Food not very good, room very hot , would go back with down stairs room

The hotel is across the street so the photo is deceiving. There is good snorkling a ways down the road. We were moved once because AC didn't work, staff was very nice and accomodating. We had a scorpion in our room that a guy removed forus so just be careful. I would rate the hotel a 2 star hotel not really a 3. Old tube tv's, etc.

We stayed at Villa Blanca 4/1/17 through 4/8/17 in the superior rooms ground floor. The grounds were nice and well taken care of. The rooms are attractive older style Mexican with some arches and tile floor in room. Bed was comfortable, good AC, fridge, small flatscreen, nice bathroom, tiled shower, good hot & cold water. Although it was next to the road I heard very little road noise. About the 4th day, I noticed some pretty nasty stains on the fabric bordering the bed base, and some mold underneath it. It obviously hadn't been cleaned or replaced in months. Really gross. Also of note, the housekeeper, while nice, didn't clean the floor too well. We both noticed that even after cleaning, if you walked across the floor your socks were brown from dirt, etc. We also had trouble connecting with the onsite restaurant. They didn't open early enough (7am)in the morning for us to eat there before diving. We also found it difficult to get a bite to eat in the afternoon, twice I was asked to come back later. Both of these issues would be easy to fix. We would liked to have had a water dispenser in the hallway

Great place for scuba divers! Five dive shops on the road and five restaurants near by. Staff is very helpful. Good rooms with TV and fridges. But not perfect! Our room had low water pressure!

Nice hotel, big bed room with sofa and AC. Quiet. A bit far from downtown. We rented a scooter so it was easy to get around everywhere from the hotel. quite big parking space in front.

Despite what is advertised, there is no internet in the rooms. The rooms are comfortable, but dated and my smelled strongly of mildew.

Have stayed here before and everything was just fine.

Management very helpful with a issue with room upon check in. They were also proactive when a rental car arrived, and we didn't want it due to mechanical issue. This is a basic beach hotel, kept nicely, pride of ownership shows on grounds. Location for me, a walker, perfect. Nice stroll into town but removed from the noise of town and cruise ships. Loved the access to snorkeling, average snorkel area but so handy. Good restaurants nearby....good diving hotel and good getaway hotel for those seeking economy, quiet and relaxation.

Great little family run Hotel. Across the street from the water. Nice restaurant. Our 6th trip and we will be back.

Great location for divers with 4 dive shops. This place is really set up for diving and for people that want to be a little away from town and cruisers Hotel close to beach, but pretty good walk to downtown.

First of all, in the description for the superior room was showing "Free continental breakfast" but they didn't give us free breakfast. That was disappointing, because that was one of the reason we chose this hotel. Their "WiFi" is very slow. We had to go to Starbucks to get descent WiFi. The room was spacious and equipped with nice size refrigerator, which I liked. I didn't like the foul smell from the drain in the bathroom but the bathroom was spacious. We enjoyed snorkeling right in front of the hotel. That was very nice.

Good Location, Room was very clean, friendly staff. The water was walking not running and warm at its best in the middle of the day. Allow 10 minutes for the warm water to arrive in your room before getting in the shower. The room I had was off a hallway. Voices were amplified into the room from passers by. Payed for the upgraded room but did not get it, Dont bother.

This would be great place for a bunch of guys to hang out for a week to dive, but don't take your wife to the Villablanca unless her standards are very low. The hot tub was never hot, never had beach towels clean, rooms look like the 1950's. On the plus side good location and a great bar-resturant accross the street.......

Beautiful setting, quiet, very accommodating, and everyone was helpful and kind. Alburto owner of the restaurant there was amazing. They have a barbeque on Sunday night which was delicious. If you like to snorkel and dive this is the place for you. It is close to everything. There is a great restaurant across the street also I like it here because it is away from all the hustle and bustle from downtown and all the people from the cruise ships. We took the Pirate Dinner Cruise which was amazing. We took the tour to Chichen Nitza which was wonderful. We took a jeep tour which was awesome. All our tour guides were wonderful. We also went to Money Bar to snorkel and to Paradise Island to swim. I can't wait to go back. Thanks so much for my wonderful dream trip to Cozumel and making it a reality. The rooms were clean and spacious and very cool. Had a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, but we were so busy we only used it a few times. Great people work here.

