Very pleasant, great helpful staff, just steps from all cork has to offer. Car park a bit tight with construction going on, but staff helpful and.monitored double.parked cars so everyone could get in and out.
Dated but clean. Good price for a conveniently located hotel with a pool.
We were put on the fifth floor which obviously has water pressure problems. We had no hot water at night. Our shower was broken from the very beginning so instead of fixing it we had to go to an empty room to take a shower. The reception people were nice but didn't seem terrible concerned about fixing the problem. Because they were fully booked we could not move to another room for two days. One manager said we would be compensated for our troubles but we were not. The only good thing about this hotel for us was the location in relation to the city centre.
This hotel was in a great location after spending the day at Blarney Castle. Just a very short walk to the Center of Cork which is quite lovely. The hotel was European charming, the room adequate and the restaurant was simply OK. The staff didn't smile much but then they were tolerating the crowds for the football finals. Parking was a huge issue. The hotel has very very minimal parking so you are left to find street parking which is somewhat of a nightmare on a Saturday night!
My husband & I had a nice stay here. The rooms were spacious and a large comfy bed. The hotel was close to downtown & walking distance to restaurants & pubs. The hotel staff was kind & helpful.
Parking in limited to about 15 cars, you will have to park on the street or in a garage near the hotel, both which the hotel does not pay for.
This hotel was difficult to find until we saw a tiny sign pointing us the right direction. The parking lot of the hotel is a free for all and very tight. At check in the staff was not very friendly. The hotel smells like smoke when you walk in. The elevators did not feel super safe and were very rickety. The carpet in our room was a light color and did not look clean at all. We had an okay view and it was a somewhat short walk to the heart of things so those were the only two positive things I can say.
This is a very basic budget hotel - a step above a hostel, to be sure, but basic. It's in a great location - an easy walk to pretty much anything in Cork - the staff were helpful and friendly, and it was relatively inexpensive. But you're probably not going to want to spend a whole lot of time relaxing at the hotel. Rooms were basic and a little tired looking: there was a hairdryer. We had to ask to get towels as they only provided one for two people. No shampoo or anything provided; be sure to bring your own. There's a tiny old school tv (we had some trouble working ours). Internet is available in the lobby but not in the rooms. The bar was very no frills: a fine place to have a pint while you check your email, but not much atmosphere. We didn't eat at the restaurant or check our the fitness area, so I can't speak to that. The menu at the restaurant seemed expensive and it's just a plain room. We weren't even tempted to try it. Parking on site was a definitely bonus. The bottom line is that if I had to do it over I would probably spend a bit more to stay in a nicer hotel, but this is ok if you're on a tight budget and get a good price.
Not what I expected, average rooms/ameneties but excellent staff.
