The hotel has very good facilities; the staff is outstanding; the restaurant has good food;—The rooms are very clean. The views from the dining room and guest rooms are breathtaking . The daily rates are expensive.
This place is OK, and they do a nice job with the rooms and breakfast, and it's quiet, but we would not stay here again unless we had a car. The shuttles don't start until 10 AM, and only run once per hour, which can make for a lot of waiting. Further, they don't allow simple things that are standard elsewhere, such as charging small amounts extra to the room for cash. Since all of the tours that handle glacier hikes or kayaks, etc., require cash-only park fees ahead of time, that the tour companies pick up from the hotels the night before, it would be nice if the hotel would allow such things.
The location is a few minutes by car from the center, but the room is large and comfortable, and the dining room is beautiful. It's definitely worth the few min drive. We had a hard time finding the hotel with a GPS, but all places that deal with tourists knew where it was.
A real four star hotel, comfortable rooms, kid and helpful staff, good Wi Fi. Minibar in rooms, DirecTV. Has a nice bar, ambiente and decoration are classy. Restaurant could have more options, but included breakfast is abudant and varied. The hotel lies ten minutes away from town by car, but it has a great free shuttle service every hour from early morning through 22 hs. It is very calm and quiet, the view of the lake is great.
We paid for a standard room and it was quite specious for my surprise. The view from the breakfast area is stunning. The hotel provides transportation for free to the centre of the city, there and back. Good option to experience the greatness of patagonia.
Pros: Restaurant was worth going to for the fabulous view over the azure coloured Lake Argentina, the delicious specials of the day which included a drink, the warm rolls/bread and the all-day service. Convenient hourly shuttles into/from town. Hills surrounding the hotel were great for hiking. Exceptional breakfast with plenty of fruit, tasty breads/sweets, scrambled eggs, bacon, yogurt, etc. Cons: Wifi a bit weak in the rooms. Thin walls.
We had a great time in El Calafate. Edenia was nice, comfortable and clean. The hotel has a shuttle service which makes the trip into town super easy. The views are beautiful from Edenia a special mention to look out for the red sunsets over the mountains! *Please note that it is the local council regulations that you can not use the shuttle service with your large bags, (as it detracts from the transport industry) you must make arrangements either by yourself or through the hotel reception for a car to/from airport or town/bus station. We took a bus from the airport to town to book a tour for the following day and thought we could just catch the shuttle with all our stuff. The driver was super friendly Javier and would have taken us except that it is not allowed. The taxi from town to the hotel is between 165-190 pesos. We did not use the sauna or shower so can not comment. We had a lovely stay in El Calafate thank you.
We chose Edenia for its location being the last pick up hotel for the Perito Moreno tour as it allowed us extra sleep time in the morning. It is far from town center although the shuttle is helpful. The room was clean and the staff was helpful. It's a solid choice.
The hotel is beautiful and well kept, rooms are very big, cosy and tidy (yet noisy, walls are quite thin). It lies on a hill overlooking the Lago Argentino with wonderful views. There were only a few guests during the course of our stay. Breakfast was good and with a view, lots of fresh food. The hotel staff is accomodating yet almost as cold as the wind in Patagonia, yet some of them should learn to be more reactive as well. We had a nice stay and would not mind to go back.
Great hotel, but it is located 8 kms from the city center (the location on the internet provides wrong info of 0.3 km. The hotel does have a reliable shuttle, but it starts running only at 10 am and has a break between noon and 2 pm. Most of the tour companies are not prepared to pick up tourists from the hotel, so you need to pay for a taxi every time ~$10 US.The shuttle driver is great and speaks reasonably good English. The breakfast is also good. The wifi is very unreliable and is not working in many rooms
