I stayed in the GRL for 3 nights in a business trip. Huge resort with fine details and very helpful staff. We could enjoy great breakfast in a spectacular terrace area, and our event orgnizers created one of the best dinner I ever had. There is also a very nice pool csak 60m long available for the guests of groundfloor rooms. Easy access from the airport, and fascinating view of the sea 30 kms long on the way to Athens ' centre.
A attended a business convention at the Grand Resort Lagonissi, some 40 kilometers outside of Athens. The place is HUGE!! A convention center, many hotel units of various sizes and levels of comfort, restaurants and bars, private beaches, inside roads and large gardens provide for a closed universe to enjoy a get-away vacation in sunny Greece. Nothing is memorable per se, although the place provides all facilities for a peaceful stay. It is easy to drive to Athens at any time of the day, so the place seems ideal for business conventions like the one I attended, where one can be focused on the matters at hand, while still enjoy the benefits of the beautiful surroundings.
Fantastic beaches, tennis, gym, diving, nature, people, location, service - all is five star....Remember that high quality does not come cheap. A perfect trip from Athen Airport and a weekend in the sun
Great location very relaxing as the other reviews have mentioned it does need a bit of sprucing up don't eat here go out to the local restaurants food is well over priced 32 euros for a club sandwich and I have a lot better in a weatherspoon
The location is beautiful. There is so much that could be done here...but the rooms have not been refurbished for over 20 years or so.....it looks and feels unkept. This is supposedly a five star resort but for the prices they charge I would not recommend it. The sunbeds are rusty, I was not happy with the cleaning either......The desserts were outstanding though. I do not know how the pastry chef is, but he must be brilliant. Overall though, the hotel needs a lot of improvements.
The location of the hotel is simply stunning. However, for the prices they charge, I was expecting a lot more. This certainly isn't a luxury hotel!! The rooms are tiny, tired and in desperate need of renovation. The hotel itself is stuck in the 80s! The staff are very pleasant and the service is good (except at the beach bar, where the waiters yell at you when you ask for something!). The beach bar is understaffed and during the busy times, we waited 45 minutes for a drink. Menu is standard and quality of the food is very average. Again, not what you would expect from a 'Leading Hotel'. Spa, like the food and rooms is over-priced for what it is. This is certainly not a 5 star hotel!
Very nice hotel, sublime bungalow rooms, with huge bathrooms, sauna and bubble bath, and great sea view. Big terrace that would need some improvements ( nice lamps, some plants) because it seems empty and dated. Some paintings should be refreshed in the main areas. Very nice choice of private beaches and excellent breakfast
I stayed in a so called Luxury Room and it was not worth the price. It had a very damp smell, there was no complimentary water on arrival. Was extremely disappointed and could not compare it to any other leading hotel of the world that we have stayed in. The bathroom is so tiny and two people cannot be in it at the same time The rooms had no full length mirror. Most hotels take pride in their bed linen, this is not the case here...As for turn down service ..it does not exist!!!! Whereas the service is alright the rooms need a complete do over.
This is not really a review of the hotel itself but a comment (without going into the details) about the fantastic customer service and support that I received from Theodora in the reservations department when I had to cancel my booking due to health reasons. It was so good that I felt that I must post this comment about it ! When my circumstances change we will most definitely re-book and stay at this hotel.
I've stayed in a so called luxury room. It was small, dark and very dated. Bathroom so small two people can not fit inside. Some parts of the garden, around minigolf for example, are completely neglected. There is an abandoned building on one of the beaches. Is this really what leading hotels have become? I've stayed in several LHW properties in the past, and this falls very short of their standards. Or their standards are really slipping. This property has a great location on a beautiful peninsula, but they need a full and complete refurbishment, and not the so called on-going winter refurbishment which they mention
