I had a guaranteed reservation confirmation number R21500. upon check in, they could not find reservation. They had one room let they took from someone else that hadn't shown. My reservation was for May 6-8. The room they gave me was a smoking room, coughed during entire stay. Phone did not work in room, front desk made aware, never fixed. Front desk had to come fix tv. We arrived at 12:30 am May 7, finally got in room at 1:30am after a seven hour drive. front desk kept having to call her manager. Rooms needs painting pool was dirty. Passed my concerns to front desk, they said would let manager know, never heard anything from general manager.
I stayed there one night. The king size bed was surprisingly comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was better than most with biscuits and gravy, grits, eggs, bacon along with the usual fare. The shower was fine and Karen who works at the desk was very helpful getting us checked in early. Would stay there again. The room could use a little sprucing up and could stand a good deep cleaning. As an added bonus they even had beer on tap for the thirsty travelers.
Hotel has outside opening doors, the outdoor areas needed maintenance. The beds were the best part as they were very comfortable. Rooms were fairly clean not spotless, decor is dated. Breakfast was average but had signs limiting to one serving no seconds. Staff was friendly.
Overall I really enjoyed my stay here. One of the better breakfast I've had in my many years of working on the road. The beds are really comfortable, housekeeping has worked with me around my schedule and my 2 month olds sleep schedule. The staff is friendly and quick to resolve any issues I had during my stay. There was some remodeling going on during my several weeks stay.The work areas were well kept and clean unlike most remodel projects.
I stayed in mid November for four nights and again in mid December for three nights. The first visit there was a new manager (I have stayed there previously) and he was making upgrades to the location. I had no problems in the previous stays and the manager took time to make sure I had no problems. There was a leak in the sink but when told about it the clerk moved me to another room immediately and I saw a repairman working in that room the next day. On my last visit the breakfast area had been reworked and while upgrade signs like paint were about, there was no interference at all with my stay.everyone from the cleaning people to the front desk staff made me feel like I was one of their friends. For the money, I would stay again in a heartbeat.
I booked two nights here thru Booking.com who advertise "your credit card will not be charged prior to your stay." River Chase Inn charged my card for one night a month ahead of my stay, which I did not find until my statement came. They also charged me for two nights when I checked out. I called them, notified them of the error and asked for a refund. I was told the "manager" would review the charge and call me. It's been a week and still no call. I just called the manager (Wayne) and he said he was aware of my request but "forgot." I still have no idea if/when I wll get my refund.
The good: 1. Staff always friendly and courteous (except when discussing online booking). 2. Breakfast was outstanding! 3. Location off interstate but not noisy next to restaurant and gas station. 4. Price. 5. Pet friendly for $10/day. The bad: 1. Carpets need replaced--so nasty we could not go barefoot. Please put pet fee charges on new carpeting. 2. Requested non-smoking and fought smoke odor the whole time. 3. Wireless signal so poor used internet from hotel across the road. 4. Requested handicap accessible and was put into room barely accessible with wheelchair right outside the pool.
it is an older hotel, but room was neat and clean. The breakfast was very similar to most comparable hotels. Biscuits and gravy, sausage and eggs, pancake maker, etc... We had about 75- 100 folks in our group there and everyone seemed pleased. we will return in the future for other events.
We stayed here once back in august and had a wonderful experience. Good pricing and easy interstate access. However the second time was terrible. Not only was the continental breakfast pretty much nonexistent and cold, They promised us 2 rooms for $50 a night for 2 nights totaling just over 200$. We ended up getting charged over $400!!!! They wouldn't refund it. And when we called and questioned them they were unreasonably rude. We would never stay here again.
I saw some of the less than stellar reviews only after I checked into this hotel and for the life of me cannot see any of the problems they cite. The room was clean, the breakfast was decent and I liked that they have a fitness room with a TV., The lobby includes a business center and the staff was super courteous. As it is Columbus, Mississippi, I found this hotel to be a real pleasant stay.
