We arrived at the property thinking that we had paid for an all-inclusive stay for 4 days. Turns out it was for accommodations only, no food and beverage included. This is our fault for not reading the fine lines. However, what really upset us is the attitude of the front desk receptionist named Alejandro. Not once did he smile or give off a welcoming vibe throughout the whole check-in process. He was very blunt and dry about the fact that we need to pay an extra fee per person per night for the entire stay and did not want to make the experience any pleasant. We've been to a number of other resorts in Mexico and this was the first (and hopefully the last) time we were treated this way. He obviously did not enjoy working there or didn't want to bother with a smile. We also found it very difficult to get a server to take our orders while we were out on the beachfront, by the pool, or even anywhere on the property. There is just a handful of servers that seemed to cater mostly to their timeshare members. We had to wait at least 30 minutes for someone to come (if we were lucky), or no one at all. Also, all the bars close at 5pm, which means there's no one at or before 4:30pm. No food, no drinks, nothing. We did the research prior to going and knew that this is more of a family-friendly property and is very quiet at night. However, it would've helped us tremendously had we known that 5pm really means 430pm or earlier, and that servers aren't really there for regular vacationers

Orbitz screwed up my reservation and refused to fix it. Cost me and my wife $1000 more...never again.

New, clean, impeccable service, not too noisy, family friendly classy

This hotel is in a totally different league. Their attention to details is amazing, both in the public area and inside the suites. I think some details aren’t well presented in the property description at Orbitz. When it talks about the room size o should also mention the almost 12’ ceiling resulting in experiencing it as much larger. It should also mention the HUGE balconies that’s also part of each suite. The only area where the hotel can improve is in the Spa area. It’s lacking the usual amenities you’d expect at a 5 star resort. (Though I believe the spa will be expended when the additional 3 buildings will be complete) I’d highly recommend this hotel for anyone, especially with families to experience this hotel. Once you come here you’ll for sure wanna come again. I will!!

It was very classy and felt like a five star hotel. I do wish they would have offered kayaks and other water sports. The drink service stopped at 5pm which I also felt was early and there was no nightlife. It was an outstanding place to go for a relaxing vacation. The staff and facility are top notch.

AMAZING FOOD, top notch service, idyllic beach. Very quiet and relaxing.

excellent hotel with outstanding architecture, extremely well kept, impressive room furniture (!) and amenities, beds were comfortable and sleep quality was very high, food quality in restaurants was above the average. However, every day we have to call several times to make up the suite, every evening we got remainder(!) from maid to provide tip, every day we came through a painful procedure of making reservation for dinner in a hotel restaurant - the seat were available after 9pm only! We did not know about an option to eat outside the hotel Certainly, one more restaurant should be built.

The transportation to/from the airport, staff, the beach and foods...everything was perfect. Very quiet and relaxing. Staff was more than accommodating. They even did their best to accommodate our vegan family members. I wish their Orbitz VIP freebies were actually something different from freebies that everyone receives such as wifi. But this place is one of the best all inclusive resort i have stayed.

This elegant quiet stay was perfect. Some friends got married a few minutes away at a different resort, we visited and it as busy and had a "spring break" feel- we were so grateful for our beautiful quiet and more personal stay at the Grand Residences.

This hotel was amazing. The staff was always there to take care of anything you needed. They blew up the children's floats. Put formula on ice for us. Constantly coming around to get us food and drinks. We took the all inclusive and glad we did. Nothing was an up charge from lobster to steak with foie gras. This was unlike any all inclusive I have ever been to. The hotel and the rooms were immaculate. There was never a problem getting a lounge chair at the beach or the pool. Umbrellas were plentiful. I can't wait to go back again.

Beautiful place to stay! Would highly recommend. If anything, seemed underpopulated with guests, which is great if you don't want to battle crowds. Relatively new resort, and staff was very friendly and attentive. On-site market has reasonably-priced groceries. Concierge was very helpful and knowledgeable.

Nice resort with silent environment. Staffs are good but little problem with communication and customer information sharing. There is a communication gap between concierge and staffs in the front desk. I have to repeat correct information every time when i met staffs and concierge.

This was our second visit to Mexico and are first at the GR. The resort was amazing the entire staff was the best! The beach it self was very clean compared to the other resorts near us. I cannot say enough about the attention they give to their guest! The food was really good, never got bored and we have an all inclusive package. I would recommend using room service you will not be disappointed! The pool was heat which was great as a few days it was a bit chilly. They do have attendants at the pool who help you get your chair setup, they give you three pool towels, that was really a nice touch! I would suggest asking for a room on the 3rd or 4th floor for the best view of the ocean 2nd floor is nice if it is a building closer to the beach. I am sad to say that we are not able to return to this resort in Jan of 2017as they have risen their prices to almost double what we paid to stay this year. Which is a shame as the resort was no where near full when we stayed there and they have a new wing opening up in Nov.

I was a bit concerned about GR having enough activities to keep my active younger boys (8, 11) entertained, but that turned out not to be an issue. We've stayed at other 5 star timeshare resorts (Four Seasons, Ritz) and this was by far the nicest room that we've ever had. We were fortunate enough to upgrade to a beachfront master suite. We had the all-inclusive plan and meals/service were spectacular. 5 star all the way. We'll definitely be back.

Perfect. This was amazing. Couldn't have asked for better

If you taking a family vacation and are considering whether to book at the Grand Residences Riviera Cancun - let me say this - BOOK IT! This place is great. Huge room, extremely friendly staff, great amenities, great location, etc.... DO NOT STAY - If you are looking for a lively resort with all sorts of evening entertainment - this is not the place for you. They have activities during the day but no nightlife to speak of.

We have 3 daughters, ages 13, 11, and 5...They still rave about our trip. We had a relaxing, fun time...our 6yo espeially loved Kid's Club!

This is from our family experience The Good- *The hotel staff are great & friendly. *the food and drinks are great, we had a very delicious and enjoyable dinners at 'El Faro' restaurant. *our room was just what we wanted perfect with a great view. *the pools are great with amazing view to the beach, and places were always nice and clean our stay was so relaxing we love it all. Bad- * our transportation from the airport to hotel turn out to be chaotic a bad hotel error and terrible organization for such as luxurious hotel was disappointment. *the beach had so much seaweed even though they clean it, also the waves were so rough not that we care since the pool was perfect for us and last the kids activities was on schedule plan but some were never on time or cancel. overall we will definitely recommend to anyone, its a beautiful place and we love it ,we will go again :)
