Riverview Inn & Suites, an Ascend Collection Hotel
4/5 Good
"I am originally from Rockford so I am aware of the area it’s in. Not the greatest but definitely not the worst area of Rockford. The hotel has been around for a while so it’s a tad dated but they are working on restoring it. Some areas still have the beautiful woodworking! We had a suite that had the upper sleeping area. It was perfect size to have visitors but still a separate sleeping area. I wish the rooms didn’t have carpet (but I don’t think any hotel should have carpet). The linens were the softest towels and sheets I have ever used at a hotel!! The bed was very comfortable but could use a mattress protector on it. The lighting in the rooms could use an upgrade as well it seemed very dark. The desk area didn’t have nearly enough light for my husband to work. The breakfast was the same every morning unfortunately. Would like to see a waffle maker in there. The bistro was great when it was open the food was delicious and reasonably priced. Lastly the pool and exercise room were not accessible. The pool was Closed and that was disappointing. I wished there was a notification prior to booking. It did look nice though! We plan to stay here again it was worth the price and the staff was very pleasant!!"
