The Cumberland inn and spa has so much potential… and yet they do not maintain the property in a manner required.
The bed mattress was well past its lifespan with sagging areas where both of us slept, the smell of room 2 is the most awful smell of cat urine we have encountered. We ended up purchasing candles and febreeze to mark the horrible stench of the room.
Lighting in the room was inadequate and made unpacking etc very difficult.
The cleanliness of the room and bathroom were not well maintained and required us to wipe down all surfaces.
The heat in the room was off and the staff provided a space heater but it could not warm the room sufficiently.
The road noise outside the window is excessive at times with modified cars revving engines at the light near the front of the property at all hours of the night.
The room did not have a refrigerator which could have been helpful for leftovers or drinks.
We still are unclear what is meant by “inn and spa”…. Clearly there is no spa … misleading name.
While we enjoyed our time in Cumberland we were very disappointed with the inn.