When we checked in we requested a microwave and received it almost immediately, staff came back moments later with a table to put it on. I was impressed with the service we received during our entire trip. Hotel is not fancy but very adequate for our needs. Breakfast was included in the price, basic but good. Arturo was always nearby to make sure everything was okay. Cold A/C and always hot water. I would stay here again.

Pros: Location (out of town and fairly quiet, beach access) and pool, hot tub, nice size room with fridge and air condit. Great towel art from the maids. Has all the basics for enjoyable stay. Generous size tub/shower. BEST PART... ocean view and just a 15 second walk to beach across the street along with bar/rest. and snorkeling and dive shops right there. Gardens and grounds manicured and lovely. The staff try hard to follow through with requests. Cons: Maids are older and cleaning is poor (toliet and mirror, and some surfaces dirty all week, fridge was filthy and very noisy). Water in sink and shower were slightly salt water not fresh. Incentives given in online ads when booking trip were not followed through on (did not receive room upgrade was the big one for me) but somehow we got free breakfast everyday which wasn't advertised on our plan. Overall... we like it here, but we are simple people easy to please. If you expect US standards... look elsewhere.

Villa Blanca Garden Beach provided just that! We stayed 7/5-15/2014 and could not have asked for a better experience. We have been here before (January) but not in July so didn't really know what to expect with that being low season on the island. We requested a room on the ground floor by the restaurant and that's exactly what we had. The room was clean and stayed that way everyday with fresh bedding and towels daily. Rooms have TV (some new flat screens)and a refrigerator. I wish they had microwaves but oh well. We stock water, beer and ice ourselves and some snacks. A concern was as big as the room was would the AC keep it comfortable? Well the first night we ran the AC and ceiling fan and woke up looking for covers, kept changing the setting on the mini-split and after 3 days found a setting we agreed on. The tile floors even made your toes cold. The pool and restaurant were right out our door and the pool was refreshing, Sunday night the restaurant had a "Mexican" Bar-B-Que and it was great All you wanted, there was a huge assortment and so much we never tried it all. There is a Jacuzzi in the courtyard surrounded by beautiful gardens, we watched everyday as the crew watered, trimmed and picked up from morning until dark. The maids left the towel animals every day and we had red hibiscus flowers in the room daily. We had a car so we ventured out daily and visited around the island, ate at several great places, and met lots of interesting people. It seemed we met more first time visitors than we ever have on winter trips and that's great. We recommend Villa Blanca to everyone as it is located between town and the cruise ports. There are dive shops on site and a little beach across the street with several options for food and drink all with in easy walking distance. If your looking for a dive base or just lounging around this is a great spot to R&R.

Used mostly by the scuba crowd, so it's pretty quiet - not many kids. Midway between the two big cruise ship docks, walkable to town and all amenities. Parking can be a hassle. Staff is friendly and helpful. They'll refill your water bottle at the front office if you ask, and reasonably priced fresh dinners are available if you notify them that you'll be eating there.

People are wonderful in Cozumel and it is beautiful. Left a larger and newer resort to stay for two nights prior to leaving. Although the hotel is not new, it was a clean and decent place with an older Spanish Villa "feel". Good to stay for a very brief time or if mainly sleeping and needing quick access to diver options on this area of the island. This is primarily a diver resort and some guests were very loud but the management immediately upgraded us to a small villa to make us comfortable!

Don't expect five-star luxury. You need to go to the all-inclusive places for that. But for what you pay here, it's a clean, comfy place away from the cruise ship crowds but easily walkable to town (20 minutes.) One oddity is the salt water showers. Takes some getting used to.
