The room they put us in was absolutely not what we're used to from Red Roof Inn. In addition to being disgusting (carpet was frayed, room was muggy even with the a/c on, beds were super old and uncomfortable), there appeared to be a group of construction workers living there that congregated outside of their rooms, smoking, drinking, and being extremely loud until about midnight. The receptionist that checked us in actually warned us about them, so they obviously knew that this was going on and didn't do anything about it. We love Red Roof Inn because it is pet friendly, but we will not return to this one.
The room looked clean but smelled really bad. Convenient location, nice to have a first-floor room for unloading. I had my cat with me and it took him an hour to settle down because it smelled like other animals had Peed all over in the room. If I wasn't exhausted from the long drive, I would've left.
Check in and check out were great. Room had easy access and parking was great. Stayed in handicap access room (I'm not handicapped) and shower was great. Everything in the room worked fine. No noise problems, though there were some guys drinking outside their rooms several rooms down the evening we stayed there. Room smelled like smoker's room somewhat. All the furniture had the finish coming off in varying degrees. The armchair stuck to my arms because of buildup on the chair arms. There was a noticeable stain on the carpet between the beds that it appears they tried unsuccessfully to remove. I killed a spider in one of the beds and it left a blood stain on the sheet. Mattresses were very firm and I woke up sore, as did my wife. Did not sleep well. Paint was coming off the dark red walls and lighter color showed through a lot, especially between the beds. Bathroom had toilet that rocked side to side, despite appearing to have recently been re-set. Towel rack appears to have been re-mounted as well and wall just had white caulk patched into former holes. I did not feel comfortable walking on the carpet barefooted. For the sake of comparison - we stayed in downtown Savannah, Georgia in the Springhill Suites by Marriott after that and I have no complaints about the hotel room there. I'll try to review that place too.
This is a great place especially for the money. The grounds were very clean, the room was terrific with an excellent king bed. No extra pet charge, very handy to I-95 and several mid-day restaurants, Cracker Barrell, Ruby Tuesday's etc.
Arriving late in the evening, the friendly staff quickly checked us in. After arriving in our room they called to make sure we were comfortable and if we needed anything. The room was very clean. Loved being able to park right in front of the room, it make for easy unloading and loading the car.
we asked for a first floor, quiet room; we had rm 106- we always stay at Red Roof Inns as they do not charge extra - one pet We are also redicard members which means one bottle of water p.person We felt the room was 'very' nice and the breakfast was more than expected (hot waffles +) We would return to this one (no problems)
It was great to just jump off the highway and find it quickly. It's pet friendly (and they don't charge a damage fee up front) which is great. But the bathroom floor was sticky and even the carpet was sticky (so much so I would only walk in socks. The bed was hard and the room dark and dingy. The front desk attendant was very nice and seemed to know the registering patrons from previous visits. There wasn't a 1st floor room available, so making 5 trips up to the second floor made an extremely long day of driving (12 hours) even longer. There was a little fridge which was wonderful, but it ran so loudly it was very hard to sleep with the noise. Just not a positive experience and I would not return to this specific Red Roof. Signs on the hwy said there were newer Red Roofs.... I'd look for them next time.
We felt welcome right away. Constance at the desk was so helpful we knew we'd made the right stop. Clean rooms and quiet. First time I've had the desk call and ask if my room was okay. I t was more than okay. Breakfast included
This Red Roof is easy to access of I-95. The front desk person was very nice and friendly. We were placed in a non-pet room and it was great. Very quiet and within walking distance to Ruby Tuesday. Good stay.
Wifi is very weak and doesn't work with ipad. Direct TV doesn't work great either.it might help to have directions in room because room service is too busy to help. best thing is that its dog friendly and reasonably priced.
