The hotel was in a convenient location, it was clean and the gentleman at the front desk was friendly and efficient. I would definitely stay here again. If you’re not looking for frills, this place is perfect.
Oliver was professional and polite to us for our 29th anniversary...thank you
For the money it was a good value. Reasonably convenient to town center, clean, and pretty much covered all the basics for a one-night stopover.
It's almost like being at the animal shelter, as most people staying there had a dog or two.
I didn’t stay there. I left town. I have no idea if it was nice or not.
Its only overnight and its a breeze no problem. I have nothing to say bec we only spent the night and left early morning.
Last minute booking. Decent Hotel, Front desk staff are good, responded quickly to fix bathroom light after 9pm. Breakfast was good. Stairs, walkway to rooms & doors : needs remodeling/painting
Had a great experience here from check-in to check-out. While it is a mile from the historic downtown, it is a quick walk. They are going through some renovations and I think this will only improve the rating. If you’re looking for an affordable stay near Taos city center, this is your place!
Old hotel and the non-smoking room smelled like smoke.
On the day of our stay, this was the only hotel in town with remaining rooms... and for good reason. The ceiling tiles in the bathroom were a saggy, water-stained color of gross, the heater was sparking inside itself, the phone was literally numberless, and the sinks heavily mineral-stained. We could also hear the music of our upstairs neighbors well enough to make out the lyrics.
The rooms were disgusting. Many stains on carpet, looked like it had been a long while since had seen a vacuum. Stains and hair on bedsheets as well as comforter and other blankets. Pillows disgusting. We had to go buy sleeping bags to sleep on top of the beds. Dirt in the vent on the wall unit blowing heat/air into room. Bathroom was not as disgusting as rest of room, surprisingly, but was a bit dirty and the toilet seat was also broken.
This experience was horrible, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. We booked it last minute, as Taos was an unexpected stop over on our way to Albuquerque. A room was reserved for three, and only two towels were in the room. When I called the front desk for a third, the receptionist said "come and get them''. The site does not say continental breakfast, it simply says breakfast, so we expected more. However, ''breakfast'' consisted of toast, peanut butter, and oatmeal in packets that needed to be microwaved. It was horrible, and although we booked it because breakfast was going to be an incentive over a similarly priced hotel that didn't offer it, we had to go for breakfast afterward anyway. Lastly, the rooms reeked of smoked even though I booked a non-smoking room. On the same call about the towels, I asked if there were any that did not smell like smoke, and was told that I was in a recently remodeled room and that I could change to an old room if I wanted, but that it might be worse. I don't understand how my room was a recently remodeled room, see pics.. there were stains on the walls that look as though a body slid down the wall, the lights wee taped to the ceiling, the curtains didn't close all the way, there was no water pressure in the morning and the bathroom was full of rust..... Avoid this place!
We reserved based on price. The outlets didn't work, so the lamps didn't. The lock on the door was broken, the fridge iced over, we were given only 2 towels, and there were no soaps or amenities. The staff was nice and had to be called several times, but this was a bare bones place. My kids did love the waffles at breakfast though.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating when we checked in. The room was wonderful- comfortable and unique. It's our favorite place to stay when we're in town!
Easy to find, clean, comfortable and not too expensive.
It did not start well for them. I was checking in late, so I was already tired. When I went to the room they assigned me there was a Do Not Disturb sign on the door. When I opened the door I found the room with unmade beds, lights on, and trash in the room. The next day at breakfast there was hardly any food but dry cereal & waffles that everyone was using since there was nothing else to eat. The room had a smell to it with some fixtures pulling away from the wall. When we came back the second day we were locked out of our room. I got the front desk to rekey my key. When we got in we found the room had not been cleaned or the towels replaced. I had to call the front desk to get new towels. This was during spring break, so I had to pay double what the room was actually worth. I will never stay here again.
Friendly staff and comfy beds and everything else... no comment!
