Absolutely phenomenal hotel. Luxurious and comfortable rooms. Food was incredible. Really can’t say enough good things. Best for a friends or couples trip. Great location. Very central to shops, bars and art galleries.
Hands down the best place to stay in Cartagena, this also rivals for the best in the Americas in terms of service and sophistication. Not being a beach town, you'll never want to leave the poolside especially if they are playing the 80s mix that was on during our stay. There's really no negative aspects to this property and, if anything comes up, the staff will bend over backwards to make it right. If you can afford it, don't look elsewhere.
My wife and I stayed at Casa San Agustin for 4 wonderful evenings. The hotel is beautiful and in a perfect location to walk around Cartagena. Our room was beautiful and the service is what would be expected from a 5-star hotel. The pool area is small, but there are a few other private areas where one can lounge in the sun. The concierge scheduled a wonderful city tour for us where we learned the vast history of the city. We ate twice at Alma's and the food was amazing. As someone who is an empanada connoisseur, the lobster empanada's are some of the best that I have ever tasted. Can't recommend this hotel enough.
Our family enjoyed our stay at this wonderful hotel during our first visit to Cartagena. The entire hotel and guest rooms are 5 star. All of the staff treated us very well and were always at attention to assist with the smallest request. Highly recommended!
My friend and I booked a spontaneous trip to Cartagena. When looking for a hotel, Casa San Agustin checked all of our boxes! Gorgeous facilities, pool, breakfast, concierge services, onsite dining (Alma) and spa. We took full advantage of the hotel's stunning amenities- comfy pool side chairs, professional massages at reasonable prices in an absolutely luxurious spa (they even took the time to find just the right lotions for any skin related allergies), chill rooftop, and dining experiences (we went back for the chocolate molten cake at Alma twice). As we were two women traveling alone, the concierge ladies, Katherine and Gladys, became our best friends. The staff knew where the two of us were at all times. They checked google maps before we headed out the door and told us the safest paths and exactly how many blocks in each direction. They planned our transportation, day trip to Coralina Island, and rescheduled our massages to a later time so we didn't feel rushed. They will do anything and everything to make you feel relaxed and safe. I highly recommend having the hotel pick you up at the airport. Was so worth it for $19. A piece of advice would be that prior to traveling to Cartagena get a sense of where you would like to dine for dinner or lunch. We had other friends in town who did not make reservations and became frustrated that the places they wanted to dine in were already booked up. Overall, if I could rate this hotel to be more than 5 stars I would!
We loved Casa San Agustin! Our room was clean and beautiful with high ceilings. We had a terrace and a private jacuzzi. The hotel is well located within the Old City Walls and convenient for walking to all Shops and restaurants. Good food at the hotel as well.
Located in the old quarter of the walled city, this gorgeous hotel provides elegant surroundings, excellent and imaginatively designed suites, and fine food. The hotel has managed to combine modern amenities within a lovely historical building. I am already looking forward to returning next year!
We had a superb 5 days here. It's everyhting that other reviewers have said. It is stylish, centrally located, and a superb staff. Special thanks to Olga and Catherine! We had a duplex suite just off the pool area. No view, but the room was so large we really did not mind. The pool area is quite small, and does not get much sun, but this trip was not about sitting each day. If you are interested in beach experience, opt for a day at Blue Apple of Fenix Beach clubs, but unfortunately, we did not ask the hotel to book this in advance for us, and both spots were booked for the day. Dinner at Alma at the hotel is quite good, get a table in the courtyard.
Wow! What can I say that previous reviewers haven't said? Have traveled all over the world and without question Casa San Agustin is one of the finest 2-3 hotels I've ever been in. Charming, luxury, boutique hotel in elegant, stylish setting. Perfect location in center of the walled city. Architecture, furnishings exquisite. Wonderful staff, excellent service from top to bottom -- including manager (Elena), front desk (esp. Ramon and Katherine), doormen/bellmen (Nelson, Jose), housekeepers, dining room servers, and maintenance help. Breakfast was great -- particularly enjoyed the fresh local fruit and pastries. Bathroom was as large as some NY hotel rooms I've been in; both shower and bed extremely comfortable. WiFi worked well. No question will return if another trip to Cartagena.
We stayed there Feb. 5-8, 2018. My wife complained about the noise - she's extremely extremely sensitive to noise. Honestly it didn't bother me. The staff on the front desk did everything possible to make her happy - their attitude was outstanding - especially the person in charge (Carolina). They moved us to a different room on a different floor and it was very very quiet. Also very luxurious - far more than were expecting so it was a very pleasant surprise. In fact all the staff are incredible - very very helpful. The architecture of the hotel is very interesting too - way more interesting than other hotels in Cartagena. I think it's by far the best hotel in Cartagena
