We normally stay in Comfort Inn / Quality Inns and expect about the same level of quality from one city to the next. We didn't think it was a huge gamble to stay at this one, which had a lower than average rate for the area, but I guess you get what you pay for. First, when we arrived, we were told the hotel was overbooked. The clerk did not seem overly concerned or apologetic about this, but she did find us an alternative room. We had booked a room with two queen beds, but the clerk offered us a room with a king bed and a pull-out sofa. That sofa was broken, so we had to be moved to another room. The air conditioning in the new room was not working well, but we were too tired to complain and were not hopeful there would be another option. That said, we slept well and had no further interruptions once we got settled in. It would have been nice to be offered a discount due to them providing us with a different room than what we paid for. The rooms themselves were just so-so, and there was a funky smell when we first went in. Breakfast options very limited. I have stayed in other Comfort Inns and usually have a great experience, so this was disappointing.
Building felt dingy and old, with a funky smell, but we were just passing thru after a long drive that day after a business conferencel.... areas on the wall had been repaired and just the patch repainted (and the paint was a different color than the rest of the wall....gave a feeling of lack of interest to detail). The second floor only had an entrance on the each side, so if you're in the middle, then you have to walk a bit (no problem, unless you are carrying luggage.).. Rooms felt tiny and dark, even though it had a refrigerator behind a door in cabinet and a microwave. Beds were a bit lumpy..but we were so tired after a long drive, it didn't matter. Breakfast left much to be desired, prepackaged danish/muffins, you prepare waffle iron, funky egg 'discs', juices, coffee, 3 or 4 choices of bland dry cereal and packets of oatmeal. Accommodations we ok for just one night sleep after getting in after 8 PM.... best thing about the motel? The Cracker Barrel next door!
We stayed in room 127. The room was very clean and bed was extremely comfortable! We were concerned Bout the stay because there are so many negative comments on here. But because the price was cheaper than most places we could find, it had a hot breakfast and we were only going to be there to sleep, We decided to stay. The room does show some signs of wear but it was just cosmetic. The staff was nice and cordial and accommodating. A lot of times you get what you expect and we did just that. Had a very nice stay. Thank you!
Our stay was June 11. We booked 2 months ago, nobody said anything about construction. When I saw that in lobby, I raised the issue of lower rates, since I could've booked online currently for less. He refused to grant me any, and rewarded me instead with a small bag of chips. Next morning I went to the lobby, and asked where I could read and work my computer. He had one light on in the breakfast nook, so I had to go there. Finding anything on TV was a joke; guide only gave 3-letters for each station, no "info" and a terrible Cisco remote that we not user-friendly. We had to turn the light on constantly to do anything. Just doing a sequential move up the channels was tough--several large gaps in the numbering. It's several miles away from I-75, too. This is not the place, folks!
1) Unsecured room - Upon arrival, assigned room door was not latched and was room was opened by pushing on door. Room door could not latched and room was unsecured. Notified front desk and was told that property was completely booked and another room was not available at this location or in the immediate area. No maintenance on site! I took time and bought tools to remove latch and fixed issue myself after staff said problem could not be identified and new lock would need to be ordered. 2) Room never cleaned by housekeeping and fresh towels had to be obtained from from desk every day, during 3 night stay. Front desk said room number was left off of cleaning list by mistake (2 days in a row), even though property was completely booked. 3) Room air conditioner was not on and room was very warm upon arrival. The air conditioner looked very aged and did not cool the room down properly until the next morning. The hallway was also very warm and the hallway air conditioner was unplugged and the control panel was screwed shut. 4) The rear door to the property was not secured and a rock was found in the door frame. I removed the rock and was able to fully close and lock the rear entrance, which required a card swipe to enter. 5) The bed mattress appeared very aged and the fitted sheet did not properly cover the entire mattress. After a night's sleep, the fitted sheet would no longer be around the corner of the mattress and half of the mattress would be exposed - GROSS! 6) On the day of check in, my credit card was charged the full cost of my 3 night stay. On the day of check out, my credit card was charged an additional $30 when the front desk said I would be receiving a $30 credit for the door lock issue and lack of housekeeping for our room. This property made several additional charges and credits to my card and I am still monitoring to see if charges will be corrected.
I arrived early to check in. The woman working the desk was really nasty in regards to the deposit of $100 for guest using a debit card. I didnt feel the attitude was needed because I misunderstood the process. I told her to cancel my reservation and wouldnt recommand anyone to say there.
This place is seems nice but the manager here is terrible , we travel with little kids and had our reservation but she just refuse to accommodate us because our discount code was not right and she was not happy with our discounted rate. Manager name is Tina, whatever your problem is you need to keep that home , be professional on job and take care of your guest ...never going to come back ...owner needs to workout problem with manager before you loose your business..and yes I am also a hotel owner....if you treat the family travel with 4 and 8 year old like this than all I can say is God Bless You poor soul..go get a life
Family member got local coupon book with no restrictions, good price, clean, easy access from highway, room ok for a night, wifi and TV worked well, many restaurants walkable from hotel (ask about discounts), staff friendly.
Friendly efficient expedited check-in, comfortable accomodations, well-equipped room, very comfortable bed and bedding. Very clean throughout. An above-average property affording a pleasant, comfortable stay!
Pros: Easy access, good location. friendly staff, easy check-in/check-out. Cons: The mattress was hard, the bed sagged in the center from head to foot and a large stain/spill on the footrest near the easy chair.
