I don't know how this hotel has such high ratings. Maybe our room was just a dump? The AC and room smelled musty - definite sign of mold in the AC unit. The room had repair issues that needed tending to - damaged tiles in the bathroom, repairs needed to be done to the sink area, dirty corners around the floor. So gross. I would never come back to this hotel.

Nice hotel by Gurnee Mills

Clean & comfortable room. Easy access to expressway, but impressively quiet. Gurnee Mills mall is right across the street - lots of shopping & restaurants. Small indoor pool area that was clean & well maintained. Room had microwave & small fridge. Very nice hotel for the price. Has breakfast, but we didn’t eat here as visiting family. Nice stay

The people were great, the entire property smelled of old cigarettes and marijuana, the floors were very dirty and definitely needed a solid steam cleaning, as well as the AC system, and the drapes also needed to be cleaned because they smelled of smoke.

The tv wouldn’t stay connected to the HDMI cable. Anytime we turned the tv back on we would get an error message and someone from the front would have to come in and reset the whole thing just for it to give the same error message the next time we wanted to use the tv. The room had a stale odor to it that I just assumed was because they left the fan off so the air wasn’t circulating. The fridge we had was on a timer. So when we went to put food in there we noticed our food from the day prior wasn’t cold. I’ve never dealt with a fridge on a timer before and felt that was somewhat inconvenient given that our food ended up not stay cold when it was turned off. Their breakfast was as expected for a free meal. No complaints there. And they had a heated indoor pool that we were able to use. Which was also a nice addition. The staff we spoke to were friendly as well. This place IMO wasn’t as good as I was expecting from the reviews I had read prior to my booking. So I was thrown off a bit when I arrived. Also, this place charges a $100 security hold which is higher than other places I’ve stayed at that were a nicer stay. So that also threw me off. Overall, it was a nice location but unfortunately I don’t see myself staying here again.
