My disappointment started with a simple request to have my Hilton Honors number to be updated updated on my reservation I was told that they can’t do that, when I told him all others Hilton I have stayed all done it without any issue however he put the phone down on me tried to call again but no answer so I call central reservation but when I have my confirmation number I was told that the hotel cancelled my reservation I get in contact with the front office e manager trough guest assistant, she kind enough to reinstated my reservation and she apologised but can’t explain why my initial booking was cancelled, up on check out I was also charged my dinner twice luckily I checked receptionist there are two checks she got from the restaurants she agreed that was a mistake after I showed her that they are actually the same receipts with the same check number printed twice after couple days I realised that my Hilton Honors number was not updated as it was not come up on my applications like all other previous stays in others Hiltons so for that I was really disappointed I felt I was less valued I did not expect much for the money I was paying but I don’t think that I was asking too much. Having said that the receptionist who checked me in was really friendly and helpful tho she has a trainee badge on her, dinner service was excellent and good was lovely, breakfast service however I had to wait ten minutes to be seated at the end we just get in and asked for a table it was not busy lots of empty tables however we were seated next to family with four children asked to move to a quieter table gotten by the service entrance and the guy kicked the door aggressively as both his hand was full with dishes, check out reception was friendly and helpful.

It was a retreat and pleasure from Ireland re routed via edinburgh.the hotel is very well located on the royal Mile .and boast a very good chef.and it's worth trying out.the staff specially Geoge the concierge is except worth a comment.

Great location in Old Town and having stayed at the Waldorf the week before I felt this was a better value. The rooms were larger and the hotel was cleaner. I would stay here again as it is close to almost everything and was quiet

I am a lifetime Diamond member with Hilton Honors so I have spent over 2500 nights in their hotels. I know what is the typical class of service. This Hotel is completely understaffed. No doormen. No bellmen. Only 2 desk clerks. No hostess at restaurant for breakfast. There is only ONE employee who works in the lobby and the poor man serves as concierge, bellman and doorman all in one. So you are out of luck if you need help with your luggage either coming or going. Or if you need help with anything, you may have to wait 15 or 20 minutes for the poor overworked gentleman to actually be in the lobby. Same with the restaurant during breakfast. Good luck finding someone to give your room number to get breakfast or snagging a waiter to actually get served. At least 3 mornings of a 5 night stay, there was no one in the breakfast area to give my room number to after waiting both before and after my breakfast. AC was broken in the hotel and it took two days to get fixed. Room was pleasant and hotel is well located.

Things started on a low note with the adventure of schlepping luggage up the Scottish Steps the waiting 45 minutes after the 3:00pm time to check in. However, things got better after that. Great location next to the Royal Mile. We had use of the Executive Lounge and used it both days for afternoon drinks and breakfast. There was also a good selection of food in the evening that served as our dinner the second night. The room was nice with a good bathroom. We didn't use any of the other hotel facilities.

I really do enjoyed my one week stay at this hotel. Staff is amazing especially F&B and a Front Desk. Housekeeping room attendant made my day helping me with the luggage on my departure date as I had to get up a few steps from my room to reach the lift. Dinner in the restaurant was amazing. And the rest of the days dinner in the bar was perfect. Thank you very much guys for making me feeling like Home.

My first visit to this hotel surpassed my expectations. Firstly, the location is unbeatable--close to all amenities and the Town Centre and easy to walk to most places from here. The hotel staff was most helpful and every attempt made to satisfy guests. Have to say that the restaurant served the absolute best Fish and Chips that I have ever had !!

First time staying at this hotel and was really impressed with the location which makes it the perfect hotel for sightseeing! Check in was great and there were no queues. Bit perplexed as to why my key was put in a large A5 envelope rather than a handy card cover that can be kept in my pocket. Had dinner in the Marco Pierre White restaurant. Great service but wasn't blown away by the food. The starters were amazing but the fish curry lacked any real flavour and was a let down. The sticky toffee pudding was also a let down and it was served cold? Isn't the sponge supposed to be served warm with the sauce and ice cream? Cold sponge with ice cream is not a joy to eat! Room was nice and great bathroom. Beds are really fantastic and had a great sleep. Very comfortable. Room was also extremely quiet and couldn't hear the traffic. Breakfast was nice as well again with good service. I have to say my only issue was that I waited 45 minutes for a toothbrush. Several calls to both receptions and housekeeping and yet it took for me to go to Reception to get one and then instead of just giving an apology and getting me one I was made to feel like a huge burden and a pest because I was annoyed I had waited 45 minutes. If that happens again just say "I'm sorry you've waited, I will get it right now" then that's the end of it. Instead I left the hotel really annoyed! Hence the 4 star and not 5 star rating.

Hilton Carlton is 5minutes walk from Princes Street and 2 minutes from the Royal Mile Very Near to Waverley Station so no need to take a cab. Rooms are very clean and comfortable. Staff are extremely helpful. Food is good. I can highly recommend it if you plan to stay in Edinburgh.

We were a family of three and stayed for three days in the last week of September. The room given to us was spacious and the location of the hotel is possibly the best to explore the Royal Mile as well as Princess Street. I had missed a Bus tour. Disappointed, I returned and asked if we a chauffer driver car could be arranged for Stirling and Loch Lomond. If correct, Mr. Nick, immediatley spoke to a Private Cab company and hurrah the car arrived in 30 minutes. The location is well connected with transport as well as several eateries. I highly recommend this Hotel. Look no further.
