This was a dream vacation! The hotel was beyond our expectations - the staff was courteous and helpful and our room was, well, amazing. We stayed in room 102 and had a private pool. Highly recommend! Breakfast was a choice of items off the restaurant menu at Alma as well as offerings from the buffet. Mimosas are a must! The mixologists at the bar were delightful to chat with and they know their gin very well. I had a sampling of several while we were there and I can the variety was top notch. Shout out to Andres and the other guys for putting up with us! There are several bars in the hotel that aren't staffed, but all you need to do is pick up a phone and they will be there momentarily. We were even able to order lunch at the poolside bar. The concierge staff were wonderful in helping us find a pharmacy, a few restaurants and even a fabric store. (There are at least 4 within 2 blocks.) I cannot say enough good things about this place - you won't regret a moment you spend here.
This place was worth every single penny we paid. The room was gorgeous / spotless/ luxurious / I'd come back to Cartagena just to stay in the hotel again..... it was a oasis in a busy area of the old town. The bed was incredibly comfortable and of course (ha) they had a pillow menu. The cleaning staff here should be in every 5 star hotel...amazing job. Probably one of the best hotels I've been in and I have been to many. Turndown service every night / tea and snack in the library from 4 pm onwards. The breakfast buffet was over the top and you can order from the menu (included). Dinner at the restaurant was okay / personally I would skip it but they had good cocktails. We also did an organized sunset cruise through the hotel and I would skip that too unless you are cool with paying $325 usd for some dude driving the boat at 10km an hour (for 2.5 hours) while staring at his iPhone. Better spent elsewhere. I would absolutely come back here again and I would tell anyone looking for a hotel in this price range to not bother looking anywhere else. San Agustin is it.
Perfect place for an anniversary trip. The place was quiet, clean and lived up to the reviews we read online ahead of time. Are there cheaper options in the old city? Sure, but we felt that the price wasn't out of proportion for what was offered. I wouldn't bring small kids here though. The Sofitel would probably be a better property for that because there is more space.
We were lucky enough to stay here on our honeymoon trip round Colombia! It's beautiful, the decor is tasteful and calming, the rooms are spotless and a lovely size, and the pool is a welcome break from the heat of Cartagena. The Alma bar is also worth checking out for a proper G&T. Above all staff are amazing. Katherine, who checked us in was polite, friendly and helpful. All of the staff were attentive and friendly and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend anyone to stay here!
This is serious one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. Absolutely beautiful / mind blowing so. I wasn't expecting to walk into such an amazingly tranquil and unique place. This must be the best place to stay in Cartagena. Truely a fabulous experience. I only stayed for 1 night wish it were longer! The hotel compliments the whole Cartagena experience - a wonderful place. Love it JB
This boutique hotel is absolutely stunning. You feel like you live in a classy townhouse in Cartagena. Le location is perfect, the staff is professional, helpful and kind, the food is excellent (huevos rancheros and French toast out of this world). My wife and I had a magical holiday here, we strongly recommend it.
Superbe hotel, very well decorated, warm ambiance, very good welcome by the staff specially Katherine. The room very nice ,need more closet space. Swimming pool, spa, food everything good. Service very slow. Music and bar area full of life,.
We recently stayed in the beautiful 2 bedroom colonial suite. The hotel is beautiful!! The rooms were quiet even though it is located in a fun area and across the street from the University. The 2 bedroom suite is on 2 levels and has a living room on the 1st floor. We had the best cocktails ever!! The bar is amazing, live DJ on Saturday night. The pool is small but very lovely! Great picture spot! The library with tea/coffee is lovely! We had great massages at the spa. The service is amazing! Especially the lovely Katherine who was so helpful before and during the trip! I felt very comfortable here from the moment that we got off our taxi! Everyone came out to greet us and help with the luggage! I can't wait to visit again!
We recently stayed four nights at this hotel. The hotel is beautiful and the pool is gorgeous. What really stands out is the impeccable and friendly service. All of the staff were so warm and helpful. Especially, Olga and Katherine who were always genuinely ready to assist in any way. We would definitely stay here again.
An amazing boutique hotel maintained and renovated based on the Spanish colonial architectural design. Because of this the ceilings in all the restaurant, bar, lounge rooms are over 20 feet high on the ground floor. The pool is located on the inside of the hotel in a wonderful courtyard. Located in the old town (behind the old walls) of Cartagena. Given the best location of the hotel, you are then able to walk all around old Cartagena to see the wonderful colours and sights. Room Tip: Get room 102 only room with a pool. Grand ceilings over 20 feet high and huge bathroom area. Ductless A/C system keeps room cool. Dining: We had breakfast there many Colombian variations of Huevos. Dinner was fantastic menu - try to sit outdoors and listen to the 5 piece live Latin Music band Wednesday to Saturday. The concierge team, wait team, room maids, bar staff are amazing. Caroline the GM is lovely and it shows in her great team. Thanks
