It was long ago but I remember the hotel was really nice and fancy, it was very modern and has a nice swimming pool, I recommend you stay there! Especially for military members! It had gift shops and was located right on the beach, if I do ever go back to Guam I would go straight to that hotel
I stayed here for a week in August. Nicely furnished hotel, a 4 star not a 5 star which was catered to families due to the swimming pools and water slide.Location is about a 5-10 minute walk to the main shopping area as it is a bit further from the other hotels but has its own beach and the water is very warm, you have to walk out a way to snorkel but good for families. Quiet hotel. Good amenities but food is not catered for Westerners eg. cornflakes and toast for breakfast and that was in the lounge. Cafe has Japanese food, got fed up with the lack of choice and walked into town and the Outrigger cafe has an extensive food and drinks menu. A nice walk too. The staff speak good English. Worth visiting Micronesia Mall, bus stops at the hotel every 10 minutes as well as to the Designer Mall outlet. Would stay somewhere else on my next visit that catered more to Westerners but the hotel complex itself was very nice..
My frend and I were happy to have an ocean view. Hotel food was fresh with many kinds. So it was delicious. Staffs are generally frendly. But, It took an hour to get a hair dryer. So I was uncomfortable to wait. The 70 meters slide of the pool was great. but what impressed me the most was Mr.Shammy Swimming lesson. He taught me and my friend as if he taught his own daughters. My friend could not swim at all, but Shammy was her first swim teacher in her life. My name is Choi. Please give our great thanks to him.
It was our second stay at Hotel Nikko since December 2016. As we arrive rather early in Guam, we emailed the hotel prior to our arrival and were told that an early check in can be arranged at a separate 50% room cost, but only subjected to availability and we could make the request when we arrive. When we arrived, there was one unfriendly staff at the check in counter, and when we asked her about available rooms, she didn't even check and simply looked away and said "everything full", and we should come back at 2pm. Reluctantly we went out for breakfast and returned at 2pm, but another staff claimed that our rooms were not ready and we had to wait for another 30minutes. So we finally got to our rooms at 2:30pm, after a long flight, was that was really helpful.
Big resort. Very nice overall. Bathrooms are dated (at least on the 5th floor) but rest of rooms are great. Amazing views. If I was staying here for family fun, this would be a great hotel. Fun pool slides. Gorgeous beach.
Hotel Nikko is near gun beach. You may find this place with such a terrific view of the ocean, many tourists and military travel far to experience this scenic view. The restaurant Toh Lee has unforgettable panoramic view of Tumon Bay. Tumon Bay is so relaxing .😊
This tastefully designed restaurant in on the north end of the Nikko Hotel in Guam accessed from the side door entrance by the parking lot. My wife and have eaten lunch there several times and did so again today. Lunches consist of a set meal which changes every month. It incudes desert and coffee. Our lunch arrived in a wooden framework with different platforms, each with a small dish. Dishes included tuna and octopus sashimi, tempura, two different small dishes of Japanese vegetable pickles, a bowl of rice, a small piece of mackerel, two small pieces of salmon, soba noodles, and an egg custard which contained one shrimp, one piece of another fish, and a gingko nut, and the usual bowl of misu soup. Desert was served later and consisted of a serving of vanilla ice cream, green tea tiramisu, and a small serving of chocolate mousse. Coffee accompanied desert. The tuna sashimi was the best quality I ever tasted. Each of the other dishes were excellent and tasty. The chocolate mousse was outstanding (and too little of it). I highly recommend this restaurant. It serves the best Japanese lunch in Guam.
The breakfast buffet was priced with our room rate...yet, this was not the typical "cheesy" buffet! The choices were plenty, the cook to order station made great omlettes, and the breads were delicious!
We stayed at The Nikko for 5 nights. The location is ok as we had rented a car. When we asked for the bottled water on the 2nd night after we returned to hotel almost midnight, we were informed that complimentary bottled water would only be offered once upon arrival due to hotel policy. It’s quite ridiculous that bottled water is a kind of welcome drink. Therefore, i tried to use the kettle to boil water and take some ice from the ice making machine in the corridor. I washed the kettle several times to remove the stains, but still got something floating in the boiled water. On the 3rd day, when we returned to our room in the evening, we found the door was not closed. We thought that the room attendant was getting us the toiletries which were not refilled, but nobody returned after waiting for 20mins. We called to the housekeeping to check and was told that someone would get back to us for what’s happening, but no response was received until we checked out. Later that night, a room attendant came with the toiletries as requested from us. Unexpectedly, she spoke loudly and rudely. I never met a staff like her before. The hotel is quite old and renovations are required. Overall, we were disappointed and will not consider to stay there again.
There are Two reasons why I would not recommend this hotel. 1. I waited in line for more than 10 minutes every morning for 7 days to be seated for breakfast. 2. The bathroom was so poor that even when cleaned it was considered nasty. The Hotel is ok, the beach and Pool is nice and the staff is helpful and sweet. but we stayed at the hotel for 8 days and even though we tried to pick different times. We always ended up waiting minimum 10 minutes to be seated for Breakfast. That really pissed me off. And my 2 boys wasn't exactly happy either. Starting us all off at the wrong foot every day. The age of the rooms. I kinda expected based on the previous reviews. But I didn't expect the bathroom to be that poor. at the end of the week the drain even stopped.leaving water all over.
