The Croke Park Hotel

Nice gym, comfortable room and nice bathroom. Not a bad walk to the city center. The rate we got made it a great value

Its 'reason for existence' is the massive Croke Park stadium right across the street. More like a limited services hotel, not a resort or high service hotel - things like certain typical bathroom amenities missing, no bottled water in the room, no pool or spa, etc. My only real complaint was in the first 24 hours I called the front desk three times - each time it rang for 20+ times before I gave up. But clean, comfortable, hotel people pleasant when you were F2F - best part was they allowed me to check in at 10am.

Directly across from Croke Park, and about a 20 minute walk into Dublin Centre, we were really pleasantly surprised by the Croke Park Hotel. The staff was universally friendly, and service was fantastic. The free parking, and wifi were appreciated, and the finish inside the hotel was to a very high standard. Drinks in the bar were outrageously expensive, and the main floor had a bit of a conference-hotel feel to it, but in all other respects the hotel was incredible value.

Extremely pleased with stay. Helpful staff, clean rooms, roomy, great bar. Only downside was location, but once you walked in all was good.

The staff was extremely helpful. We wanted to book a tour and the concierge took care of everything, even thinking to book the best seats on the tour bus for us! He also took care of having arranging taxi service for us twice and the taxi was right on time! Check in staff was pleasant.

Location is not the best unless you want to walk 15 minutes to downtown or are attending an event at the stadium across the street. Cab ride €10 from hotel to downtown. One hop-on hop-off tour company does pick up at the hotel which is helpful. Front desk staff is fabulous- very helpful and friendly. Restaurant is good for dinner - we weren't happy with breakfast due to very limited choices. Rooms are updated and clean but small- fortunately we were only there to sleep and shower. View from our room was terrible - train tracks and dirty water.

Great central location and clean comfortable room. We had a triple (full and twin beds) which was small but had a great view of the water and a modern bath with a good shower.

We found the Croke Park Hotel to meet exactly what we were looking for our first night in Ireland - proximity to the airport, included parking, comfortable, clean rooms, and a quick bus ride downtown.

This hotel is next to the Croke Park Stadium which could be great or could be a noise problem, depending on when you stay. We had a great experience there. The room was very nice, the staff were accommodating, the breakfast was excellent, the price was right. It was the best hotel on our 8 day CIE tour but is a long walk to central Dublin.

We stayed here for a night after touring Ireland. The hotel is directly across the stadium and it would be a perfect place to stay if there was a match. Its about a 15 minute walk to the city center but its not to bad. The hotel staff was very helpful.

We had a great stay at the Croke Park. It was very close to the city center and the staff were absolutely wonderful! The were friendly, efficient, and attentive. The food in the hotel restaurant was some of the best I had in Ireland! it was quiet and away from the hustle and bustle but close enough that if we wanted some night life, we could get there easily. I highly recommend it!!

Great location to explore the city and surroundings. Friend and helpful staff. Great room, comfortable and well kept. Good Wi-Fi speed and great desk to work from. Nice shower. Try to avoid checking in on a day when there is a game on at Croke Park - very busy!

For those that don't mind a 10-minute walk into town, then this hotel is great. Very clean, nice rooms at a good rate. It was convenient that the hotel had a shuttle for one of the tour bus lines comes right to the hotel every morning (up until 10:45am I think), so that even saved the walk into town if you were going to do a tour bus anyway. One thing we didn't realize though - the tour bus ticket is good for 2 days (you can't just buy it for one day), so we were trying to save money by only getting the ticket on the second day (our last day there), then of course realized we could have used if for our first day too! Oh well - maybe this info will help you when you go!

The best thing about the hotel was the staff. The staff was supper friendly and willing to help above and beyond the call of duty. The down side to the hotel was the location. The neighborhood was not good for walking or just popping out to the corner store. There were no local eateries or shops near the hotel. The city hop-on-hop off bus would pick you up in front of the hotel during convenient times over the course of the day, but you did not have access to this service on any return trips. Overall, the hotel was clean and pretty modern, but the amenities or lack thereof, qualified the facility as a three star hotel at best. However, given all this, I would still stay at the hotel on subsequent visits and I would recommend the facility to others who want a clean hotel with friendly staff.

Great Amenities at this hotel. Staff very friendly. Away from the action. Free bike rental.

It is a little out of the way for a downtown visitor, but easy to get to from the airport (I had a rental car). The staff was universally helpful, even with some strange problems I had. The free breakfast was good, the room comfortable, the area is just fine (some of these reviewers seem to think the area is bad--I didn't feel at all unsafe even late at night). It's a quiet, comfortable place a short taxi-drive from downtown.

Right across the street from the GAA Croke Park Stadium. Little further away from City Center. Not much directly around the area and have to walk around 15-20 minutes to get to anything. Great bed, bathrooms, friendly staff!

Stayed here for Three Nights. Staff were extreamly friendly. Room was clean and modern and comfortable. Coffee and tea in room. Free Parking below. Wifi in the Lobby, and in the hallway, and it sometimes reached into the Room. The Bar was fun the night of a Game. And the Hotel is right accross the street from the Stadium. Which was nice. We got to see Irish Rules Football. they Even Kept the Big Screen TV up and the bar open till 2am so we could watch the Superbowl. It is a bit far from the city center, but not a bad walk from the bus line. or a heafty walk if you feel up for it.

I stayed in the hotel for five days in the Winter of 2012. I had a very pleasant stay. The staff was very professional and the housekeeping was impeccable. One late night during my stay, the fire alarm went off by mistake. The staff kept me informed immediately the following day about the mistake and apologized for any inconvenience. I really appreciated being informed about the incident. The hotel is right next to Croke Park. There were no scheduled games when I stayed at the hotel. So the area was quiet during my stay. I am not sure if having games at Croke Park will change the quiet surroundings of the hotel.

The good: this is a top notch hotel with great staff, great amenities, great rooms. The bar and restaurant downstairs are great, the concierge is helpful, and the rooms are larger than typical Dublin rooms. The bad: the significant downside of the hotel is that it's located 15-20 minutes walk from the city center or a five minute walk to the bus stop.
