Staybridge Suites Fort Wayne3.0 out of 5.0

I stayed at this Staybridge suites recently for business. I was only there one night. The rooms are great, laid out very well, and spacious. Great amenities in the bathroom, as they have disposers in the shower, and if you're a fan of the old bar of soap, you're covered. My room had two tv's, and separate bedroom with a queen sized bad, that was very comfortable. If you're a business traveller, there are many, many places to plugin and charge your devices, the wifi is very good, and I had no issues connecting to my work server. All the rooms have a kitchenette, so if you're there for a few days, and don't want to eat out everyday, there is a stove, fridge. dishwasher, enough dishes for a family of four and two burners on the stove, a coffee maker, etc, etc. If you're a fitness buff, there are cardio machines and a state of the art weight machines with attachments. You can get a full body workout at this hotel. The staff was friendly and recognized me as a Gold Elite Member. There is ample parking, and the location is close to highways, stores, a mall, restaurants, gas stations and grocery stores. It's right beside a Police station so you are safe!!! The breakfast was good and from Monday to Wednesdays there is a dinner served in the breakfast area. There is an outdoor courtyard where you can sit out side, access the pool and shoot some hoops, which is a nice touch. All in all a great choice as the price for one or several nights.
Very clean with hot breakfast and fitness room. Easy access to I-69. Evening social on Monday to Wednesday provides almost enough food for dinner. You could cook in the room too. Even it has a central HVAC, the air duct flow noise was high for two rooms I stayed. Try to stay in a room not facing the highway.
I had planned on making a day trip to Ft Wayne to visit a friend, but after evening plans the night before cancelled, I decided to hop online and see if there were inexpensive hotels in the area that I could stay at with a pool and hottub. Staybridge Suites came up on my list for under $100, so I booked on Expedia, threw some clothes in my backpack, and hit the highway. I arrived about 7:30 in the evening, checked in, and got to my room. The hotel sits behind some other businesses and was a bit hard to find the entrance (and the exit.. lots of "wrong way" signs) but once I did, I was met with a fairly empty parking lot. Check in process was quick and painless, and within a few minutes, I was in my room. I like Staybridge Suites because you have a separate living room/kitchenette and bedroom/bathroom. I was only staying the night, but I've stayed at other locations around the US much longer for work before, and I always appreciated the real closet versus the wardrobe closet. After getting my stuff to my room, I switched into my swim trunks and headed down to the pool. I was really disappointed that there was a sign on the door that the heater was not working and the water was 70 degrees, and that I could "swim at my own discretion." This was the reason I chose this hotel over some of the others, so I went back to my room. All in all, a decent stay at a decent price, but I was a little unhappy about the pool being broken. I thought maybe since I booked on Expedia that I didn't get an announcement about it, but I checked their main website too and nothing was listed.
Our family stayed here for 2 nts. at the beginning of the mth. We had previously stayed at this chain a year ago in South Bend, so we were familiar with it. We'd normally choose Homewood Suites, when available, but even though there's one right next door, it didn't have a pool so we opted to try Staybridge again. We made reservations a month in advance, online thru the hotel's website. We booked a 1 bedroom suite however when we got to our room, we found that we were given 2 doubles instead. We were really unhappy about this but since we were so exhausted from the long day at the zoo, we chose to just make it work. The real bummer is that the clerk never even said anything about the type of room, or that they couldn't give us a king, etc. An acknowledgement goes a long way, but we got nothing. Also we had requested to be near an elevator. We could not have been put farther from the elevator. (Again, we realize that was only a request, but a simple acknowledgement would've been nice.) The room itself is nice and homey. The full kitchen is stocked with the basic essentials; stove, microwave, dishwasher, fridge (with an ice maker), plates, cups, silverware, etc. Dishwashing tablets are provided as was liquid dish soap, however there were no sponges for washing dishes. The garbage can, under the sink, is very small though. We found ourselves putting garbage in bags we had brought from home to keep the trash from piling up. There are plenty of table tops. Counter/bar area in the kitchen, a desk, multiple side tables, night stands, etc and lots of outlets for charging electronics. Also wi-fi was pretty decent. The living room had a sofa and a decently comfortable side chair. The sofa we found pretty uncomfortable especially as the pull out bed. The mattress is super thin, and you could feel the bars underneath. The living room had a nice TV as well as a DVD player. (Another TV in bedroom, but not a DVD player.) The bedroom is a little on the cramped side, especially with the 2 beds. One of the beds sits right up to the wall/window. We found the beds to be extremely firm. If that's what you like, then you'll be good. Us, not so much... The bathroom area has a sink outside of the toilet/shower area which is good for allowing more than one person to get ready at the same time, however the bathroom door opens out directly into someone if they're there getting ready & the closet is behind the sink area. It becomes quite congested if everyone is trying to get ready at the same time. The shower had great water pressure and there's canisters on the shower wall with shampoo/conditioner/body wash. (A nice touch!) The pool/hot tub area is nice. We lucked out and got it all to ourselves! The pool was a bit on the chilly side but going into the hot tub afterwards helped to warm us up. Our biggest complaint was that there was a yappy barking dog in the room next to us. (Yes, it's a pet friendly hotel.) On our 2nd nt. we literally got no sleep because it refused to stop barking the entire nt. We don't know if it was left alone or what?! Can't understand if the owner was there how they would've allowed that to go on all nt. We did call the front desk to complain but basically just got the "Oh I'm sorry. Do you know what room it is?" The dog never stopped barking, so we don't think anything was done about it. :( Our stay could've been SOOOO much better. It was easy to find, convenient to the main road, and super clean. Unfortunately comfort and lack of sleep are major issues for us.
