Rooms very small, no hot water (bearly warm) no hand towel, took bathroom mat when cleaning and never returned it, tried to have breakfast 20 min before advertised closing time and there was almost no food left (gave us 2 small plates of cold scrambled eggs, no juice, etc.), ice in lobby but have to carry it in your hands. Never using City chain again, the company cuts costs at clients expense.
Everything about the hotel was good except wind was forcing sewer smell into the bathroom. The room and bathroom were good size. The breakfast has good choices; eggs, fruit, cereal, drinks, coffee and plenty of room to sit.
My husband and myself got 1 room and another couple and 2 children we were traveling with got another room. Rooms appeared very clean. Cable TV, but no English channels. Close to Centro and the ocean. No wash cloths, but we did not request any. Hotel staff did not speak or understand English. All in all, good price for an average chain USA hotel. On a side note, there is a Taco Mariachi restaurant across the street that is simply AMAZING! Best pizza I've ever had and great tacos and potato bowls!
Not expensive and well located, a 10 minutes walk from the city centre. Clean rooms with the necessary amenities. Breakfast buffet disappointing. Staff not helpfull. No minibar/fridge on the rooms. Good place, just to sleep.
The room was average. Honestly, the hotel seemed deserted and there were no lights on in the hallway to our room. Our bathroom smelled like a sewer and didn't seem clean. Needless to say, we didn't shower there. We had to run the air conditioning all day as the windows don't open. On a positive note, the location is close enough to walk to the historic district, there's free wi fi and a free breakfast buffet, which was quite good.
Hotel is in good location off main highway. Clean, bed was comfortable, free parking off-street, no Mexican charm, but a good value for the price. WiFi was OK, bandwidth was small - OK for email & Facebook, but other websites would not open. Breakfast was OK - eggs, meat, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, bread, rolls, homemade tortilla chips, black beans. Staff was very friendly. None of the staff there during our stay spoke English.
Not clean, lazy staff: they don't clean the rooms or do it after 5 pm, the ladies preparing breakfast seem annoyed to do their jobs and shout all the time as if they were at home; btw, awful breakfast AND THEY OPENED OUR DOOR AT 3 AM...fortunately we had the latch on. This was the first and last time we'll stay at any City Express!
we stayed at this hotel in late August and I must say that the rooms are clean and comfortable, quiet . the buffet breakfast was varied and plentiful . the staff were helpful and polite. I know a 15-minute walk from the center . very good value for money
The tiled hallways and thin walls ecko the multitude of sounds throughout the building. Children and soccer teams fill the lobby well into the night and prevented myself from having a silent or peaceful sleep. None of the staff in the lobby think to limit the noise.
This hotel is well located, just a few blocks away from the Sea, and there is a path to run there and use bicycle. The price is good enough, the room is very nice, with a small closet but the rest is great, bed is good, the TV is flat screen 32 inches, the bathroom is good and it even has tissues, that's not normal for a hotel in that price. The only down size is the channels on TV, there are only a few channels, the staff is very friendly. Overall I would recommend this hotel. It has a gym which is another nice thing that hotels at this price normally don't have.
