Hotel is a great choice if you want to be downtown and don't need/want to be on a beach. Great rooftop pool area, friendly staff, safe and clean.

This hotel is lose to the beach with friendly staff and short walks to restaurants, bars & convenience stores. The breakfast was better than we expected with variety and endless morning coffee. We plan to return to this hotel again!

I stayed at this hotel for the first time and I was happy with the rooms and treatment from the front desk...in addition to it breakfast was good...I would come back here in the future...

Very central location, inexpensive, convenient, includes breakfast. For the price, you can't ask for more.

Clean with a good location that is close to everything Centro. Good breakfast and a nice rooftop pool which was great for sunning swimming and socializing with fellow guests. Housecleaning went over and above with a five dollars tip daily. Would return without hesitation.

very adequate for a trip room lacks ambience but pool is great

Staff friendly, understand English. Scooter rental is around the corner. Location is central... roof top pool is a bonus

Great people. Good breakfast. Great location. Had a great time.

My second stay at this cute hotel. They are really friendly and accomodating. It is not plush but comfortable. A rooftop pool with panoramic view, free delicious breakfast each and every morning, 2 PCs with wifi, Wifi everywhere (except pool on roof)

Not my first stay or review of this hotel and as usual it was very good. Staff is always friendly and helpful. The maid was very attentive to the door tag of do not disturb or please clean my room. She always was prompt and did an excellent job. Was always interesting to see what new creative towel animal would be on the bed each day. The breakfast (included w/room) every day was very good and the options were several. Probably 6-8 different selections each day, along with fresh fruit options of watermelon, cantaloupe, honey dew, mango, pineapple, etc.. All prepared to order, so was always hot and delicious. They have refrigerators in each room so if you are there for an extended stay it is nice to be able to got the store and stock up on snacks and sandwich makings and also keep drinks cold. One suggestion might be, they do have an ice machine and that would be nice, but cannot say it is super critical since there is a convenience store about 3 doors down the street, probably 100 ft, max and ice is less than $1 for a bag. They have a pool on the roof and the view is fantastic, at least if you do not look straight down. Looking out east is over the local ferry pier and the beautiful water towards Playa del Carmen. Straight down is surrounding rooftops and a bit trashy there. All other directions are over the city. One other surprise is the aroma in the air every morning. There is a bakery in the first floor of the building and waking up to the smell of fresh bread baking is a bit surprising/amazing. The pool is a big plus for the hotel and one of the few older downtown hotels that has one. I have never seen it crowded at the pool, in fact during my stay there were several days when my companion and I were the only people at the pool. Over all, if you are not a 5 star type guest, but enjoy the convenience of being downtown within walking distance of at least a dozen, if not more restaurants with bars, endless shopping and just people watching in general, this is by far the best place for you from every standpoint, value, amenities, convenience and staying in a local environment. By the way, you can also practice your Spanish, since ONLY the front desk speaks English.

I really did like this place alot. The suite had 2 nice bedrooms along with a nice kitchen area. Plus the rooftop pool was fantastic. Breakfast was free in the lobby and made to order omlettes etc. I prefer these types of hotels that are unassuming and down to earth. Right next door is a bakery. Wow the daily aroma of fresh baked breads and pastries was great. No need for a taxi because you are 1 block from the ferry. It's right downtown near everything including the ocean. I highly suggest it.

Decent value hotel, with good location. Nothing fancy but clean.

No complaints during my two week stay . Nice view of the ocean and ferry terminal from the room. My room was very private and had good internet service . They served a great breakfast included in the rate . Great pool on the top of the hotel with views of the ocean and town . I was in off season so there were fewer people in the hotel .

I had a great time at this place! It truly is the center of everything! Downtown in the middle of shops and restaurants, a block from the ocean (AND an ocean view from my window!!) right by the ferry port, all in walking distance! My room was comfortable and clean, and loved the pool on the roof (where I watched a gorgeous sunset!) !! Breakfast was ok, though for complimentary price, I cant complain! Would definitely come back and stay at this place!

Nice hotel, centrally located in the town but with sea and city views over rooftops, nice clean rooms although the beds are extremely hard, we bought a couple of foamies from the Mega which made a big difference and was worth doing but that really was our only issue with the hotel, a balcony for drying dive gear would have been nice but not a big deal. There is a pool and roof terrace which was a bonus and we spent a morning up there when we had some time to spare, also great spot to have a beer and watch the cruise ships before heading out in to the town for dinner, tip.. eat local, Machete was a great local restaurant where the food was good and inexpensive. Breakfast is also included at the hotel, pleasantly surprised with fresh baked bread rolls, yoghurt, and various cooked items, small informal area to eat then it's off to the beach. We really liked the hotel and the staff were always helpful and friendly, tipped the maid each day so when we wanted towels or more water nothing was too much trouble, top marks. On the whole we will be going back to this hotel, it was quiet yet right in the middle of everything, also if you hire a car there is a car park right opposite, a little haggling and you can get 24hrs parking for $10.00 US so for us $100.00 to park the car for the entire holiday was great!

Great location if you want to be in town. The rooftop pool is a nice bonus. Older hotel and breakfast was okay but would definitely stay here again.

Very nice staff. Super location. Never had to get a taxi.

this was my second time staying at the hotel. i love the location . it is easy walking distance to all the downtown stores , bars, and night clubs. the breakfast they serve is very good with many choices of food and juices. the people at the front desk are always friendly and helpful, the rooms are kept clean and the cleaning staff will accomadate you if you like to sleep in or need a early cleaning. for the money it is a very good hotel

We really like the hotel due to its location close to the square, and our favorite dive shop. Wet Wendy's is right behind it for great evening fun. The pool on the roof is awesome in the evening to watch the sun set. The staff is very friendly. Breakfast is good.

1/2 block from ferry to Playa del Carmen. 1 block from town square. 70 pesos cab ride to the airport. Museum & Municipal Market within 1/2 mile each direction. I found the food court @ the market to be a good value. At 1 booth there must have been about 20 different kinds of taco fillings, about 10p/taco. (Make sure you had your shots!) You can buy a beer in the store down the street & drink it there...& try the Yucatan Pork chops for 55 pesos. ($5) I love the orange marinade.
