I stayed here twice very recently, December 15-16 and January 16-17, and the second booking was made through Orbitz, and my ratings reflect the overall impression from these two stays. The primary reason to choose this hotel was that it's close to CLT airport as well as other shops we like (Trader Joe's, Amelies' bakery, etc.), and it is pet friendly (with a 75 dollars extra fee.)
However, my experience on Dec 15 and Jan 16 were very different. Though I made sure that I booked the same type of room (King/Studio) on both the occasions, the size/layout and the quality of the two rooms were vastly different. The room that we were given the second time were smaller, without the clear separation of bed and couch like the first time, and the bathroom door wouldn't stay shut. We did let the front desk know, but I guess once they assign you a room, it's too late to change.
Everything else were good: breakfast is standard, location is good, no noise, rooms are clean, etc.
Anyway, my overall impression is that the location works very well for us and the actual lived experience depends on what room we end up getting. It's also a bit expensive, to be completely fair.
