Ramada in Cumberland is a favorite among bikers and railfans. It is across a road from the Amtrak station and a short walk into the center of town or the Western Maryland RR with its mallet steam locomotive 1309 (make sure it is running by visiting their website). The hotel is old but the staff and the people who stay there are friendly. The breakfast is functional. Overall the Ramada is an economical way to see the beauty and history of west Maryland.

Room was clean and the staff was helpful. We needed a new TV remote and promptly got one. The building has some very minor cosmetic flaws. But I'll definitely stay here again. The nearby train track was never a noise issue.

I've stayed here on several previous occasions while doing the GAP and the C&O trail and love the location near the Amtrak station. I appreciated the bike room and being allowed to check in just a little early. The check-in was by video which seemed impersonal but it was very efficient and the agent was very friendly.

Room and bathroom was very clean. The female front desk staff member was very rude and snappy. There was no hot water for tea, just coffee for breakfast and only full fat milk.

There was a cracked window in the bedroom, and the finish was peeling off the bathtub. Breakfast, which is included, was very minimal, but was fine. Overall, the room was very clean and spacious. It’s a simple place to stay.

The room was very nice. The hotel is a few blocks away from the GAP/C&O bicycle trail but relatively easy to get to. You can't keep your bicycle in your room but there is a bicycle storage room off of the lobby. There are fast food places nearby.
