The day after my arrival I was very ill. I contacted the front desk and in 1/2 hour I had a Dr. in the room, brought medications, the hotel made arrangements for pharmacy to deliver rest. Dr. called that evening to make sure I was okay. The staff kept checking on me through out the day. They were great. They really went out of their way to insure I was okay. Even preparing special soups and juices. Terrific staff.
It's always a treat to stay here. The staff is friendly and always ready to assist with any need one may have. Our room was perfect-clean,spacious, comfortable. This hotel is perfect because not only does it have everything you need but it's location is just right.
It is a Hotel very well maintained with a location convenient, there are very tourist and business guests.
One of the nicest hotels especially for the price. Pool is heated to the perfect temp! The only thing that was off is the shower head sprays everywhere. We stayed in 2 different rooms and they were both the same. The 2nd room was also noisy outside with some machine like air-conditioning or something. The first room had a nice view of the front of the hotel. Over all I will def stay here again! The housekeeper Bianca was also very nice! All the staff was friendly.
Barcelo is conveniently located near the airport with shuttle service, in house and nearby resturants, full concierge service and to top it off, a wonderful view of the volcano from our balcony.
The hotel staff provided excellent and quick service. Rooms were very clean and smelled good.
Very nice place mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I have been staying at this hotel from more then 20 years. I would says that in 2015 and 2016 the staff became much colder the before. But on my last trip they seems to be smiley again, like before and very attentive like before. My ast stay was nice like the good old days there. Maybe they change manager.
The area around doesn't feel that safe but the enterance is beautiful. The staff is exceptionally helpful. I do like the fact I need to use my key to go to my floor. Sadly when we were fixing the chairs to sit down and have dinner, I moved one of the chairs and found a piece of paper covered in ants. We called the front desk and they came in full investigative mode, using their fingers to check the whole area as they were down on their knees. They simply picked it up applied Lysol and that was it. No comp, no room change. So I was a little disappointed in that, I was hoping a little higher quality in the room but it is definitely outdated.
This was the third time that I have stayed at this hotel. Unfortunately this time I had to listen to loud music until 1 a.m. in the morning. On Friday night my whole room was shaking it was so loud. When I complained to the staff all I got was sorry. While the hotel itself is very nice and so was the room, I won't be staying here again in the future
Well, the goods... The bed was very comfortable and the housekeeping was great, clean and white sheets, comfy pillows and also the balcony was cool for smoking. The room was very clean at all times. The bads (Unfortunately too many of them)... The carpet was very old and scratched at the entrance of the room, but the worst part was the staff. They urgently need a Customer Service training to enhance their skills. The Front Desk staff do not receive the customers as good as other hotels, not a warm welcome with a smile or anything, very impersonal, not even a welcome!! I felt like they were making a favor by giving me a hotel room!. The lady at the lobby bar was also not very gentle, probably because she was busy attending 10 tables by herself (consider to put more staff on peak times to provide a decent customer service). The security guards at the entrance and in the parking lot were the WORST!!. Asking people how long they will stay with the guests, such imprudent questions made my stay awful!. They are there only to report any abnormality, not to question guests.... TERRIBLE!! Finally, the VIP cocktail was a total dissapointment!!! First, It should not be called a cocktail because alcoholic drinks are not available. Lemonade, Orageade or Fruit Punch (NO alcohol) Come on!!! for a hotel like this one, It shouldn't be that much expensive to offer a piña colada, mojito or something more special for Orbitz VIP customers.... "VIP" hotel??? I don't think so!!
Estuvo bien solo que la habitación que me dieron no tenia balcón.

Staff were very friendly. Room service is awsome.
Very close to airport. I like the breakfast variety
Hotel was a great first stop for my first time in Guatemala. The security was off the hook. The Staff was super polite, and helpful. The noise from the airport and the avenue wasn't that big a deal for 2 days.
