Room had several issues when we first got there and even though they were fixed, I wasn’t pleasant to have to deal with those issues. Rooms look deteriorated on some spots and cleaning service needs to be a little more on top of things. Staff is really nice and professional though, pools are nice and drink service is great as well. Buffett is great as well.
Breakfast food very ethnic, not for everyone. Very boring at night, no activities. Difficult to connect to WiFi. Friendly staff. Hotel situated too far from any social enjoyment. They charged me $5.00 a day for hotel insurance. I have been in 35 countries and I never had such a charge. I will never recommend this hotel.
I'm from Colombia and brought a few friends and coworkers to Cartagena. Some of us stayed at Las Americas Casa de Playa (where I usually stay) and we LOVED it. It has everything you need. You can relax by the pool or beach, or you can go into the old city which is just 10 minutes away. The staff is always friendly and helpful. The food at the hotel is also SO GOOD... I always include the breakfast because it's so nice to wake up and eat awesome food then just go straight to the pool or beach. I recommend this hotel to anyone that goes to Cartagena!
We decided to spend two weeks in Cartagena on our recent family vacation. We picked Hotel Las Americas as it seemed to have many different options for the children and the hotel is located right on the beach. We did not want to be crossing a busy street each day from the hotel to the beach. Indeed Hotel Las Americas is located a short 5 minute drive from the airport and the hotel can arrange and provide transportation. This is always an added bonus for us when you have multiple suitcases, carry ons and two young children. We picked a package which included wifi and free breakfast. In retrospect I think from now on I will look into all inclusive packages as it may be better value. The hotel has about 40 parasols on the beach but it is important to get there early. There are other persons who rent chairs and parasols on the beach but be careful. Try to use the hotel ones they are free. There are many vendors on the beach which will try to offer massages, hairbraiding, jewelry, food, drinks etc. Buyer be are. Prices are more expensive, negotiate wisely. You can find the same articles cheaper in the downtown area. The hotel was great and we truly enjoyed it. They have tennis courts, various kids and adult pools, one water slide, mini golf, a pool table and a ping pong table. There are people that dress up as characters and my boys enjoyed this. There is also an arcande but we did not use this. There are various animators which host and direct avtivities for children
Seems nice from outside but facilities are dated And not well maintained. Pool edges are dirty. The music is very loud at the pool and they let any customer put their own music. Therefore is like 20 different loud sounds at the same time. We stayed there thinking it was a kids friendly hotel but no so much so. Kids pool is a joke. They habe staff to entertain the kids but the amenities for kids are not what they need to be
The great ting is the fact that the conference was there, so it is very convenient, lot of amenities, Clean room Polite and helpful staff
Good rooms, excelent attention from the staff. The fold os not bad but top expensive. Mayor be a good idea for the next time ti reserve with breakfast included

The hotel staff was excellent. The hotel is quite "dated' and is need of a remodel.The location and beach are nice but you are about 10 minutes from the Walled City - it is NOT in walking distance so every trip is going to cost you $15 RT. And you will want to leave at least 2 X per day.
We have stayed here many times before and generally its one of the better hotels in Cartagena. The beach here is not great but the only good one in the area. the rooms are clean and gerally ok. The hotel is about 15mins from the town so if you eat in the hotel it's quite expensive. My only major issue is the price quite high for what you get and one other was we checked out at 1pm and left our bags in the hotel as we went to town. When we cam back at 5pm my wife asked to make a free local call on the hotel bit they refused as we had chcked out. It's the little things like that which cause the damage to service!
