Very much a hostile experience. Super casual with 27 rooms in a single building. Fits into the vibe of Bruges. Don't expect a hotel, a restaurant, valet or business-class experience. Instead, sleep in a bunk with clean sheets. Park in the underground lot about 5 min walk away or at the train station 10 minute walk away.
I was greeted by a friendly young woman who made sure I understood everything about the hostel and who gave me a wonderful map of Brugge. The bed in the 4 woman dorm was clean and I received fresh linen. If you don’t want to rent a towel be sure to bring your own. I am a 61 year old woman and healthy and so did not mind the climb up the winding staircase to my room. After midnight the place was very quiet but I do not recommend this place if you like to go to bed early (unless you have earplugs). It was lively but not out of control. I really enjoyed my stay!
