This hotel property appears to have jettisoned a complete one hundred eighty degrees! The last time I was here, about a year ago, the ONLY positive thing I stated then was the friendliness of some of the staff. This Time? Everything was great! The room was clean, Denise, the young woman making sure breakfast items were available, worked continually, never taking a breather! INCREDIBLE turn around in a positive direction!
We stayed at this hotel on our recent visit to Charlotte to attend the PGA. The hotel had a very friendly front desk manager that was helpful in giving restaurant recommendations. Room was nice and very clean. In a rush to get out the door to attend the golf tournament I left my jewelry case behind. I was really sick about it as I had some of my favorite and sentimental pieces in there. I discovered it missing two days later and had little hope of ever getting it back. After calling the hotel manager I was thrilled to find out that Maria the women who had cleaned the room had found it and turned it in. If I am ever in the area again I will definitely stay here.
I stayed in a king room for several days while in town on business. The property is located right off the interstate but I did not hear any noise from the interstate. The morning breakfast provided both hot entrees and other choices. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I think they may have been short on housekeeping staff as one day my room did not get serviced until after 5pm but it was serviced. The microwave and the refrigerator were nice to have in the room and the refrigerator was larger than most hotels. I did not use the fitness facility or the pool.
We stop here over night when we are heading down/up south to the beach. It is a perfect half way spot for us and right off the expressway. We are Marriott Rewards members so we always look for a Marriott hotel. We stopped a week ago last Saturday...we had a friendly greeting, a clean room, and as usual a great breakfast. Thanks for a great night!
I stayed one night and it was a good night. My room was quite large with a microwave and good size mini fridge. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a separate sitting area separated by a partial wall. It was wonderfully quiet. It looks like it is near the highway from the map but there's no highway noise. I definitely recommend it. Usual free hotel breakfast.
Located just off xpressway. Well taken care of and is located in a buesiness district. Rooms are nice and the morning breakfast was great! Wendy's is in walking distance and maybe 1 other restaurant. It seems the amusement is just down the road (Carowinds??). Thanks for a great stay.
This was my first and last stay at this hotel. Room was smelly and right next to the elevator. They apperently had no more rooms to accommodate my request for a change or they preferred to continue the conversation I was interrupting.
Pros: Easy on and off the interstate Very clean Well maintained Pretty good breakfast Bed almost as comfy as my bed at home Free WiFi Front desk clerk was very friendly Cons: Nothing close by except a few restaurants I will add this hotel to our regular Charlotte list! It is convenient to Carowinds, not too far from downtown, but you will have to drive to both places.
This was our second stay at this hotel to visit the amusement park, Carowinds. The room was clean. It did have a slight smell but it didn't bother me. Beds very comfortable! The check in was super quick and staff courteous. During my last stay in the fall, I was not impressed with breakfast staff. However, the woman working this past Saturday (4/8) was especially nice and helpful. She was constantly cleaning up and making sure the food was plentiful. She did not ever stop working! Unfortunately, the food was....just ok. Also, I don't love the setup for the waffle station. It's a small space and it gets crowded in that corner. As well, the entire breakfast area was congested at the time I was downstairs. Overall, the hotel is a good value and in close proximity to Carowinds.
This was my first and last visit. Very small property that's very outdated. The room smelled funny and was small. The bathroom was weird. The bed was lumpy. The covers were thin. No where to park at night. Usually the Fairfield inns are boxers but this one was not!
