This hotel is fairly new. It is very close to the sports arena, the reason for our trip. The full kitchen was great, only problem, not very much room at all to eat! Bathroom was large, and bed was nice. Only problem at this place, they never would pick up trash or give us clean towels. We stayed for 4 nights, but I didn't expect full cleaning, but at least clean towels and trash taken. Strange.... They have a good pizza place that delivers, menus in lobby. The morning breakfast is not much, cereal, milk, bananas and some muffins. All in all, nice place for extended stay. The rate was high, but the closeness of arena is what swayed our decision.
We stopped here overnight as part of an Indiana antiquing trip. Hotel was nice but not "superb" as listed on Hotels.com. It was clean but everything looked like it was done on the cheap side. The water in the shower was the hardest I have ever felt. The best part of our stay was the desk clerk, Mary. She was funny and happy & gave us an excellent recommendation for dinner (Salvatori's on Illinois Rd).
To begin with, this is a very nice hotel. With that being said there are a lot of nice hotels out there that aren't going to break the bank. I booked this because my wife and I were meeting my son and his fiancé and they offered "suites." I don't really know what most people expect, with a suite, but I was really expecting more than a regular hotel room with a very small kitchen. In the future I will save my money and get two rooms at an economy motel for less than the cost of their suite. The highlight of the hotel was the continental breakfast attendant. She was very cheerful and helpful. Another positive about the place is the location. It was very close to Ft. Wayne's mall and several restaurants. It was also located next to the sports complex and Ice skating rink so it lends itself to a young crowd.
Staff was great. Friendly and helpful. No wait to check in. Our room was large, clean, and comfortable. Breakfast was not the best ever but it was not bad. And it was free. Hotel is in a good spot for Fort Wayne. Checkout was simple. Just leave. And you get an email with your bill. Parking was safe and free.
Clean inside and out. Beds are comfortable. Our Top Comforter was not clean, saw stains on them, didn't use it put it on the floor for housekeeping. Kitchen nook is nice, comes with one set of pots and pans, silverware. Large Fridge not your standard room size fridge. Flat Screen TV. The Suite we had was on the 3rd Floor away from the elevator and very quiet for resting. Breakfast to was continental. For the price you pay for the room the breakfast should have at least come with scrambled eggs or bacon. The breakfast consist of yogurt, toast, bagels, boiled egg, cereal and waffle maker, cold frozen mini muffins and fruit. Oh well IHop was close by. Was not impressed with management, just took over the conversation with the new employee when all she should have done was stood there and waited to see if assistance was needed. Just took over and became snippy when I was asking questions, and would not allow me to pay with cash, I had to put it all on my credit card. So if you have cash to pay don't bother. This was my first time at this location, not sure if I will to stay again.
stayed onsite for a week of business in Ft Wayne.....hotel was convenient to all points and good access to major routes. I know from experience this property gets a high occupancy volume from youth sports teams due to its location. Wear and tear are inevitable; but some attention to minor vandalism and abuse from the teenagers would be appreciated. As a suggestion; could there be some segregation; maybe hold the top floor for business travelers and relegate the teams to floors 1-3.......
We stayed in this hotel for travel to the Warsaw area. We had a room with 2 queen beds. The room was spacious; besides the usual TV and chair, the room and a lovely dining room table with four chairs. Although we did not use the kitchen facilities, there were very clean and nice. I like the fact that we could could open the window at least a few inches to let fresh air in. The decor was very modern and appealing. It was a nice afternoon so we enjoyed the outdoor seating area while reading the paper and having coffee from the nearby Tim Hortons. The front desk staff was very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast area was awkward for the set up and flow of guests, but there was seating room inside and outside. We will stay here again when in the Fort Wayne - Columbia City area.
Odd location and odd vibe. This is a middling hotel that is in a rather odd location making access somewhat challenging. Overall the area is a mix of commercial and light industrial with the plus side being many dining options nearby. The rooms themselves are good with nice beds. On the downside, a little TLC is needed in public areas like the hallways which are showing wear.
We used Marriott points to stay here. Very close to Glenbrook Square Shopping Mall. Free parking, Indoor pool, fitness center, free breakfast (breads, bagels, muffins, waffles, cereal and hard boiled eggs). Halls had a new carpet smell, pool area was very nice. Subtracted a star because we only had 3 towels/wash clothes even though they knew there was 4 of us. When we called front desk to ask for the other set, we were told to come down and get them. Really?
This was my first stay at a TownePlace Suites and it won't be my last. The property was clean, parking was easy, and the staff was friendly. The best thing about the stay, though, was that they have the most comfortable beds and pillows I've ever come across in a hotel. I can't wait to go back just for that fact alone!
