To be honest, I'd give this hotel 3 and a half out of 5 but tripadvisor won't allow me to do that. I feel 4 is a little much but 3 is a little low. To be honest, it was only little things that let it down. The first thing being the fact that some of my details were incorrect upon arrival at check in - my phone number and room price was incorrect. The second was that I requested non feather bedding when booking. I said I was asthmatic and allergic to feathers. The first thing I did upon arrival was check the bedding, and what did I find? Feather pillows!! I phoned reception straight away and they did send someone up immediately to change the pillows, but I really shouldn't have been given feather pillows in the first place. The third thing was the air conditioning, which appeared not to be working, and the room was extremely hot. The air con was showing a triangle symbol with an exclamation mark inside it. I tried to turn it on by pressing the buttons, but nothing was happening. I looked around the room for instructions, but there weren't any, which is very unusual - other hotels I've stayed at have provided instructions for the air con. I phoned reception again, and fair play, the maintenance man came up quickly. It turned out that the air con was working after all - we had to press and hold the buttons. It still doesn't explain the error symbol, but hey ho, at least it worked. Instructions should have been provided though. Fourth problem was the shower and hair gel - there was none left in the holder in the bath/shower. Bit late to phone downstairs when I'd already got into the shower! Lucky I'd bought my own just incase. And the last problem was the tv. It worked fine when we arrived, but the next morning, every single channel was scrambled! As we were leaving that morning though, we didn't feel there was any point calling reception. Otherwise though, we had a good stay and I'd stay here again. I had a comfortable night's sleep. There were no noise issues whatsoever. We were in room 98, which was actually in the middle of the hotel. When you look out of the bedroom window, rather than get a view of outside, you realise that you're directly above reception and are looking out at the reception and bar area! There was a net curtain over the window so that nobody could see in to your room (hopefully!), and there was also a good pair of curtains which blocked out the light at night. The room wasn't huge, but big enough for my friend and I. It was a twin room. Tea and coffee making facilities were available, but no biscuits. 6 coathangers were provided, as well as an ironing board and iron, and a hairdryer. Free wifi was available, which worked well. A flat screen digital television was available, which, as I mentioned previously, worked upon arrival, but was scrambled the following morning. The bar area was comfortable, but the choice of drinks could have been better. They did not serve cocktails or dessert wine. Bought a bottle of rose, which was ok, but twice the price you'd pay for the same bottle at a supermarket. I was pleased we could take it up to our room though, and they even gave us an ice bucket for it. Next time though, I'll bring my own wine. I would have done last time had I known they didn't have cocktails. The hotel is in a convenient location - right opposite the CIA, a short walk from the train station, and a short walk from the restaurants, clubs and shops. Breakfast was tasty. The sausage in particular was delicious, however the poached egg was overcooked - it wasn't runny in the middle like it should be. There was a cooked breakfast and a choice of continental too - pastries, fruit, ham, cheese etc. A good choice of hot drinks was available, as well as some juices. Scrambled eggs were the only eggs available immediately, but you could request poached, fried or boiled. I requested poached eggs, and they cam very quickly. The price was very good for Cardiff, especially on Easter weekend. I would stay here again, especially given the fact that I had a comfortable, peaceful sleep and it was in a very good location.

Great location in the centre of Cardiff close to everything. There is parking below the hotel, but this is expensive at £14 overnite. However the hotel including B and B was good value at below £60. Restaurant is a little basic and tables a little small. The breakfast was basic but fine. If I wanted a cheap hotel in the city centre then I would stay here.

We stayed at the Park Inn for 4 nights over Easter weekend. Good points were the location, comfortable bed, clean room and plenty of choices at breakfast. Bad points were: Our heating was stuck on 29 degrees and we couldn't turn it off. We asked on three consecutive days for it to be fixed, eventually maintenance came on 3rd day and managed to turn it down by poking with his fingernail. I think he's done it before! Conversely the atrium and breakfast area is cold, people were putting coats on to eat as air con is fierce. The room is more suited to an evening restaurant as natural light is blocked out. Our room was very dark, mainly because of grey paint but also dressing table light not working. The parking is £14 per night in the hotel's own basement but it really isn't suitable for other than small cars as there are pillars everywhere. Reception seemed regularly understaffed for such a busy weekend. I wouldn't stay here again. There are plenty of other hotels in Cardiff. This one needs to up its game.

