We booked a night on Monday for our anniversary. Our room as basically empty and ‘cold’ we didn’t even have night stands or anything next to the bed. Zero hotel guest amenities. Not even complimentary water bottles. The lamp didn’t work. The hot tub was cold and dirty and the jets didn’t work. The shower in the change room didn’t have hot water. The hot tub towels provided are basically face cloths. TV access is archaic compared to most hotels now days. Bed and pillows were uncomfortable. I’ve stayed at better best western hotels. Nothing provided for our dog (water dish, welcome treat) even though we were charged an additional $50 for a pet friendly room. Super disappointed. Would have stayed else where to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Not worth the price.

The rooms were spacious, needing a little updating but comfortable and quiet. We enjoyed the outdoor pool and two hot tubs on the property. It was a lovely space and beautiful grounds.

We were booked for a 5 night stay. For 2 of these days our room was not made up. On one of these occasions we found the housekeeping staff and had the room done. We still had to go to the front desk to obtain coffee for our room. The soap dispenser was broken in the bathroom. The dinner in the dining room was excellent but breakfast was slow with poor service. We requested water 3 times. We loved the location but overall we were disappointed.

My wife and I recently spent 2 nights at this magnificent hotel and golf resort (Aug.9th and 10th) We stayed in the beautifully restored old residential school building Which I would recommend over the new building associated with the casino. We live in Victoria and have stayed in many Fairmont hotels over the years and love the Empress hotel. This hotel reminded us of the Empress right down to the spectacular ivy covered stone facade beautifully highlighted by lighting at night, and the grand front entrance. The hallways were wide and beautifully appointed with furniture and oriental carpets in the manner of old world European hotels. The room was lovely with a comfortable king sized bed, generous storage and updated bathroom. The heating/cooling was flawless but what I liked best was the fact that the windows opened to let in the night breezes - and no bugs! The view from our rear facing room was overlooking the golf course. We had a magnificent meal in the hotel restaurant which again wasn't expected. The wine list was excellent and I had a wonderful bison short ribs while my wife had a lovely brined chicken. The golf course was very well maintained, and the design was both forgiving and challenging. The power carts had excellent on board distance gps. And the fees were a real bargain. I am determined to bring a group of my golfing partners on a golf trip through the interior and stay here for a few rounds. So there it is - a fantastic find on our trip to Calgary

We had a comfortable stay here. We don’t golf or go to casinos so can’t comment on the amenities but it was a quiet comfortable location to stay at while visiting the area.

There were a couple of maintainenance issues - the safe & blow dryer were nonfunctional. Perhaps do a room check prior to unpacking. Otherwise this resort is a hidde gem that I would recommend. I would never have known there was even s casino there!
