Beautiful hotel in the the walled old city of Cartagena! We arrived in the evening and were put in an upgraded room as they were full, free upgrade to a suite! The room was huge with a beautiful bathroom, living room with a couch and TV on the other side of the bedroom. We also had a balcony which was nice! The best part was the rooftop pool, and the view from the roof. Downsides were that the pool could be used by non hotel guests, and there are not many lounge chairs by the pool. Breakfast was wonderful and is served in a beautiful room. Most of the staff were very nice, although at our initial check in, the front desk agent didn't even acknowledge us or make eye contact with us. Other than a few negatives, I'd stay here again!
Movich hotel is the tallest high-rise in the walled city of Cartagena. It is centrally located. The room is spacious, clean and well furnished. A large swimming pool and spa are on the seventh floor. There is a roof top bar on the eighth floor with breathtaking view of the bay and the sea. It is a great place to see the sunset and relax. The service is outstanding especially Wilson (Chinese speaking native) and Jonathan. The breakfast was very good. Our stay at the Mocivh was very pleasant and enjoyable.
Trying desperately to reach this hotel after we had to cancel in December due to an illness in the family. No one has responded to our many emails and messages. I'm sure it is a wonderful hotel, but this is POOR customer service!! Our son was ill and we would like to reschedule our stay, but no one will answer our travel agent's calls!
We stayed here in december last year. The room and bathroom are very nice, the food, we had lunch, was extremely good, but the service is extremly slow, especially with the breakfast, the staff does not seem to be interested in you. A few days later we stayed in Casa San Augustin, there they know how to treat you, what a difference.
Best hotel in Cartagena! 6 stars! The service was excellent, the people are warm and friendly, and the manager Amelia was always there and was fantastic! It is hard to name everyone whom was nice like Luis at the bar. We will definitely be back! You will book this hotel for the views and the pool but you will leave as a friend (amigos).
We were on a evening walking tour and had some free time. We went to the rooftop bar of the Movich and it was breathtaking! Had the best fries we've ever had - in Colombia? Yup! Waitstaff was very pleasant and the food and drinks were great. But the view - oh my gosh! Then, fireworks started! Are you kidding me? Warm evening; rooftop bar; great food and drinks; family; fireworks = HEAVEN. There was a minimum charge per person but we met it easily. Great find. In the heart of the Walled City. Plus, they take American Credit Cards! Oh, and free wifi! Win! Win! Could have sat here for hours.
I had a perfect day alone in this gorgeous hotel! The views are amazing. I had the pleasure of meeting Yeider who was my bartender and waiter. He is absolutely amazing! Very attentive to everything I needed from drinks to food and made sure my ice bucket was going strong every 15 min under the Cartagena sun. And he took amazing pictures of me!!! Thank you so much Yeider!!
when i arrived my room wasn't ready but i was wlecomed by very friendly multilingual staff (Wilson) who took care of me very well during my whole trip. he cleaned the ground floor bathroom himself for me so i could change to enjoy the rooftop pool (the bathroom there is smaller). i booked a suite with balcony for 4 nights. and it was spacious, well decorated and new. the bathroom (sorry showerroom as there is no bath) is strangely arranged with the toilets and bin behind the door (not very practical). but the shower is very big with two shower heads! perfect if you travel as a couple (not my case). the balcony is also cool and the street not noisy so i could enjoy it. but please water the plants on the balcony as they are dying and that's a pity! the hotel offers a wide range of TV channels, with lots of them in English! the breakfast is excellent, and offers you fresh cut fruits by a friendly traditionally-dressed lady! the decor is beautiful but the aircon way too cold. the rooftop consists in two levels: the first one with the pool and the long chairs, and the top one with the jacuzzi, sofas and tables and the bar. if you want anything from it, you need to go ask. the food and drinks were very good but overpriced. and the 10% gartuity included is not acceptable (it becomes a bit like in the USA). i was alone at the pool most of the times and i had no issue finding long chairs. they had privatized the top level of rooftop for parties one evening, but i was still able to enjoy the pool level with the long chairs. The view from the pool is really WOW!!! and i booked this hotel mainly for this. the hotel is very well located in the heart of the historical center, all in walking distance of the main sights. very practical! the staff arranged me a day trip to the Playa Blanca which ended up being very different. price was cheaper, but they planned to bring us there by boat when i specifically requested by minivan. the playa blanca is horrible! this hotel was great and i enjoyed my stay very much. i highly recommend it. this is perfect for couples (very romantic), but a bit dead for a single traveller to meet other guests
This hotel surpassed all our expectations, the service is outstanding. The staff is very friendly and attentive. Great location. Fantastic pool with wonderful views of the wall city. We will come to this hotel for sure
Me and my husband were looking for a place to go for our 10th anniversary weeding. We booked this place thru expedia after a very difficult choice options. Since we arrived everything was fantastic. The staff were super friendly and helpful. Rafael, Andres, Sandra and the rest, All of them did those days a very special ones. We got an earlier booking and that made the difference. The room is pretty, spacious and comfortable. The sheets felt like heaven. The roof has an amazing view to old and new town.(Go there for sunset). The only thing needed to be improved are cocktails (are not as good as they could) and the cleanliness to the glasses in the veranda at the pool. Room service for breakfast were beyond expectations. The location is very convenient. You have the comfort of a hotel inside city wall. Great find, probably we will be back!! Thanks!!
