Approximately 51 miles from the Long Island MacArthur Airport, Greenport is almost at the eastern tip of the North Fork. Greenport hotels and other travel deals can be reserved at Orbitz.com.

Greenport Village Historic District

Greenport Village Historic District consists of 254 historic structures mostly made of wood, which were developed from the 1750s to 1930s and have been only slightly altered since then. This district is the remnant of the village’s early rural settlement, which rapidly developed from the 19th to the early 20th century. Visitors can join a walking tour of the area, where they can marvel at the intricately designed structures of the Reeve Building, Whitney Hubbard’s Gallery, Greenport Yacht, Shipbuilding Yard, the Jail House and the Greenport Auditorium. Tourists can stay at the Well’s House B&B on Main Street, a comfy hotel that is on the National Register of Historic Homes. Rates start at $300 per night, and travelers call the hotel at 631-477-0674.

Front Street

Front Street houses some of the most popular shopping centers and restaurants in Greenport. Coronet Luncheonette, located on the corner of Front and Main Street, is a diner-style restaurant where visitors can grab a quick breakfast, which includes mouth-watering food items such as omelets, pancakes, French toast, blueberry muffins, and more. The Rhumbline Pub features a full menu, pub-style décor, and excellent service. Both locals and tourists can sample some Texas-style barbecue at Barbecue Bills. For accessories and handcrafted jewelry, visit Blue Ruth and find one-of-a-kind Greenport pieces. Pick some fashionable apparel at Creations by Lisa, where you can find great selections of clothing and costume jewelry. Tourists who want to take home some local tea leaves or tea ware will be delighted to find some at Greenport Tea Company. Visitors with pets can find a long line of pet supplies and items at Harbor Pet. Travelers can stay at the Harborfront Inn on Front Street. Rates start at $229 per night, and the inn can be reached at 631 477-0707.
