Classic Hampton Inn, with all the nice touches that let you know it's a cut above. Clean, comfortable, nice, friendly service, good breakfast with good variety from cold to hot, including eggs and such, oatmeal and toppings, etc. Would gladly stay again!
Two nights cost of $450. Walls in hotel are super thin. We could hear everything going on in rooms next to us. From hair dryers, Alarm clocks, TV, and showers. The rooms were just average. Every floor was full of cross country track teams. We weren't there with any of them. The teams hung out in halls & were super loud.
We got there late--10ish and they only had one room left. #304. They might as well have call it the Marlboro Suite. I'm old enough not to be completely smoke adverse, but it was bad even by my standards. But with my smoke adverse wife with me there was no way we could have stayed there. The very nice front desk clerk, Sharona, thankfully got our HH points reversed and booked us a stay at another property approximately 15 minutes away. So 3 stars and average b/c I could not give it the full review.
This was a stopping point on a cross country trip. Although not a fancy hotel, I was super impressed with the staff. Evening and morning staff were so kind and attentive to every need. Clean room and very comfortable bed.
Confusing with their billing statements when splitting the bill with someone else, also they were short on hot breakfast food and sent a staff member out. After we had already decided to go and get food at another fast food restaurant for our 92 year old.
I have stayed here numerous times. It is about 8 hours from my house and this is where I stay when I am traveling west or returning to Virginia. I am a Hilton Honors Diamond member and used "points and money" to book my room. At check-in, the lady at the desk asked me if I were using points and money which I thought was odd - I have never been asked that. Well, at 6:45-7 AM the next morning I found out why. She put me in a room at the end of the hallway on the first floor across from the housekeeping supply room/staging area. They had a radio blasting and yelling and laughing which woke me up - BTW, I was on vacation and on a long motorcycle ride. I had planned on sleeping in. When I was checking out, I told the lady at the front desk and what she said just blew me away. She said I am sorry, can I get you a bottle of water or something? Interestingly enough, there was a sign right in front of her that had the Hilton's 100% Satisfaction Guarantee write up on it. I walked out shaking my head.
This is the worst Hampton Inn I've ever stayed at. The elevator smelled like it had been dedicated in. The hall way stunk, the refrigerator temp dial was broken and froze my $1200 medication rendering it unusable. Nothing was done to fix the odor problems and not even a sorry about my medication which caused us to cut our trip short so I could get home to take shot.
We have stayed at this hotel several times before in coming to West Virginia for family reunion. We have been pleased with accommodations here in the past. We were met at check in with a wonderful young gal who went out of her way to be helpful. Our only problems this time we're a foul smell in and around the elevator and at each hallway around the elevator at every floor. Also the air conditioner was particularly noisy and had to turn off the second night.
A sense of welcome when we walked in and even able to warm up our own food from the lobby after a long drive... Staff was accommodating to our room changing request. Fruits in the lobby to welcome guests... Everything felt right! Plus the location was excellent, close to restaurants and grocery store and highway.
What can I say, I love this place! Clean, reasonable and generally awesome! Breakfast is great. The staff here are personable and super kind. I occasionally have to stay in Charleston for school/interning and I always stay here!! Thank you for being a breath of fresh air for me!!!
