This property is a bit of a walk to the gorgeous royal mile and Edinburgh castle but if you like modern with a nice gym and excellent breakfast highly recommend. Rooms are well appointed and larger than your average European room.

The room was clean, the bed was comfortable, and the lighting okay. We didn’t realize it was more of a hotel for a night or two, not necessarily for 10 nights as there were no chairs nor any place to store clothes so we were living out of our suitcases every day. The location was convenient - close to downtown but not in a really busy place. Lots of restaurants within a few blocks. Did not have the brunch or drinks at the hotel. I would recommend for a one or two night stay, maybe three.

Clean and modern room. Comfortable bed. Would have been 5 stars except for the lighting system. The room lights and climate system are connected to a motion sensor located near the entry door. You get about 3 minutes of light and then you’ll find yourself waving your arms like a lunatic to restore power. Going to shower? You’ll finish in the dark. Want to shave or apply makeup? You have to walk across the room to trip the motion sensor repeatedly. Want to have a seat in the WC? You’ll finish in the dark. Never again.
