The only truth about the description listed is the location. Location is walking distance from everything. The rest is completely false! No room service, no coffee shop/cafe, no kitchen or space to spread out for dining as described! The kitchen is a small fridge nothing else not even a coffee maker or microwave. Definitely no mini bar. No pillow top beds, hardest bed I have ever slept in. Free wifi only in the lobby, no mini golf. You can't even lay at the pool unless you buy food or drinks from the restaurant that runs it. Which is separate from the hotel. You also can not lay in the lounge chairs on the patio outside the pool area unless you again buy food or drinks from restaurant. The hotel has rented the whole area to them. Waste of money find a different hotel

Older hotel in immaculate condition. Scuba on premises. Snuba next door at Jeannie's. Great for any meal. 2 blocks from downtown. Food and drinks good but pricey. Lounge chairs needed upgraded. Tables and chairs plentiful with umbrellas.

We did not like the agreement the hotel made with the bar/restaurant you had to purchase something every day at the bar/restaurant to have access near the pool and beach area! This would be illegal here in the U.S. I think It's very tacky. The WiFi we used was associated with the bar/restaurant, we had to purchase something every day or we didn't have anywhere to go online except the very small lobby which was the location of the hotel's WiFi. I understand this hotel is mainly for divers and maybe they don't care about their bar bill or WiFi or the pool area but we are travelers and we do care. I would not recommend this hotel. We told them we had ants in the room and nothing was done to eliminate them. We saw a number of large cockroaches and their answer was to step on them! This hotel has a good location but so does many other nice hotels in the area, we will start trying some new ones near downtown. Taxi's are very high to get to the good beaches like Paradise, it was about $20.00 each way. We will not be going back to Cozumel for quite some time, people were generally nothing like they used to be, helpful, kind, etc. Almost everyone seemed greedy and rude this trip, very disappointing. Before I left the hotel manager asked if I left a tip for the maid, I have never had this before, that's up to the individual however I do always tip the maid because they are low paid. We did try out the buses and really enjoyed the city tour they provided, when you can take it bus, it's 8 pesos!

We've been staying at hotel Barracuda since 1990. It is Clean, comfortable and right on the water. Best dive shop on the island, Dive Paradise, has a shop in the building and boats pick up divers on the dock at the hotel. Swim up bar and restaurant. Clean pool. Gregorio and Juan at the front desk are great!

This hotel is not big on luxury, but then the price reflects that idea. All rooms have a beautiful ocean view, the hotel is located close to nice restaurants within walking distance, scheduling activities is easy, and there is a large grocery store right across the street. Money exchange is also within walking distance. My fiancé and I would return again.

Had a peeping Tom in our original room, hotel took care of us. Upgraded to a beach front room, happy with that. No Name bar pretty much controls pool area, we bring an ice chest and spend our days in the sun. Bar would only allow us to stay in certain area, I paid my money, one would think you could sit anywhere on hotel property. Not the case, stayed several times, but this was the last....would not recommend.

Close to down town, not a lot to the place your basic room

No crystal chandeliers, but if you want a bargain great room this is it. Older, but on the water, dive boats pull within feet of your door, rooms are well kept, neat and clean. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. It's just a good bed with ceiling fan and small refrigerator, but right across the street is Mega, and everything else is within a very close walking distance. Right in town at Punta Longsta you just can't beat the Barracuda for a great bargain and a great place to stay

It was my first time at this hotel, recommended to me by others and I must say that I plan to come back on another mission. The location, the food sold at the hotel's bar, ease of commute to town and ease of dealings w/ the dive operator makes this hotel a very good choice. I'll be sure to tell other divers going down to Coz to check it out.

Awesome location. Good snorkeling. Nice pool with good food. Great sunsets. Easy walk to town. Dated rooms. Desperate need of new mattress'.

Enjoyed my stay. Room was very basic and clean. Mattress was a little saggy. Air conditioning worked well. Great sea view from the balcony. Nice swimming out front. Good food and drinks from the bar. Lots of young people around all day, who were cruise ship workers who hang out at the bar all day. Good location, close to lots of bars and restaurants., and a huge grocery store across the street.

Wonderful ocean view! Clean room friendly staff. Gets a little loud at the bar at night so turn on the A/C if you go to bed early to drown out the party.

If you're looking for a clean beachfront room and a short stroll from your room overlooking the pool to the pier for your daily dive...its great. Everything is close...another big plus.

The Hotel Barracuda is right on the water, directly across the street from Mega Supermarket and within easy walking distance of the ferry dock, shops, and restaurants of San Miguel, Cozumel. It has its own dock where dive operators and boat tours pick up. Dive Paradise is on-site. The "beach", pool, and restaurant are leased and operated by No Name Bar, but hotel guests are welcome to use them. The hotel provides free wi-fi in the lobby. Our room was less satisfactory than the hotel in general. On the plus side, we had a comfortable bed, a seaview balcony, space for hanging clothes, a refrigerator, and daily maid service. But the housekeeping quality was spotty., there was almost no space in the drawers, and the shower-head was in desperate need of replacement. There were no screens on the window or balcony door. Because of this, we had to keep the door and window closed and the loud, inconsistent-temperature air conditioner running all of the time. There was no safe in the room. We could deposit valuables in a safe at the front desk, but could only access them during limited hours and had to pay an additional fee for the privilege. There was no phone in the room. The front desk clerk was happy to place calls for us, but we had to pay an additional fee for that service too. There was also a fee for drinking water.

This is a no-frills hotel with some good features. We chose it for location and convenience. We walked to restaurants and shopping. There is a huge Mega store across the street, similar to a Super Target. Taxis are always available. There is a dive shop on premises, and the dive boats pick you up at the hotel dock. The staff is helpful. The rooms are clean. There is no beach to speak of along this part of the island, but there are enclosed sandy areas for sunning, and you have access for swimming off the dock. But if strolling in the surf at sunset is important, go elsewhere.

Great location right next to town and on the ocean.

Hotel itself has great location, very clean and friendly staff. Bed was beyond horrible, I've stayed in many hotels on Coz. This is, by far, the worst bed I've ever experienced. Even after buying a pad from Mega, still miserable. That said, everything else about the hotel was great for a diving couple.

Great little hotel with AMAZING views. Perfect for any trip to Cozumel. Walking distance to town and near lots of great eateries.

They stoled $1598 out of the envelope they provided to put in their safe. After I called the police and yelled at the manager several times they gave me my cash back. It was on the last day of the trip and ruined my nice vacation feeling. They had to pay because I had a reciept according to the police. The manager agreed to pay the dive shop the $1000. I had to yell before he finally gave me my money. That is not good business.

Close to town, dive operators, restaurants, shopping. Good restaurant on site. Good outdoor lounging area and pool. Responsive staff. Clean rooms. Big convenience and grocery store across the street. Small in room frig.
