I spent a few nights at this hotel early January 2018. The hotel is good, nicely located in the centre, it has welcoming staffs. Breakfast was good too. Thought there are a few things preventing me to give full score to this hotel: 1- My room was too dar. The room was a large room but with only three bedside lights. There was no ceiling or wall lights at all. I hardly could read, no that you can do a make up with that light. I asked the reception about that, but they showed no effort to help. 2- The carpark is rather expensive, and the price is not mention or at least is not easly seen in their websithe. They charge 20 euros pernight, whereas about 5-8 minutes away you can find carpark for 8-10 euros per night. 3- The pathroom fan doesnt seem to work.
Quite a nice hotel about a 10 minute walk into the centre of Brugge. A touch dated in terms of decor but worth it for the peace and quiet of being away from the main city. Has a lovely little Japanese garden which could do with some blankets or space heaters for the colder evenings and months. Rooms were clean and neat and a decent size, although the bed is perhaps on its last legs as there was a significant dip in the middle! There is a very small spa type facility with a small hot-tub (could fit 4 comfortably, 8 very uncomfortably!) a steam room which was out of service and a sauna which we think might have also been broken as the temperatures were wildly different on the two days we entered! Overall it isn't a bad hotel for the price especially as it was part of a package, would stay again if we come back to Brugge
My daughter and I travelled by Eurostar for a 2 night Bruges Christmas market stay. We stayed at the Golden Tulip Hotel booked through Secret Escapes. Journey was easy using public transport. After arriving in Bruges take the number 4 or 14 bus from the bus station. This will take you directly opposite the hotel. 3 euros per person. We arrived slightly early but our room was available which was a bonus. The guy on reception was terrible. He offered no information and did not engage with us at all. He was totally unhelpful and devoid of any enthusiasm. No offer of any map, vouchers, or any other recommendations. Our room was at the back of the hotel looking out onto a school. We weren't affected by noise but this could be an issue for some. The heating was off on our arrival and we had to ask about turning it on as it wasn't obvious. The room was clean and tidy with nice beds. There was also a fridge available and a safe, although you have to go back to reception to ask for the key. Bathroom was very nice but there was a distinct lack of toiletries which was disappointing. No shampoo or conditioner. Bottled water was available to buy but we drank the hotel water with no issues. I also took my own t bags after reading the previous reviews. A tip is to get fresh milk whilst at breakfast and leave it in the fridge. The hotels location is very good and is a vey nice 10 minute walk into the centre alongside canals. There is also a supermarket opposite the hotel. Breakfast was reasonable with most things on offer. No grumbles here. The bar area was very nice and overlooks the Japanese Gergen which I'm sure is lovely in the Spring. There is a happy hour which is a positive. Overall the hotel was very nice and suited our needs. The only real negative was the very unhelpful and unfriendly reception staff who could have made more effort and made the stay a more positive one. However I would still recommend this hotel and would stay here again.
Despite there being a late check-in the hotel allowed us to park our car so we could go into the city. It is only a ten minute walk which makes this hotel ideal for anyone who is visiting to explore, The room was clean to a high standard and very comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful at all times. We had our evening meal in the restaurant and the barman could not have been more attentive or helpful. The meal was good and a reasonable price in comparison to those in the city centre. Would definitely stay here again if visiting the city.
We booked up late for a new year trip and paid over £250 a night - we accepted this but when we arrived absolutely everything was charged as an extra. Water - 1.50 euros Access to the spa - 12 euros per day (but the cheek of the lady at the desk to say robes aren't charged for!!!) Parking 18 euros per day. I'm not exactly sure what I got for my money except for a extremely tired looking room with tiny beds and polyester bedding. Best avoided.
I booked this break as a surprise for my husband at Christmas. We had a great time, the hotel is fantastically situated to explore Bruges. The breakfast was lovely and lots of choice. Our room was a good size and very clean. The only let down I would comment on was the poor service at the bar, because of this we only went the one evening as it took 30 mins to get served due to only one bartender who was trying to do everything.
Very close to this lovely city . Old style hotel with helpful staff. There is a bar in the hotel with very good 80’s music . The breakfast was classic. Need some improvement with local products . I like the sofas of the beds , was very comfortable . Recommended
Wow top noth service, rooms are big and cleaned to the top. Breakfast is top notch. Lobby bar amazing service Worth another visit, central 10 mins away from centre, close to canal Very helpful, Wonderful christmas spent in bruges through this hotel
Nice little hotel on the canal bank about a ten minute walk from the centre of Brugge. Rooms were clean, warm and comfy. Bed was nice and tea making facilities available. Breakfast was hot and well cooked and set you up for the day. Bars and restaurants nearby. Excellent centre for a three day shopping stop.
As lovely as ever. We certainly like coming to you as always and enjoy our stays with you.. We can recommend your hotel to anybody we know. Bruges is a wonderful town to visit and that is why we never tire of it.
