Looking for a hotel that had a room and a reasonable price for the night of the Stones concert proved almost impossible. Eventually this hotel proved to be a good solution. It was only charging about £200 for a room without breakfast, whereas the Hilton wanted £700. We all know why they do this but it doesn’t mean we should simply tolerate it. However the hotel is a good choice for a short walk to the railway station and a similar amount of time to the Principality Stadium. Just about ten minutes! The lobby is vast. It is a lofty atrium with high roof and long mirrors. Comfy chairs are dotted around and the dining area and bar lead off. We left our small bags with reception and walked to John Lewis for their cafeteria and had some refreshments. The room was ready when we returned at three. I liked the room which was large and had a good comfy bed. The bathroom with shower over was modern and very clean. Housekeeping do an excellent job here. There were the usual amenities- teas and coffees etc. but no biscuits! Breakfast lasts from about seven until ten. There was a good selection of cold items including fresh natural yoghurt with no added sugar! The cooked was the usual but with quality produce. Bacon and tomatoes were well flavoured and delicious. There were machines for hot drinks which I think used Tchibo. Anyway the espresso was very good. A good stay! Friendly helpful staff and good clean facilities are all you can ask. Here we had both. We were pleased with our short stay. Parking, incidentally, is available below the hotel but we travelled by public transport and enjoyed walking about.
Stayed at the Radisson whilst watching the cricket. Easy late check in. Breakfast was excellent. The hotel is very well placed to visit all the sights in Cardiff and all the different types of restaurants there are
Use this place a lot when on business in Cardiff. It had a recent paint job but still there are areas which lack attention. This time it was the bathroom, nothing major, but some cracked tiles and mould (small amount) on the bathroom ceiling. Wouldn't take much to replace the tiles and clean the mould off. Come on Park Inn, your up against competition from the likes of Premier Inn! Another negative is that the car parking costs have risen to £14 for 24 hrs and the spaces are limited and small - beware if you drive a long/large/wide vehicle e.g. estate or 4x4! I'll keep using it as it is very central to where I need/want to be.
The hotel is very central and around a 5 minute walk from the train station. The room was worn and tired looking however the bathroom was more modern and fresh. The breakfast was ok and offered a selection of hot foods. Service was good and prompt including room service.
If you an get this hotel for the same price (or cheaper) than premier inn then stay here. If not it probably isn't worth it unless on business. Firstly, great location for Motorpoint arena. On entering the hotel the main lobby is great and gives the feel of a much classier hotel. Get to the desk and the staff are second rate. Slow, not that friendly and don't seem to be enjoying themselves. However, check in is prompt and hassle free. Walking to the room the hotel has more of an airport travel lodge, narrow corridors, bouncy loud floors. However, the room was of acceptable quality. It was clean and large and the bathroom was actually pretty nice. First impression was that it was just a bit better than a good premier inn. Big TV, wall art, min fridge. However, there is no aircon and the room was like a sauna. Open the window and you are kept awake by traffic. However, there was a pedestal fan in the room. Lobby bar is small but nice. Very expensive. This i were the hotel tries to make out it is classier than it is by charging so much for drinks. It gives off the feel of class but serves drinks you would expect in Weatherspoons. We asked about breakfast and were please that it was ~£6. At breakfast we were disappointing by the quality and amount available. The area it s served in is tiny and the food disappears quick and its slow being replenished. But for the price it is probably okay value. Parking, it does exist. However, the car park is tiny and below the hotel and is very tight. Maneuvering is very difficult. Luckily we timed it right and got a good spot but we could see others having a bit of difficulty. The price is not that much cheaper than the local NCPs so if you have a nice or large car i'd suggest avoiding this parking. Location within Cardiff is great though! If the hotel concentrated on the things it is good for and wasn't trying to compete with more upmarket hotels then it has the potential to be a really good budget hotel.
The hotel is beside a mall, grocery store and lots of restaurants nearby. The room is spacious, cleand and has nice beddings; extra pillows are also provided. The staff are helpful. The breakfast choices is good enough. Downside... The room that we stayed in in the 2nd floor has no aircon. The elevators are a bit cramped.
Terrible stay management we’re awful to deal with room was dirty bath towels were not clean when complained staff didn’t seem to care room smelled of cigarette smoke even though non smoking room ask if we could change room front desk said sorry full hotel we asked for refund and was told to practically suck it up what a hotel never again
Very clean , friendly staff. Impressed. Good position for where we were spending the evening. The only observation is that the toilet was very low......strange, but not a real issue! Bed was comfy and clean as was the bathroom...the door did stick a little but again not an issue.
On 26th May, I along with my wife visited Cardiff and my son gifted us this stay. Park Inn by Radisson Cardiff City Centre is part of Radisson Rewards and I am a member there of. On my arrival there was some confusion as my name was entered differently but thanks to the Reception it was handled and we checked in soon. The room was very clean and there was enough natural light through the large glass windows. On my request the hotel provided me few bottles of drinking water. Even they accepted for my request of one hour late check out. The morning breakfast was charged at a special price of just £6. It was British breakfast. My problem with room Wi-Fi was promptly attended to.
Myself and my daughter spent one night at the hotel as we were attending an event at the Motorpoint Arena. The location was perfect as it is right across the road from the arena. I’ve stayed in Cardiff before and didn’t feel safe at night walking back to the hotel so this hotel was perfect. It is also right next to St David’s shopping centre and a huge John Lewis. Check in was friendly and easy. The room was quite small but fine for the two of us. The decor was nice but the bed for me was too hard and I didn’t sleep well. We were on the 5th floor which quite pleased about after reading some of the reviews. It was a bit noisy outside but you are in a busy city. I would definitely stay there again.
