Hotel Castelmar

Colonial and not overdecorated

Spacious room, great use of old architecture, very cool (I mean temperature, which is a big plus in very hot Campeche), they even managed to fit a swimming pool there (which could be open a bit longer - we didn't manage to use it because it closes at 9 PM). Clean. Parking half a block from the hotel. And located in a silent street - most of other hotels are closer to bars. Bars, restaurants, and stores in the old Campeche seem to believe that the more noise they use, the more clients whey will attract. It is the world's capital of cacophony. Nice staff. Everything you need for a very reasonable price.

Gamma by Fiesta inn Campeche Malecón

Great location but a bit shaby

The hotel has a great location, the general area is ok, the staff is overly nice but the rooms are in a deep need of renovation. The pluming is reaaally bad, you could hear toilets flushing all over the place.

Hostel Viatger Inn

Excellent budget friendly hotel close to center

We arrived in our car and the front desk reception was kind enough to immediately open the gate to allow us to park inside and get out of the small street outside. Parking is very secure feeling - right outside our room. Wifi is excellent relative to many other Mexico hotels. Hammocks and outside seating area are pleasant. Breakfast not too shabby - toast, cereal, fruit, tea, coffee. The room - I think there is only one private room - is nice enough. A/C blows cold, bathroom clean. There were a number of fruit flies and a mosquito or two but the overall cleanliness felt good. Private room included towels and soap and shampoo. Ended up staying a second night.
