The Courtyard Springfield Downtown is unique. Nice rooms and staff is VERY pleasant and courteous. The restaurant is different then other Courtyards I have been too! The Mela restaurant has a nice variety on the menu. Steaks, seafood and even wings. The fried chicken sandwich with coleslaw is superb. Andrew the bartender is very pleasant and great with clientele! Gave the hotel a 5 star for service. Rooms are updated but nothing over the top. Great stay for business travel
The location is a bit clouded until your inside the front doors! Hunter welcomes you, and provides all the expectations of staying in a Marriot. Hit the Bistro next door for food and drinks, a wonderful spa and all the great guests you might admire for a wonderful evening in downtown Springfield! Go for it.
Another good stay with Marriott franchise, friendly staff, clean room, etc. Easy access to freeway and light traffic for most of time Suggest free coffee in the lobby area as no visible coffee shops in walking distance.
The Courtyards are always very consistent and this is no exception. The hotel was was very nice with a beautiful parklike seeing, with a fountain, right in downtown . We were concerned since there was a wedding going on at the hotel, plus another wedding party staying at the site. However the staff was extremely friendly and handed the event masterfully. There is plenty of safe parking on site for ones staying as well as guests for the weddings. The rooms were extremely quiet even though there are train tracks a few yards away. ( Thankfully no train horns while they pass through town). We are so pleased with this location the we already have our reservations to return soon.
Very clean and spacious rooms. Friendly and welcoming staff. Ample and free parking. Location seemed interesting but we were visiting for a family event and didn't get to explore the downtown area. Two reasons I can't give this property five stars: 1) the mediocre and overpriced breakfast. The buffet lacked variety and we probably could have done much better beyond the hotel. 2) The train. If you are a light sleeper tell them you do not want a corner room or try to get something as far from the tracks as possible. Shame I couldn't rest better as the bed was very comfy. Would stay here again but with earplugs.
My husband and I made a last minute decision on a Friday night to head to Springfield Ohio for an event at the Clark County Fairgrounds the next day. It was hard to find any hotel with availability at such late notice, but we got the last room at the Courtyard Springfield Downtown for the night. We pulled in around 10:30 p.m. and were so happy for our queen room. Since we hadn't eaten supper, we went down to the bar, which had a limited, but very nice menu for that time of night. We both ordered the Angus Burger, and it was amazing! We crawled into bed tired, but definately not hungry! And the bed was one of the most comfortable beds we had ever slept in!!!! After a good night's sleep, we enjoyed a short drive to the fairgrounds. We will most definately stay there again the next time we come to Springfield.
Cleanliness always takes first place. But I was surprised by the noise level, we could hear people outside talking and we are in the third floor. Also, can we talk coffee? No more complementary coffee... what?!? But I was willing to pay for that good cup of joe, except it was Starbucks -gross. My suggestion get rid of high priced bitter Starbucks and give good coffee away for free. Not sure we will choose this hotel again.
I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. No complaints. Definitely would stay again. Couldn't even hear the nearby train. Centrally located in the downtown area. Breakfast in the hotel restaurant was great. The only problem was one of the elevators wasn't working.
The people were very friendly and helpful. Good to have a full-service bar on premises, although the draft beers were a little on the expensive side. Food (dinner and breakfast) were good for a hotel, but not exceptional. Would stay again.
Room fair, shower hot, bar empty, draft beer expensive and overall somewhat overpriced for a Courtyard and it wasn't explained that the breakfast buffet not included. It wasn't much anyway and decided to leave and pay for a real breakfast.
