We stayed here on a weekend. Staff was extremely friendly and helpful! The pool/whirlpool area is small and misleading. Sounds like there should be a whirlpool hot tub but there isn’t one. The pool water itself is freezing too. Overall stay was pretty good even though they’re in the middle of doing upgrades.
We visited during the big remodel recently, and were greeted with a letter stating water would be shut off starting at 10am the next morning. I was not sure why they chose that time, when checkout is at noon. It would make more sense to start water shut off at checkout because more than likely people need water before leaving the hotel than they would when arriving. The place was definitely torn apart and when we woke up in the morning there were men right down from our room drilling into doorways. I would have hoped for a slightly cheaper stay price with these inconveniences. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I will come back when the remodeling is complete to get a full experience of the hotel.
Long day of traveling and check in to find my floor looking like a war zone. I can appreciate remodeling to keep your standards up but this is nuts. First, extremely unsafe having construction equipment and material out in the open. Second, very easy to phase construction and limit guest inconvenience. This is nowhere near the standards loyal Marriott travelers have come to expect. With a rate over $300/night in Columbus OH I'm sure there are other competitors (Hilton across the parking lot) that can offer a much better guest experience. Not good.
The hotel is conveniently located in Easton, close to many shops and restaurants. If you have been to a Courtyard you have been to this hotel. I don't mean it in a condescending way - McDonalds was so successful because they consistently delivered the same product. You might love it or hate it but you know what to expect. The room rates strike me as high for a Courtyard but I think that is a function of the location. The primary issue right now is that this place is under serious renovation - half of every floor is closed as they update the rooms. There is some good and bad associated with it - there is plenty of parking and the hotel is never very crowded given half the rooms are unavailable but on the flip side there is a fair amount going on during the day. I had no idea about the construction until I showed up, if I had known I likely would have avoided it. Most of the time this place is $200+ per night and during the construction it just isn't worth the money. I believe it will be done in late Spring at which point you can expect an up to date standard Courtyard in a great location in Easton.
Only positive was the location. No decorations were up for Christmas. Much of the hotel was closed for renovation. On my floor, the halls to the left of the elevator were sealed with plastic. My room was off the elevator to the right. The room itself was shabby looking. Bed was comfortable but decor was dated: not worth the money paid.
I stayed here one night and it was a pretty good place to stay. It had a good location and good breakfast. I would stay here again if I have to. The rooms were nice. It is nothing really special though as it is a chain
The Courtyard is located adjacent and within walking distance to the best shopping in Columbus plus many of the best restaurants.A standard Courtyard Hotel. Parking is adjacent to hotel but sometimes hard to find if shoppers illegally park. Friendly staff. Comfortable beds. Views are not exciting but you should be shopping!
This hotel is onsite of Easton Town Center for shopping. It is w/in walking distance to all the shops and places to eat. We also attended a hockey game while in town and it was not a long drive to downtown either. The hotel is clean and the price is average. We had a king room w/ sofa sleeper. The bed was very comfortable, linens nice as well as the pillows. The room was equipped with mini fridge , coffee pot, and microwave. The room was clean and up to date. There is an indoor pool onsite, however it is very small. The hot tub was relaxing but it wasn't overly hot. They do not offer breakfast but have a small cafe onsite. However, we never did see it opened in the time that we stayed so I am not sure of the hours. Parking is free, no valet. We got in early to our room and that was nice, the staff was helpful and friendly. They do offer free wi-fi.
With younger children, our annual Christmas season kick-off shopping trip has changed from Chicago's Magnificent Mile, to a much more local destination; Easton Towne Center in Columbus. For many past years, we've stayed at the flagship Hilton property onsite - and it's been consistently excellent. This year, due to some contraction at the Hilton, (and a tighter family budget) we decided to look into another onsite property - the Courtyard Columbus Easton. I had stayed there a few years ago with a business colleague, but my "requirements" weren't quite the same at with this trip: 1.) Walking distance to everything, 2.) pull-out sofa AND crib available in a King room, 3.) a view of Easton center and all the Christmas lights. The short version is that Courtyard checks off all 3 boxes. And does it well. Not too mention that the Courtyard averages $50-$100 less. Now, understand, that savings is definitely reflected in the fact that it is not near the luxury level the Hilton is - but it doesn't claim to be. Check-in shortly after 3pm found our room not quite ready, but Chrissy at the front desk immediately moved us to another room that met all of our requirements. (Actually it was perfect placement - room #506). Check-in was quick, the lobby was beautiful - and while not decorated for the holidays, was contemporary and easy to navigate. Elevators were smooth, empty and quick. Our room was clean, attractive and positioned perfectly to look out over Easton. Closet and shelf space was adequate, even for a family of 5, for a one night stay. bathroom was spacious and clean. Excellent water pressure and shower head! With a sink outside the shower room, we were able to manage really well considering we were three baths short of what we're used to at home ;) The room was quiet, HVAC worked well and we were very comfortable. The next morning on our way out to shop, I inquired at the front desk about a slightly later check-out to accommodate baby's nap schedule. I found out that check-out was actually an hour later (noon) than I had thought, and that an extra 30 mins or so was no problem. In closing, a minor pro, and another minor con to close: Pro- Some Courtyard properties are now wired for Netflix - including this one. We were able to plug in our account details and watch a movie late that night on the big flatscreen after the Easton Parade and lighting ceremony - a really nice no-cost touch to our vacation trip. Finally, a small Con - specifically for our family, I was used to the Hilton pull out sofa, which is at least a full size bed - perfect for our two early teens. The Courtyard had a sub-loveseat size couch that converted to a twin size bed. Needless to say, dad "took one" for the team! Overall a very good stay in an excellent room for a great price. Highly recommended.
The Courtyard @ Easton is a nice, clean and convenient hotel if you plan on staying within the main part of the Easton Town Center. If you plan on getting out and doing other things I think you could find a better deal elsewhere. There is nothing special about the rooms. In fact, the layout of the rooms was pretty weird. The bed was pretty comfortable but I've seen better...especially for $200+ per night. The second night we stayed some of the other hotel guests decided they were going to smoke weed and party in a couple of rooms on our floor. My wife and I were awakened by the smell of weed which made us pretty sick to our stomachs. We called and complained and were informed that they had already asked those guests to leave. The next morning upon checking out I asked to be given a discount for the smoke and we were refunded the entire night. So, while there are other nicer hotels, I was really impressed with the customer service.
