If I had not been driving in a terrible storm, I would have turned right back around as soon as I entered the lobby. It is nothing like the photos & I have no idea how it gets a good rating. The website said they accept large dogs but when I arrived they tried to charge an additional $10 on top of the pet fee. Then I was given the first room at the back entrance which had no lock system. The room stunk & was depressing. A few hours after my arrival, I saw on the news they had been robbed at gunpoint! Could hardly sleep & left as soon as I could. Horrible experience.
This hotel was clean roomy. The front desk clerk, Leslie, was very nice and helpful. Free wifi that was fast and reliable. Easy access to the highway. There's a little highway noise but nothing unbearable.
This is not your father's EconoLodge. This property has LARGE clean rooms friendly staff and Southern Hospitality to spare. The morning continental breakfast is comped and features the usual suspects, muffins, bagels and make yourself waffles. The Community Coffee is STRONG. I used Priceline Name Your Price and saved $15.00 over any internet rates. Who doesn't like to save money. Small drawback the mattresses are very firm.
I can't believe the bad reviews! We were very pleased. Front desk lady was super nice! Forgot her name.😩..room very clean, bathroom clean, beds were comfortable. Limited breakfast but did have waffle machine. But breakfast is adequate for sure. A little tricky to get to because you first turn into the gas station convenience store area but not bad. Do not stay at Diamondhead Inn...a real dump....we will definitely stay here again. Have family in Diamondhead.
Well I would tell anyone. "Don't let the pictures fool you." This place is a dump. What we paid for it was fair.. But the place is atrocious. Every floor smells like must a mildew. Upon check in we were given a room next to our family who we were visiting with 214 and 215. Room 215 smelled so horrible I almost had an asthma attack. We went to the front desk and spoke to the man who checked us in. David or Daniel (not sure). First he tried to chalk it up to being because the ocean is so close the rooms have moisture issues. Once I told him the other room that my family had smelled no where near as bad. He said they were full but could move us. I thanked him and he got us in a new room 108. This room was also a double queen at the prize as the king we had resereved. Which was nice of him. But the restroom was gross. The curtain om the shower was full of mold and the tile was missing under the sink that they hid with a trash can. While waiting to change rooms a young kid came in and was very rude to my children telling them "do NoT touch that" you are not to touch that. After being given the key to the room he followed us upstairs while we gathered our things from our families room back down to ours and stood there for atleast 15 mins outside the door. The next day the same thing. We went to the pool and he was all over us screaming and yelling climbing on us and just very rude. On the second day at the pool the whole family went down for a swim after being at the bebeacThe same little boy. Which now we know is the employees son and lives in the hotel came down as well he was all over us once again being very rude to all the children and evem at one point slapped my brother in law in the bacj of his head to gain his attention.. My brother in law being the mam he is just said hey look don't do that that isn't not cool. We got out of the pool soon after and we were glad this trip was coming to an end. The breakfast we ate the first day. Which was nothing special just dry foods, weird banana's, some luke warm yogurt, cereals watered down juice (apple and orange) and a waffle maker. We had waffles. Yuck. Next day we didn't bother. Oh and the first night the pillows they have on the bed are literally like laying on nothing. We went down to ask for extras and the other gentleman that worls here (blonde w blue eyes) got us two more out of what seemed to be a laundry room behind the check im desk and omg the things were yellow compared to the others. I assume this was once a smoking hotel because everythimg still smells and has smoke stains. Ewss. We will choose to stay at the super 8 and days inn on biloxi beach if we ever return ... We have stayed in both several time close to the ocean more pricey but no mildew no smoke and great breakfast choices. Sorry for cheating super 8 and days inn. Never again..
I have been staying at the Econolodge Inn & Suites in Diamondhead MS for the past 7 years- the rooms have all been redone in the past year- the beds are comfortable- its quiet, always clean and the staff Mike, Bradley and Leslie always go above and beyond to make my stay pleasant. This Is my favorite place to stay on the coast It is convenient to Gulfport an Bay St Louis. I highly recommend the Econolodge for your next stay in the area. I would also like to comment on the recent post of smells like a gym locker, during the 7 years of staying here I have never smelled anything such as rotten eggs and also the staff will provide whatever is necessary for your stay,,extra towels, toilet tissue, shampoo.etc.
Had a rather bad experience here. Stayed with some family and we all had a bad experience. The hotel itself was underwhelming. The rooms were, at best, simple and smelly. The hallways were worn and smelly. The staff was horrible. My cousins kids exercise their bowels a lot and we ran out of toilet paper. The front desk staff refused to provide anymore because we were supposed to report this before house keeping left at 3pm. We had to go out and buy our own TP. All of our interactions with the staff were similarly bad. When my family was to leave I was going to remain for a few more nights for business. The staff told me that I could stay if I paid $150 extra because they had not cleaned our room in days because we had left our "do not disturb" sign out. Uh? I pointed out that made no sense, and the front desk guy actually cursed. I did not stay.
No real blankets, water smells like eggs..rotten and taste the same. Staff ok. They open all the doors to air out the rooms during the day....hmmmmm.....guess why! Never again! I constantly added air freshener to the room. Loudest ac I ever have come across besides the stench. Good rate but you get what you pay for! DON'T stay there !
When we arrived. The front desk person was Leslie. She was helping a gentleman in the process of helping him she rudely said can I help you. One of us was at desk and the other lady was looking for bathroom. After she got to me I told her I had Two rooms reserved. Then the lady come from the restroom and told Leslie that the light was not working in the restroom then Leslie said you have to giggle the light bub or the light switch. This is unacceptable. Then told us well it worked Saturday and this is Monday. Then we asked her for one room down stairs and she said that the manager put us on second floor. This is unacceptable also. But later put one of us on the first floor. Hotel was great but Leslie is not a people person and is verry unprofessional.
