Very cozy and clean. Good location in the city center. Very clean rooms. It has a nice breakfast room that serves the basic food. Which includes almost everything you need. They also have an iron room where guests can iron their own clothes.
Excellent central location for visiting places of interest, many in walking distance. Very friendly, courteous staff. Good choice of eating places nearby. Room facilities fairly basic but high standard of cleanliness and entirely suitable for short city break.
Nice, clean modern hotel. Room was nothing fancy but just what was needed for a short city break. Breakfast was really good, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Location is perfect, and the surrounding area has lots of good places to eat and drink. The subway and bus services are all nearby. The aircon was a godsend in the summer heatwave!
This hotel was friendly and quiet despite being literally just around the corner from one of the busiest main roads in town, and standing on the gateway to 'party central' in the VII district. All the Reception staff were very helpful (even long-suffering!) with excellent English. The situation was excellent, right by a major Metro station. The only drawback for some might be the actual access to the hotel which was not flat but rather up a fairly narrow and steep staircase - perhaps a minor cavil to an otherwise sparkling little gem.
This hotel has a great location in terms of proximity to the metro, trams, buses and one of the main train stations. The area is on the fringe of the Jewish District so a 5 minute walk takes you to the heart of that area and a 15 - 20 minute walk has you in the city center. Rooms are big, clean, modern and the bed was ridiculously comfortable! The AC works really well on hot days. The breakfast is a bit of a disappointment (I only did it one day). The staff are friendly and helpful and there is a laundromat right around the corner, which I needed after a few weeks of travel!
Situated next to a main metro and bus hub it's a good location to get around the city. Just off the Main Street it's a little noisy but that didn't disturb us at night, the area is just outside the Jewish 1/4 with its bustling night life. If you head right from the front door are many many restaurants and bars. The metro is a few steps around the corner along with the bus stops. Rooms are basic and I've stayed in many an ibis and this is the only one without hot drinks and an iron. There are minimal facilities in the room apart from the basics like a hair dryer and shower gel, the TVs has some English speaking news channels. The reception staff are very helpful, breakfast is 8euro however for us we went to the station where we had a coffee and pastry for under £1, failing that there is Burger King next door or a coffee shop over the road if you don't eat a lot for breakfast. Getting here from the airport is easy, we downloaded the BKk travel, app and with the transport card, which we purchased at the airport we had unlimited transport for about £3 a day. We got the 200E, changed onto the Metro and then got a bus for 2 stops, it took about 45 mins but using the app gives to real time options so depending on your arrival time it'll give you the best option. I would say if you were walking to the basilica from here it would take about 20 mins so if you want to stay for central so you can walk then this might not be an option but the public transport is brilliant so do use it.
We booked a four night City Break with Jet2 at the Ibis Budapest City Hotel, which sadly we are unlikely to repeat. Jet2 cannot be held responsible for the shortcomings of the hotel, which whilst few, were significantly important to our stay. The staff are English speakers and delightfully helpful. Our room, was spacious if somewhat basic, with no hot drink making facilities. Major credit for the environmental policies of the hotel group, where the guests make the decision on room cleaning, towel and bedding changes etc. Our major issues was the close proximity of bars to the hotel's street facing rooms. One bar in particular is arguably 10 meters from the nearest hotel room. We endured for a couple of nights, the load music and general customer noise which lasted until around 3am! My advice would be, not to have a street facing room (Rooms 1 - 6) on each of the 7 floors! Clearly the hotel has no control over the noise being made, and it is hard to see how the problem can be addressed. Our solution is no return visit!!
We recently stayed at this hotel for 4 nights during a city break in Budapest. The hotel was excellent with regularly cleaned, generous sized rooms and shower. The breakfast in the morning was good with ample choices. Another good idea is that free coffee and water are available for residents throughout the day. tThe hotel also has a nice bar and there are plenty of places to eat and drink in the near vicinity (try the Whale if you want to overlook the Danube and watch the world go by!). The hotel is about 30 minutes walk from the centre of Pest but there are buses, trams and the metro near by.
When I arrived, I was so tired, jet lagged and thirsty. The reception was so friendly and checked me in quickly. He also offered me a free drink voucher from their bar. Hotel overall experience was good. Clean and Comfy. Better than what I was expecting from a 3 Star hotel. When I checked out, I was rushing and I forgot to take a plastic bag of my belongings to Airport. Called them and they helped me find it and post it to my address. Helpful staff. Recommended...
This is one of the best Ibis Hotels I've been. One of the largest Ibis Rooms I 've seen, very well decorated , clean , with a perfectly working air conditioning system for the very warm August days I was there. Breakfast was also very good. The price is rather high for, after all, a budget category hotel but so are all Budapest hotels in August. This was the 3rd time I was there and obviously not the last one.