Very nice studio apartment with helpful staff. I was looking for ice and was directed to the Coke machine! Much appreciated! We grabbed dinner at the Kroger across Route 24 and enjoyed it in our room, which was equipped with basic kitchen needs. The only criticism I can levy on this very nice property is that it is not in a walkable area. There are very nice restaurants nearby, but given the traffic, it is impractical to walk to them. Otherwise, this is a lovely place.
This is what you would expect. Kitchen, living area, king bed. Very clean and the staff was super friendly. Th only warning is to be aware that the driveway you pull into is one way and you take the exit through the lot and out the next door property. I'd stay again for sure.
Wife had a conference in Fort Wayne. We picked the Staybridge for the quality of their rooms and service. Location to Interstate, shopping and restaurants was very good. They also serve an excellent breakfast buffet.
We traveled recently to visit family in Indiana. We had never stayed at a Staybridge, and there were a lot of hotels in this area which we were just randomly checking availability and pricing. We stayed in a beautiful 1 room suite with full kitchenette that was above expectations. We were also impressed with the breakfast buffet. It was so clean, organized and had a very good breakfast; including a meat, waffles, yogurt, cereal and scrambled eggs that had multiple toppings to add. An added detail was the staff member running the breakfast made rounds to the guests to check if everything was alright and if needed anything else. So nice and courteous. In fact all the staff we encountered were friendly. The other detail I thought very impressive was in the pool area. There were towels laid out on all the tables and on backs of the chairs. It was so handy to have a towel right in reach when little ones are getting out of the pool. That was a very thoughtful and a great idea. The family we visited were also so impressed that next year, they want to come and stay too.
The pictures posted by this hotel and the reality of the rooms could not be more different! When we entered the hotel it looked great. The carpets looked new and well maintained. We were looking forward to a nice stay. When we opened the door to our room we were stunned. It looked nothing like the lobby or the posted pictures. The furniture is stained with what looks like disgusting body fluids and/or dried food stains. The desk chair is ripped. Someone has signed their name in ink on it. I honestly do not think you would find furniture like this in the worst resale or thrift store. The seating areas looked so soiled that we did not want to sit on them and get our clothes dirty. We took the extra bed cover from the closet to cover the couch so we would have somewhere clean to sit. See the pictures. The chest of drawers had what looks like a dirty handprint on it. The bedskirt was torn. The bathroom door had a hole in it that had been very poorly patched. This room was not what was pictured. I could not believe they are rated as they claimed to be. Perhaps one of these things could be overlooked. All of them together can not. You can look at the pictures and see how you would rate it. See pictures. To top all of that off, the traffic from I 69 is EXTREMELY loud. I called and asked to change rooms and were told no rooms were available. I took pictures of the room to the front desk and the young lady at the desk immediately called the manager. We had prepaid for our room. The manager wanted to know through whom our room had been booked. (This made me wonder if different rooms are given to different booking services.) I was told they could do nothing about the room but our night would be free. I was told they would make it right tomorrow and would change everything in the room or possibly change the room. While I appreciate their response I can not even think of sleeping in such a soiled room. Right now we are in the process of trying to find a hotel with vacancies. I will update this post tomorrow if we are forced to stay here tonight by lack of vacancies in the area. To say I feel like the pictures posted and reviews for this hotel were extremely deceptive.
I came to Fort Wayne to watch a Komets game and decided to get a room for the night instead since I felt that I was too tired to make the drive safely. I opened up the IHG app to book a room at the HI Express next door, but found that Staybridge was actually cheaper than HIE, despite the added amenities! I regret that I didn't catch the names of the women who were at the desk when I checked in and out, but they were very polite and courteous throughout my stay. The building was very clean and comfortable, and the free breakfast was quite good. Due to the last-minute nature of my visit, I didn't have time to fully enjoy the room, but it was clean, well-maintained, and the kitchen was fully equipped. I would give serious consideration to staying here again, but only if I plan to be in town for more than one night or if the room is cheaper than HIE.
