The innkeeper was incredible. He was great at communication, and super nice. He sent over instructions to find the inn, and parking ahead of time. He was there to welcome us when we checked in, and offered to help with our luggage. Our room was clean, well decorated and beautiful. We were surrounded by a lot of antiques. The breakfast was amazing. Better than most of the hotels i've stayed in. Luxurious ones included. The staffs were nice and helpful. The area was safe and super walkable. A lot of restaurants in that neighborhood to dine in. I only have good things to say about it. Will come back again. Strongly recommended.

For the two of us, the security of it was great. Yes each floor had cameras on it but being under surveillance from the owner was not an issue for us. The room was spacious and was very very quiet at night. I was suspect at first upon walking in but will for sure book another stay when in the area. The owner of the property was great and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable.

Mansion was pretty cool with a lot of history to it, however, it is in need of repairs and touch ups throughout. Room was clean and breakfast was very good. Robert was welcoming and had a good sense of humor. Great location, close to restaurant, shopping, casino, and the river.

We booked last minute, barely found it in the dark as signage wasn’t obvious. But Robert was welcoming and took our bags upstairs. He explained the keys, TV, brought us some ice and said breakfast would be at 8.It was good with plenty of choices.

This could not have been a worse experience. The bed and breakfast if thats what you would call it is disgusting. Its dirty, falling apart and a serious fire hazard. We did not even feel safe despite the 25 cameras he has monitoring your every move. The owner is creepy and inappropriate.

The mansion was beautiful and decorated Victorian style. Our room had its own A/C unit and attached bathroom with shower and spa tub. Breakfast was a delicious combo of cold buffet and personally served hot ham and egg sandwich. The owner is a great host and happy to tell the history of the house and area. Located in downtown Dubuque and walking distance to restaurants.

Unique B and B. Had third story suite. Clean and large. Facility/rooms last updated + 40 years ago. Staff nice and accommodating. Just understand the mansion is old, needs updating but very cool.

Couldn't get 2 towels without argument from owner When we said we weren't eating breakfast there he said we could have them. Room was awful, wallpaper seams were taped, carpeting very old and uneven. Building was very old and crumbly on outside. We decided to leave. Owner kept trying to talk to me without my husband in the room. He called us cheap. It was unlike anything we've ever dealt with before!!!

Hope to return to this historic gem and town

Robert was very personable and friendly. He made the excellent breakfast. The fresh fruit, pastries, egg dish and excellent coffee were greatly appreciated! Cloth napkins, personal service was wonderful. We even had a Kuerig and snacks in our antique room. Location to downtown was great. We walked to all our sites and especially enjoyed the art show in the park nearby.

Great historical B&B

This is an historic B&B, it’s cozy and comfortable, like my grandmother’s house. The manager is extremely personable and helpful. Breakfast was at 8am, served hot with a wide selection of fruit, pastries, juices etc. Very much enjoyed my stay.

Our weekend stay at The Redstone was wonderful! The spacious room was perfect for two. It was great having the bathroom included with the room. We appreciated the large refrigerator and the snacks left for us to enjoy. The breakfasts, consisting of a hot dish and an amazing assortment of pastries, fruits, cereal and nuts were wonderful. Robert,the owner, was delightful and we loved hearing his stories of the mansion's history. We highly recommend The Redstone and can't wait to stay there again!

Clean but not what we expected

The building is slowly falling into disrepair. The outside looks like a dilapidated old mansion-not welcoming. The interior while very clean is falling into disrepair. All the wallpaper is falling off being held up by duct tape all over. Everything painted needs to be repainted-cracked, chipped, peeling paint. The curtains are insufficient for privacy. The owner was very kind, but there is an odd feeling no staff on hand but security cameras everywhere. Poor lighting due to missing lightbulbs gives an odd feeling to the hallways.
