Last October I made a reservation for 2 suites for 2 nights beginning May 2 to attend graduation at MSU. With a paper copy of the reservation confirmation in hand, I called the hotel on Monday, April 29 to confirm directly with them. The hotel had no record of my reservation. I called the Holiday Inn reservation number and was informed I did indeed have a reservation, however, the hotel CANCELLED the reservation on April 13. In talking with the GM he thought it might be a computer glitch due to storms in the area the night of April 13. Really??? Storms that only impacted my reservation?? In a final email from the GM I was informed “We've coordinated with IHG on this investigation and they could not come to any conclusion to why your reservation was cancelled.” So, I am coming to the to the conclusion the hotel just randomly cancels reservations to benefit themselves, especially on busy, sold out dates.

The front desk gentleman was great. The first room’s tv did not work. After new batteries he moved me to another room where the ac did not work. Also, the bedside lights were broken. Why pay these prices for this?

After reading many reviews, this appeared to be the best option in Columbus, MS. I’d say the hotel is a solid 4 stars. The only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the floors could have been cleaned better. One of the elevators had footprints during our entire visit AND the floor in our bathroom looked like it would have benefited from a good mopping. The rest of the hotel looked clean and modern. The beds in the room were surprisingly high (I guess that’s a good thing). The pillows were the best I’ve experienced in a hotel. This hotel is a great option for families with kids because a full and free breakfast was provided. The egg white omelets, bacon and Canadian bacon were all good…and the cinnamon rolls are amazing! The breakfast attendant kept everything stocked and continuously asked guests if there was anything else she could get them. Above all, I was really impressed with the level of customer service throughout our stay. I would definitely consider staying here again.

We were rececntly in town for MSU's graduation and booked this hotel. Check in was really easy and the staff were really nice. Likewise, check-out was also smooth and the staff polite. The room itself was clean and the bed was comfortable. The only issue that I had was the breakfast selection. It was very limited and didn't really have a variety of offering. However, what they did have was good.

Our aunts stayed in this hotel and loved how nice it was. They said their room was nice and everything was very clean. We were really excited to stay there the next night. The hotel does advertise as pet friendly on TripAdviser, but we weren’t allowed to get a room. If you need a pet friendly hotel, just know that you’ll have to book somewhere else. The Hyatt Place has pet friendly rooms and it’s close by. We were told that it’s the only pet friendly hotel in that area, so I would definitely call ahead and book to avoid not having a room.

We stayed here while visiting our daughter in college at the “W”. Everything was perfect. The beds slept amazing. The bathrooms are spacious and very clean. I like that their bath products are Bath and Body Works. The towels are big, fluffy, and soft. The breakfast was plentiful and great too. We will be back. Thanks for a great stay!

We were there to drop her daughter off at Mississippi State University. When we got there was really late so we checked in but the next day when we were there the Renzo was working the front desk I talked to him and then all of a sudden he remembered me from when I was there almost a year ago. That to me tells me that he pays attention and he cares about the customers that come in and out of that hotel I can just say that he is a Class Act he made my family feel welcomed and every time I'm in Mississippi I'm going to make sure I stay there at that hotel because of Lorenzo. Not to take away from anyone but the breakfast lady and I'm so sorry I do not know her name she is so caring and it's genuine it's not fake. Even though it's like a 20 minute drive from Starkville I don't care I'll always stay at that Holiday Inn in Columbus. Thank you Lorenzo thank you breakfast lady I will see you all in October.

We live in Tupelo Ms so Columbus is pretty close takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get there. We have a friend that plays in a band from time to time and we’re invited to come and see him play. We knew after a nights festivities we should not drive home so got on TripAdvisor. This was not the closest to the venue but was one of the nicest. I was very impressed with the room. We had a king. It had microwave and a small refrigerator. It was immaculate! Looked clean smelled clean. There was not a water spot one one the shower doors. Has free breakfast. Plus if you come in late they have to buzz you in. Slept like a baby. Didn’t hear a sound from the other guests. I highly recommend this place if you need a place to stay passing thru Columbus Ms.

Do not stay at this hotel unless you want fraudulent charges on your credit card. The manager is less than helpful insisting the computer is always right. Proof of being in a different state is not enough to convince them otherwise.

I stayed at this facility while attending a nearby business meeting. The facility is fairly easy to find and is conveniently located with plenty of parking for U-Hauls, trucks with trailers or larger vehicles. The property is about one year old so everything still looks great and I love the modern design. I’m not usually a fan of modern stuff, however, they have integrated these things into the image of the IHG brand very well. The basics were covered, (i.e. clean room, comfortable mattress, clean towels and linens, etc.) The pool and other common areas were also clean and appeared new. All the equipment worked as expected (A/C, coffee pot, iron, TV, etc.) and the rooms were very spacious. The staff I interacted with were both personable and accommodating and overall added to the positive stay. I was very impressed with the lighting in the room and throughout the hotel as well as the integrated blackout shades put into use. The shades are built into a track system which allows you to pull a chain to close the shade and it worked perfectly. Overall it was a very nice stay, exceeding what you would expect from the Brand and overall a very nice property.
