This hotel is ideally located in the Temple Bar area. It's a couple blocks from the actual Temple Bar, which means there are far fewer crowds but it's only a couple minutes' walk to be in the middle of everything. There were several restaurants and cafes nearby. The room was comfortable and had a combination of upgrades (what looked like new headboards) and worn items (carpet). There was construction happening one floor below us, but that was limited to normal working hours and not an issue. The only real frustration I had was check-in. We dropped our bags at 9:30am and were told they would call us if the room was ready before 3:00. We came back and sat in the bar across from the front desk to wait starting at 2:30, and I still had to ask the after 3:00 if the room was ready and was told it wasn't yet.

The hotel is in a great location and is accessible to many attractions. The room itself was nice, but the hallway had trash outside during the entirety of our visit. The biggest concern was when we did not receive our wake up call. Thankfully, we had our phone alarm set. I think with minor adjustments, this could be a wonderful hotel.

Room was OK.... some evidence of poor housekeeping. Silverfish insects in the bathroom No way to wash hands in warm water as the basin had only hot (which was scalding hot) or cold options and there was no plug provided to allow for filling the basin with warm water for washing hands, or rinsing out small clothing items. Bedding was clean and appeared fresh. The window didn't fully close as the locking mechanism was broken so there was always air coming in effectively moving the curtains. Staff was friendly enough but not overly helpful when we asked about getting a plug for the bathroom basin.

Where to begin, the photos you see on the website are not at all accurate in our experience. Our room was very dated, our shower did not drain properly, we had flies in our room as well as black mold growing next to the radiator. My partner had a severe allergic reaction to the mold. The staff on night shift were very apologetic and bleached the wall for us after viewing my partners swollen face. There were no other rooms available due to the marathon. We checked out in the morning and had to pay for a new hotel at a higher rate (as it was last minute). We had no follow up with the hotel and had to not only email but go back multiple times to ensure a refund would be provided. The manager was helpful and ensured a refund will be processed.

Housekeeping was not done everyday and I had to ask the front desk to have our room cleaned. There was no maintenance person to fix a situation about the drying rack in the bathroom and front desk people tried to fix it to no avail. Food on the breakfast area were dry and felt like they were reheated.

The hotel itself was fabulous, staff were amazing and we were able to check in a little bit early. It’s in a really good location near Christchurch. The only draw back is that since it’s so close to the church you can really clearly hear the bells at every hour and half hour. The street is also very noisy at night with cars and people walking home from pubs and the walls are kind of thin. The room is really nice though and the bathroom with the heated towel rack was a plus. 24hr front desk was really nice, especially for our 5:30 am check out time. Staff made everything very quick and easy for both check-in and out and the luggage drop was a god send.

Fantastic stay. This was my 9th trip to Ireland but first to say at Handel’s. We booked 3 rooms for 6 people. It was a very quiet hotel while being centrally located and could walk everywhere. The staff were great and very friendly! Clean rooms with nice amenities like hair dryer, fan, sitting chairs, wardrobe and water. Will be back!
