I dont know about the others in Calafate, but this one is a very good Hotel. Staff was kind. Room was clean. Breakfast was very good. Beautiful location at 10 minutes walk from downtown. I agree with the good reviews in Trip Advisor.

We found the reception staff to be professional and helpful. Although it would have been good if they had mentioned the dinner discount if you ate earlyish. We didn't see it until after we had eaten and left the restaurant, and then it was too late to claim it. The hotel was nicely decorated and comfortable, with a lounge/waiting area near the front door, and another 2 lounge rooms next to each other past reception, one of which had a few computers to use. We asked for a quiet room which was provided. It was large, with a nice window seat, and on the ground floor. The only problem we struck was that it was too hot. Another reviewer has mentioned this and we also found it too uncomfortable at night, even with just a sheet over us. It was only a 10 minute walk into the centre of town, so not too bad at all. Many other hotels were even further out which we discovered when we were picked up for our glacier tour. It was a nice hotel but the overheated rooms would put us off staying here again in late spring and summer.

Very warm, lodge-like feeling on the edge of a very quaint, authentic town. Very friendly staff. Comfortable lounge area felt like Vail. Honorable people. My son accidentally left his phone and they were responsible and responsive. Within a half hour they had the cleaning crew tidy up the room and located the phone. They arranged for pick-up by our travel agent who then shipped it to BA. Cute dogs wondering around. The only downside was no A/C but the windows worked fine.

Due to the busy peak time of our travels to El Calafate most hotels in the area had no availability. Mirador had a couple rooms left so we booked. The room was small and sort of darkish due to a small single window in the room #204. Though I would never stay in this room again if I could avoid it this was not the problem. The problem with the hotel is the complete lack of hospitality and professionalism from the front desk staff. We had an issue with our laundry not being able to be located or finished (who knows) and the response was unacceptable for a hotel. After following up again I was told it would be delivered to our room before we went on our tour the following morning. Alas it didn't show and only after another couple complained about their laundry not showing up it materialized. It was probably already done the day before-just too much work for the front desk to locate it. Lastly, our last night was New Year's Eve and when we arrived from our tour we were told we could order room service if we did not want to eat at the restaurant as they were having a fixed menu. Sounded great until we went to place our order and were told they were too busy and that we had to have placed our order before 9pm. Confused by this supposed cutoff (we called at 9:20) as we were not told this by the front desk we asked to speak to a manager as they were insistent they couldn't serve us. The gentleman hung up on us and that pretty much sums up this hotel. Not worth spending any amount of money on poor service as there are I'm sure plenty of hotels with great staff. Clearly there is a leadership issue with the hotel. On a side-note the wait staff at the restaurant for dinner and breakfast were all very hospitable, welcoming, and always with a large smile on their face. In summation, if you expect first-rate concierge/front-desk assistance/problem-solving you should not expect it. If you are going to be on excursions your entire stay and are only looking for a clean, decent place to stay this hotel can provide that basic level of service. But should you need anything more or expect anything more look elsewhere.

Stayed there for 2 nights as was heading to see the Perito Moreno Glacier. Room is relatively big with a good bed and decent bathtub. Breakfast is rich. The real issue I (and others) had was the lack of A/C in the rooms. It was hot at night and very difficult to sleep. I paid extra to get a room with a view to the lake but that meant being at street level and was a bit concerned about leaving my window wide open at night. At breakfast I heard stories from people who did that and ended up having a cat come to visit etc.. So overall OK experience but for the price I paid I expected more.

Love the location and very helpful staff that couldn't do enough for you from dinner reservations to activities. They also allowed us an extra 10 minutes over check out time. Would recommend and stay there again.

Stayed here for 2 nights during a recent visit to Patagonia. The property is nice and the room was kept clean. Breakfast was average. The location was on the west side of town, so if you're heading to Perito Moreno, it's good to be on of the last to be picked up and first to be dropped off when you return. A bit of a walk to the center of town, however. 10-15 minutes.

We stayed here a couple of night to make day trips in the surroundings. Hotel rooms are nicely decorated. Sometimes you hear the neighbours (because of wooden floors/walls). Very friendly and helpful personnel.

We spent two days at Mirador del lago. This is a good hotel, not super luxurious but very comfortable and with a great location close to the downtown restaurants, bars, grocery stores and souvenir shops. The hotel was very efficient with check in. The rooms were nice, could be a little hot but if you keep the window open a bit at night you are good. We had asked for a superior valley view room and that was wonderful. The breakfast at the hotel was good - eggs, bacon, meats, cheeses, cereals, milk, fruits etc. Good spread. There is a bar and coffee service available when the restaurant is closed but one criticism is that after 7 pm there was no one at the bar and one had to go to the restaurant to ask for a drink. I highly recommend this hotel for its convenience, efficiency and super location.

The Mirador is well located to downtown shopping and restaurants. Simply an outstanding breakfast buffet. For those who require a box lunch for the following day’s travels, there is a nice variety and are well priced. The hotel was very clean and comfortable. Also, we dined at the restaurant and found it very good and quite reasonable. For our stay in El Calafate, we could not wish for anything better. Great place - wonderful staff.
