Very quaint and charming historic building in the heart of downtown Gettysburg located within easy walking distance to innumerable shops and restaurants. There is designated off street parking for 6 cars. Our room “Elizabeth Thorn” faced the street so was a bit noisy but not enough to keep us from sleeping. There is no TV in the room. More importantly there was no desk so my wife had some difficulty with makeup in the morning as the only lights in the room other than a small ceiling fixture were rather dim lamps on the bed side tables. She ended up sitting on pillows on the floor next to her side table. The bathroom has a pedestal sink with little space for supplies. The shower stall was smallish and oddly there were no towel bars near it so you have to walk dripping wet to the other side of the bathroom to dry off. Having a towel bar near the shower and some shelves in the bathroom would go a long way to improving the functionality of the bathroom. Breakfast is served continental style with orange juice, coffee and teas accompanied by scrambled eggs, bacon, bagels and a variety of mini muffins and mini scones and also fresh fruit. There are also some cereals and instant oatmeals. It runs from 8-10 but a hot coffee pot was ready around 7 and there is a Keurig with a variety of flavored coffees always available. There is a cozy parlor next to the dining area for guests to gather.

A pleasant stay all in all, however, the shower was not working!

Only stayed one night. The host was very friendly and accommodated our late arrival. Walking distance to shopping an restaurants. Breakfast was simple, but all we needed to start our day. Historical home with lots of charm.

Within easy walking distance to town square and restaurants.

We loved our stay here. We were a little creeped out to learn that there is a ton of paranormal activity in the home (I should have guessed since it was a civil war hospital) so we asked our tour guides about it before going back to sleep that night and they said that it is but that they're "friendly ghosts." So that's a relief I guess. We didn't experience much except for the sound of boots walking upstairs and a cat meow, but it's a very old creaky house. Overall we really loved it. It was so charming, the other guests were friendly and didn't mind that we sat in the living room and told ghost stories while drinking wine at night. The only negative thing is that we thought the bed in the Hettie Schriver room was hard and uncomfortable, but my sister stayed in the Tillie Pierce room and said the bed was the most comfortable she'd experienced. We really enjoyed being able to leave our car in their parking lot and walk everywhere we wanted in historic Gettysburg. The owner and manager were very friendly and helpful as well. I definitely recommend this place to everyone looking for not just a hotel, but a place with tons of character and history and a little bit of a creepy factor (in a good way!)