I went to this hotel with my girlfriend this Easter to visit Cardiff and we were really impressed with the venue, specially with one of the recepcionists, NESTOR VANGELI. We want to tell him from here thanks for all the help he gave us because he was really friendly and helpful. In my first day in Cardiff I had a knee sprained and he took care of us all the time, trying to make us really comfortable in the hotel, and he did. People like him make the difference in the hospitality and for sure we will come back. Ruben Diaz Vanesa Romero.

We stayed in the park inn by radisson when we visited Cardiff to go to the theatre we have stayed in Cardiff quite a few times and it has got more expensive in the last 12 months or so this hotel was £100 for the night. This hotel is in a great location just a few mins walk from the centre It is a modern hotel with all the usual amenities room was great and the bed was comfortable

Stayed here for business for one night. It's got an excellent location close to shops, restaurants and centre. Impressive lobby but rooms needs to be refurbished. No aircon and decor tired. However clean and functional.

Sat Nav took us straight to underground car park, great check-in, very handy to all shops & restaurants city centre. We were upgraded without asking for both rooms we reserved - thank you so much! Really enjoyed the stay, rooms not too hot, which is a refreshing change in a hotel nowadays. Very friendly staff, nice designer lobby & bar, will certainly return.

This hotel is situated in a great position with easy access to all attractions especially the motorpoint arena! The bar area is a great place to chill out after a long day of exploring. The price was also very reasonable for a city centre

Despite usually booking from the Blu range of hotels, this time I didn't quite have enough points and therefore booked the Park Inn. Radisson hotels I have visited in the past have always been of a good quality, although of a higher price bracket to this one. It was easy to find, well located and had on site parking so I took the chance. Arriving in the car park, it was extremely compact and more suited to smaller cars. No way suitable for any larger saloons or 4x4s. It is £14 for 24 hours parking, but we found the pay machine was broken. Strangely, the way to the reception is very poorly signed unless you are approaching from a specific direction in the car park and there was nothing to indicate that the way in with it's push button video call thing was anything other than a staff entrance. Grey is the overriding colour as soon as you enter this hotel, which I understand is an attempt at modernity - unfortunately a lick of paint does not make up for the rest of the fixtures and fittings away from the reception area, in corridors and rooms etc. Admittedly the lobby / reception area is pleasant and it is interesting to see how the hotel is an amalgamation of various older buildings with staff who were pleasant and prompt. You can forgive me for thinking, based on the reception area, that this would be a recently refurbished hotel with a modern touch. Unfortunately upon entering the room it wasn't so. Chips to the bath enamel, grotty grout, dark grey walls which had clearly just had a quick lick of paint over the old paper, loose plug sockets, cracked basin. Lovely. It was also quite warm! I assumed the air con wasn't working properly when I found an additional unit hidden down the side of the desk, however battled with it for 5 minutes trying to get it to cool with minimal success and just lots of beeping. We went out, came back and at around 23:00 went to bed. We found that the bed was rolling inwards and pointing down towards the head end. After trying sleeping at the other end of the bed, I pulled up the mattress and found that the divan base was smashed! So we call reception and explain and are told they will call back in 5 minutes. So we pack all of our stuff, get dressed again etc and get a call which says there is one room left in the hotel, but it's a twin room. We just wanted to get to sleep so accepted. We walk in to the new room and there is a strong smell of smoke. So another call to reception. We get another call back and by magic another room is found, back a couple doors along from our original room. So, we go down there and find that it's clearly above the function room, with a wedding in full swing. You could hear the lyrics crystal clear. Resigned to a bad night, we laid there in the knowledge that we had maybe an hour of noise and then we could get to sleep and lay on in the morning. Oh, if only! The room was an adjoining room and the children next door were singing at 7:30. We leave the hotel and speak to Marcin, the manager, who to be honest did not seem at all surprised to hear of our complaints! He advised that as I had used points, he wouldn't be able to refund me for my stay but to contact Carlson and the front of house manager during the week. I have since heard from Club Carlson with regards this matter, so have not contacted the hotel. Needless to say, I won't stay at a Park Inn again. For the cost, Premier Inn is better.

The hotel in general was nice, the reception, bar, facilities in room etc were good but the room was so hot we didn't sleep a wink. There was no air con in the room, we left the window open but as on a main road emergency service sirens were going off all night. Such a shame as room was nice and bed was big and comfy and if it wasn't for the temperature we would return. Told reception in the morning who didn't do anything just said maintenance would take a look at it. Well too late for us unfortunately. This was in march, god knows what's its like in summer. Fed up of handing over our hard earned cash for mediocre services.
