We were surprised at how nice the hotel was for the money charged.

Great location and great price. It is located in the heart of downtown. You’ll have shopping and dining located outside the front door. They offer a communal fridge to store food and drink and everyone is respectful of others items. If I had to pinpoint one negative aspect, our double bed room had the ac located directly above one of the beds (that person was very cold). Make sure to ask the front desk for tips on tours and dining.

Property was close to downtown amenities, could walk to everything. Quiet.

Location is perfect to spend some time downtown. East walk to many restaurants and bars.

Close to bars, resturants and shopping. I will stay there again.

Felt safe and comfortable here as a single person traveling for a race. Gracious and helpful staff, from the front desk, to cooks, to housekeeping, to custodians— EVERYONE was so kind. Walking distance to the ferry. Room was very clean and big, had a cool and quiet AC, and spacious bathroom. Standard breakfast with eggs/omelets as requested, pancakes, yogurt, granola, etc. (you can pre-pay or pay at check-in). I cooked in the communal kitchen almost every night, which had basic cooking supplies so I didn’t have to buy any. My only suggestions to the next traveler: 1) the hot water for the shower takes a few minutes to warm up, 2) the room is dark, but the AC power light is bright, so bring an eye mask if you don’t want a night light, and 3) the hotel is configured around a central courtyard (beautiful), but that means common space near your room door, so bring ear plugs if you are sensitive to noise. I had no problems sleeping before my race and loved my stay.

This is a cute little hotel in a great location. My room was very clean and quiet although both mornings I was woken up early by some kind of noise or machinery that was either in the hotel or close by. If you like to sleep in I suggest earplugs.

Quaint, charming hotel, very friendly staff, centrally located in a pedestrian only area. Way better than supporting a corporate chain. We had a family of 4 with 2 kids (8 & 12)

This is a very pleasant hotel very conveniently located in San Miguel. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Emillo made me feel welcome as soon as I arrived. The room was very clean and comfortable. The AC worked well. I could detect no street noise from my room. The room was painted in cheery colors and had nice tile accents. There were good reading lights by the beds. The courtyard is a pleasant place to sit and read or talk with travel companions. Just a block down the street is a convenience store and there are restaurants close by. When I was getting ready to leave, I asked at the desk about finding help with my rather heavy bags to the ferry dock (only about 4 blocks- 300 m away). Jose, asked what time I was leaving, and then said since he would be off work then, he'd do it. How NICE and clearly outside his job description. If and when I come back to Cozumel, I will try to stay here again.

7 minute walk from ferry terminal, right off main square of town...near lots of shopping. The staff at Mary Carmen are friendly and eager to please, offering information on activities. We stayed for five nights and enjoyed not only the included continental breakfast, but also the kitchen facilities available for guests use. Many restaurants and dive shops nearby. We even found a few swimming spots along the main boulevard (no sand) just a 10 min walk away. Keep in mind this is NOT a resort, but a clean option in the budget hotel category in a very convenient location. We would not hesitate to stay at the Mary Carmen again.

I stayed at Hotel Carmen on a Monday night in February. The room was very clean. The knowledgeable hotel clerk gave me a recommendation for dinner and for going to the beaches the next day. They were superb recommendations. I loved how the Hotel is near the central park and the ports. I slept well. The whir of the fan blocked out all street noise.

This isn't a 5 star luxury resort, and folks critical of it should not expect it. The hotel is a simple no drill stay. The place is clean and wel kept, and the staff is friendly. They serve a simple continental style breakfast each morning if you are into that sort of thing or you can always take a 5 minute walk to several breakfast joints. Will definitely stay here again given the outstanding price!

Great hotel for the diver and people who like being close in town near great food, music, and shops. No frills but clean and comfortable. Tv works well. Value is outstanding.

Hotel was good. Beds were horrible. If you like sleeping on concrete or plywood, this is your place. Ill see my chiropractor Friday. No hot water 1/2 trip as well.
