My wife and I recently stayed at this hotel. We were celebrating my wife's birthday and the staff went out of their way to make it very special. Elena worked with my prior ro our arrival, and my wife was welcomed with beautiful roses and a birthday cake. Catherine made all the arrangments for our dinners and gave us wonderful advice on sites to see and explore. Everyone on the Staff was a pleasure to deal with and could not o enough for us. I recommend this Hotel whole heartedly.
We were a large family group with three rooms at the hotel, and they made it feel like our home away from home. Every single member of staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. They made a point of learning our names, which was a nice touch, especially for the children. The rooms were all beautiful, and the beds were very comfortable. The breakfast spread was good, and someone was always on hand to refill our coffee cups. Definitely a first class hotel.
Fantastic place. Katherine, Gladys, Ramon, Jo Nelson, Eduardo, and the whole team gave the absolute best service. We would come back in a heartbeat! Perfect location, stunning rooms, excellent pool, and the cocktails at the bar are to die for. If you are going to Cartagena, you MUST stay here.
This was our second trip to Cartagena. The last trip, we spent in a spectacular suite at the Sofitel Legend Santa Clara and wanted to book there again, but they were full. For considerably less, we were pleased to be able to book at this gorgeous property, recently named one of the best hotels in the world by Travel & Leisure Magazine. The welcome from Gladys and Edward was hearty and sincere, and at first glance, we loved our spacious, high-ceilinged room (208, I believe). However, the a/c was far too small to adequately cool the room. In fact, the bathroom seemed to be perpetually steamy. Also, the room had no closets and only a small section in the armoire in which to store clothes--not enough for 1 person, much less two. The TV was woefully small and hardly visible from the only reasonable place from which to watch it--the bed. Also, lighting was terrible--the expansive bathroom had only a basic light above the sink and none in the shower. As for the positives, and there were plenty, we loved the spa--my spouse raved about the facilities and the treatment he received. The pool is one of the loveliest you'll find anywhere--it wraps around a 300 year old wall that has been incorporated into the property, arches and all. Breakfasts were sumptuous, as was our meal at the restaurant's acclaimed Alma Restaurant. We loved the attentions to detail throughout the property--fresh iced fruit-waters available at tables in the hallways, different scents throughout the grounds, gorgeous artwork and plants everywhere, luxurious Ortigia bath products, bicycles, super fast WIFI, a delightful salsa band serenading diners on the restaurant's patio, a generous late check out time, pools filled with fresh cut fragrant flowers... The location in the heart of the Old City is perfect--just a few minutes walk from all the best of the Old City and San Diego. If next time we could get a room a bit better appointed than the one we had, I think we have found a new favorite hotel in Cartagena, one of our favorite cities in the world.
I literally loved everything about this hotel. The location, decor, food but especially the staff. Every single staff member was so polite, friendly and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We stayed in the 2 bedroomed suite which was beautiful, with its own private terrace and pool. The Alma restaurant is also superb, great service and sublime food. Well done to all of you and a big thank you
Great experience at Casa San Augustine. Its an exquisitely beautiful property in a great location and gorgeous rooms and pool area. Every detail is perfect and thoughtful. The staff was wonderful friendly and kind. Ramon, Katherine, Gladys and Olga at the front desk were so nice and helpful with everything - restaurant recommendations, boat trip and every question we had. Very personal experience. We really liked Luis who was waiting on us at the pool. He kept those fresh mojitos coming very quickly and with such a sweet personality. All in all amazing experience in Cartagena!
We loved this hotel so much that it's hard to find the words to express it. Exquisite design, extreme comfort, heavenly linens, delectable food, skilled mixologists, and beauty and taste to rival any luxury hotel. There is a price for quality, but the value is there. I'd do it all over again and stay even longer. The staff at this hotel is exceptional. They do everything they can to make your stay perfect. It just the usually pleasantries and reservations, but real recommendations and advice as well as help changing rooms if you want something more to your liking. Special thanks to Jorge, Ramon, Gladys, Olga and Katherine. You made us feel special and beyond comfortable. Also, the spa is GREAT. We had facials and massages. If you've spent a lot of time in the sun on your holiday the moisturizing facial will do wonders to replenish your skin. Room recommendation for the Deluxe Category - 301.
Perfect hotel to stay.. great food , great spa, great staff!!! Everything from your arrival to the experience was amazing.. San Agustin, makes sure the guest feels pampered.. daily sweets, bed arrangment in the morning & at night!!! Everything that I can tell you does not measure to the divine experience you will have here.... and by the way at the center of Cartagena.. Highly recommended!!!
Hotel is immaculate, and modern, with soaring ceilings, and the hotel is built around a 400 year old aqueduct. The rooms are spacious and beds are perfect. The concierges are all adorable, and help any way they can. They made sure that all restaurant reservations, knew it was my husbands birthday, so he got candles, and cake all weekend long!!! The pool in the lobby looks inviting, but it is way too hot!! and not refreshing. We used the bikes, that was fun. Great hotel, but can't use the pool. too hot.
I can't speak more highly of this boutique hotel. The staff were all so friendly and helpful, especially the reception girls, who couldn't do enough for us. All the food we ate was of amazing quality and the hotel was very clean. I recommend the eggs benedict for breakfast and a stop in the bar before going out for the night. This hotel is also perfectly positioned in the heart of the old city, an oasis of calm!
