I had a perfect day alone in this gorgeous hotel! The views are amazing. I had the pleasure of meeting Yeider who was my bartender and waiter. He is absolutely amazing! Very attentive to everything I needed from drinks to food and made sure my ice bucket was going strong every 15 min under the Cartagena sun. And he took amazing pictures of me!!! Thank you so much Yeider!!
when i arrived my room wasn't ready but i was wlecomed by very friendly multilingual staff (Wilson) who took care of me very well during my whole trip. he cleaned the ground floor bathroom himself for me so i could change to enjoy the rooftop pool (the bathroom there is smaller). i booked a suite with balcony for 4 nights. and it was spacious, well decorated and new. the bathroom (sorry showerroom as there is no bath) is strangely arranged with the toilets and bin behind the door (not very practical). but the shower is very big with two shower heads! perfect if you travel as a couple (not my case). the balcony is also cool and the street not noisy so i could enjoy it. but please water the plants on the balcony as they are dying and that's a pity! the hotel offers a wide range of TV channels, with lots of them in English! the breakfast is excellent, and offers you fresh cut fruits by a friendly traditionally-dressed lady! the decor is beautiful but the aircon way too cold. the rooftop consists in two levels: the first one with the pool and the long chairs, and the top one with the jacuzzi, sofas and tables and the bar. if you want anything from it, you need to go ask. the food and drinks were very good but overpriced. and the 10% gartuity included is not acceptable (it becomes a bit like in the USA). i was alone at the pool most of the times and i had no issue finding long chairs. they had privatized the top level of rooftop for parties one evening, but i was still able to enjoy the pool level with the long chairs. The view from the pool is really WOW!!! and i booked this hotel mainly for this. the hotel is very well located in the heart of the historical center, all in walking distance of the main sights. very practical! the staff arranged me a day trip to the Playa Blanca which ended up being very different. price was cheaper, but they planned to bring us there by boat when i specifically requested by minivan. the playa blanca is horrible! this hotel was great and i enjoyed my stay very much. i highly recommend it. this is perfect for couples (very romantic), but a bit dead for a single traveller to meet other guests
This hotel surpassed all our expectations, the service is outstanding. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Great location. Fantastic pool with wonderful views of the wall city. We will come to this hotel for sure
Me and my husband were looking for a place to go for our 10th anniversary weeding. We booked this place thru expedia after a very difficult choice options. Since we arrived everything was fantastic. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Rafael, Andres, Sandra and the rest, All of them did those days a very special ones. We got an earlier booking and that made the difference. The room is pretty, spacious and comfortable. The sheets felt like heaven. The roof has an amazing view to old and new town.(Go there for sunset). The only thing needed to be improved are cocktails (are not as good as they could) and the cleanliness to the glasses in the veranda at the pool. Room service for breakfast were beyond expectations. The location is very convenient. You have the comfort of a hotel inside city wall. Great find, probably we will be back!! Thanks!!
This small hotel part of SHL has to be one of the very best hotels in town. Great location in the old walled city absolutely fabolous breakfast stunning roof terraces and infinity pool and super kind and service minded staff. Did I mention the rooms are Big and excellent ! We enjoyed every minute !
Great location close to the main sightseeing places in the old Town as well as restaurants and night life. The staff was very welcoming from the beggining to the end! It's a chic, boutique, small (but tall) hotel with a spectacular roof-bar where you get an amazing view of both the old and the modern parts of Cartagena! We got a room-upgrade and stayed at the top floor with spectacular views of the old Town. The hotel overall and the rooms are modern, Beautiful and clean! No complains at all but rather compliments to the staff and administration. Excellent hotel! Keep up the good work! The breakfast room is very chic and the breakfast was delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed! The swimming pool on the roof is unbeliavable refreshing and Beautiful. You get an amazing view of Cartagena from the pool as well! I would love to come back to Cartagena and stay at the Movich Hotel. I would definitely recommend it to friends and family! Thanks Hotel Movich :-)
From the time we came, we felt welcome and well taken care of. Good and friendly service. The rooms are nice, clean and light. There are not many rooms, wich makes it a calm place. On the roof there is a nice infinity pool and from here (and the roof bar) you have a stunning view over the city day and night. Its a nice place to wach the sunset.
We could not chosen a better hotel. It surpassed all our expectations. Warm welcome to Cartagena with a delicious drink and friendly service. The hotel staff makes you feel at home. Super attentive, warm, friendly, respectful and courteous service. Our daughter got sick midway in our vacation and they were genuinely concerned with her well being. Very helpful (even called a doctor to check her out at no charge). Excellent location. In the middle of the historic neighborhood so close to great restaurants, museums, and landmarks. The most beautiful views of Cartagena in the roof top. The view was breath taking and the infinity pool and restaurant bar were fantastic. The hotel itself is very clean, comfortable and super stylish. Classy trendy airy chick decor. The rooms are very clean, the bathroom is luxurious and big. The beds are super comfortable. The breakfast is to die for. Great variety, super delicious one of a kind breakfast dishes every day. I cannot say in words how grateful I am with the hotel staff for their help and warm welcome. We will be coming back to this particular hotel next time around fur sure!
This is NOT a 4 or 5 star hotel. We arrived and had 2 rooms. We both, unknown to each other, called to have the floor cleaned as they were filthy. There was no soap and when I asked, the manager said they were out of soap and gave us shower gel but there were no wash cloths. I'm paying over $200 a night and you can't buy me soap!! In the 5 days we were there I never once saw a wet mop on any floor except the dining room. Tile must be mopped. We were put on the party floor with a wedding that took up most of the hotel. Why, I don't know. After they unloaded several more cases of booze in the room down the hall, we asked to switch rooms. We were given a lovely suite with a balcony. Nice. The room had bamboo sticks holding up the bathroom sink, no door knob on the door leading to the second floor balcony so there was no way to lock it, a broken curtain that they fixed, an absolutely filthy deck that made your feet black instantly and a lovely planter with nothing in it. Sad. It also had a picture of two kids staring at the bed, laughing and giving a thumbs down. Nice picture but bad placement. They had a sofa in the hallway that was more appropriate in a college dorm then a good hotel. They have a water jug in the lobby that has about 1 glass of water in it from the melted ice at all times. I guess it isn't anyone's job to fill it. That being said, the staff is very nice and very helpful. The location can't be beat and the rooftop deck is great. Breakfast is good but I don't get the fruit lady that is all dressed up. She just stands there and gives fruit. Maybe she can fill the water. The problem with this hotel is it has a manager with a Quality Inn mentality running a supposedly upscale hotel. Get rid of her and hire a real manager.
it's a nice view point inside the old Cartagena. It's a small roof terrace, it looks nice and you can see the sunset. Due to the size of the place, the tables facing the sunset can be occupied, so if that's your goal, go early. The have nice standard cocktails.
