Embassy Suites Hotel Charlotte

3.5 out of 5.0

Recent guest reviews

This was a quick in and out for an overnight prior to early morning flight. Everything was as I expected it to be with NO surprises.

Very nice and affordable. Family friendly hotel. Close to the Airport and Downtown. We had two families stay for trip to see the Hornets play. Queen suites wee perfect for a family of four and family of five (2 rooms total). Also had one person fly in on Wednesday and another fly out on Thursday. Very convenient to the Charlotte Airport. We used the hotel shuttle and light rail system to go back and forth to the basketball game.

My 87 year old mother and I like to stay at Embassy Suites while traveling. The waterfalls, streams and plantings make for a lovely experience. This location has remodeled and everything is stark. Not inviting at all. No plants, no ambiance. Still a good place to stay but no where near as nice.

My biggest gripe about the hotel is that it was being remodeled and had we have known we would have stayed at the Ayrsley location. Another was that the fire exit went off, which caused my family to trek down the stairs from the 7th floor, only to end up being a false alarm. I understand that the system works but an intercom would have saved my 5 month pregnant wife from having to make the trip back up 3 flights of stairs since the elevators were also inoperable.

Entire hotel was under construction. Should not have been open. Hotel was still charging premium rate.

This will be a great hotel once their renovation is complete. Right now, it is a mess. Our toilet backed up, the internet was slow, the TV lost it's signal. They have major construction going on between 9am and 5pm. This means a cement sander in the atrium...not just a couple of hammers and nails. The staff is fantastic and they are trying to be accommodating, e.g., a FREE full breakfast, FREE 2 hour Happy Hour each night. But it was impossible to work in the room with all the mid-day noise. There was NOTHING on the Orbitz site stating that the hotel was under construction. I selected Embassy Suites because they are usually fantastic.

I love the fountain view the desk clerk was very courteous

Overall it was a nice stay. I docked a star because we were not told the changes in hours for room service etc due to the holiday. There was no mention of it during check-in and no signage around the lobby or in our room.

I met up with a couple old college buddies for a weekend in Charlotte and we picked this hotel. The location was nice and not that far a drive from downtown, but this is definitely not the safest area around. Make sure to bring any valuables with you into the hotel. The staff was friendly, but I've had much better experiences at other Embassy Suites.

This is a great place to stay for Downtown or SW Charlotte. We came for an annual event and to see some old friends. Free cocktails at 5:30, Free cooked to order Breakfast in the mornings really nice room and friendly staff made this a great stay.

Easy and fast check-in. Daily happy hour from 530 to 730 with snacks included. Comfy beds and yummy cooked to order breakfast, again, included.

Great time, hotel staff very cooperative and complete in duty's,

I was given a handy as sable room in between a family reunion group loud noise but very friendly .I was there on business with my daughter usually stay there but I have to re think my return there ! Not happy with embassy suite in Charlotte n.c..

Took expanded room to accommodate a 1-year old and everything worked perfectly. Will do it again.

Nice place as usual for Embassy! Outstanding Breakfast

Check in was a breeze! After I checked in and I went straight to happy hour which included free alcoholic drinks and snacks and the drinks were mighty tasty!! The room was huge, it comfortablely fit four adults. We had a King size bed with a pull out sofa. The breakfast was awesome!! It even included fresh made to order omelettes. Whenever I go to back to Charlotte I will be staying at this hotel!!

This is a beautiful hotel with a wonderful friendly staff. It is really in a great location you are about 10 to 15 minute away from different shopping place and restaurant. I would stay there again if I visit Charlotte,NC.

I have stayed here on a number of occasions over the last few years and at different Embassy Suites across the US. The staff here are absolutely wonderful. But the room aesthetics have been neglected over time here-- scratched paint not retouched, etc. For a hotel chain that aspires to be top class, this building is disappointing. They either need to give up their pretentions of class and stop charging for internet, or spend the money to keep the place looking top notch. Again, however, the staff at the hotel work very hard and are extremely pleasant. I assume the aesthetic neglect is a managerial/executive decision.

The hotel was very nice and the amenities were great! However, the overal experience was a complete nightmare. For instance, we stayed during a middle/high school basketball convention, and the kids ran rampid down the halls, through snow from outside into the pool and hottub, and had a social meeting outside of our room. Not one staff member addressed the issue by implementing the "quiet time after 10pm." More importantly, no staff member put forth the effort to stop the snowball fight occurring in the pool area. The lack of enforcement from the hotel staff is the exact reason that I'll never stay at this hotel again! It would have been nice to have been told prior to checking into the hotel that there's a children's basketball convention being held the same weekend as my reservation. Therefore, I would have never invested the time, nor the money, in staying at this hotel!
