Flushing Meadows Resort and Playground3.0 out of 5.0

My boyfriend and I stayed in Flushing Meadows in July 2017, and dare I say it is one of the best we have stayed in. We were picked up from the airport by the most friendliest guy Mr. Andy and we were welcomed with drinks. The staff at Flushing Meadows were exceptional as they helped us with everything we asked for. This hotel is just brilliant as they have playground facilities for the kids, lovely pool, near the beach, spa, water activity equipment, free wifi all around and so on. It is about 15-20 minute tricycle drive to Alona Beach and Panglao town which cost us 50-60 php which is less than a £. Their pool is opened until 10pm/11pm which is absolutely awesome as you can have cocktails by the pool. If I was to come back in Bohol, Flushing Meadows and expect me through their gates as this is worth a visit. They just made us feel at home.
I havent heard about Flushing Meadows before my actual visit. It turned out that it was literally a stone's throw away from the famous Bohol Bee Farm. We were booked to stay for a night for business and so I was hoping that we'd get a room that was first and foremost comfortable. Upon arrival, I noticed that the resort has this warm, cozy feel. However, the main lobby is a bit too gaudy with all the unnecessary decors. If youre into modern, updated designs, nope, you wont find em here. The room we got was pretty all right. AC worked pretty fine and room got plenty of outlets for charging. Bathroom is quite huge but we had a bit of a problem with the sink. Water wont drain and youll end up with an overflowing sink if youre not too careful while brushing. The open spaces are great. The whole resort actually is relaxing ang lovely. The infinity pool is nice. Not really deep but itll do. The beach front is pretty decent. Although the area is naturally rocky and does not have the signature Panglao shoreline. Buffet breakfast was excellent. Great selection of sausages, fruits, and some Pinoy favorites for local flavor. Waiters were effecient and friendly, too! Overall, while a lot of things need to be improved, I say Flushing Meadows is a pretty cool resort. Go check it out!
What I love best about this resort is its serenity and ambiance. The rooms may not be that perfect but if you're in this resort, you don't spend so much time inside it. The scenery and picturesque scenes are awesome and the pool so clean. The staff are very warm and accomodating. You can spend endless hours just pondering the vast tranquil sea and its horizon. The only concern is the Wi-fi services and the food which does not reflect the true character of a 4 or 5 star of a resort like this. I love though their brewed coffee.
Found the place conducive for peace and quiet. Beach was really awesome during high tide. The pool was kept clean every day. Restaurant staff were always consistently nice and menu was varied and reasonably priced. The dinner live music was added luxury. Much appreciated! The rooms were kept clean. The jungle toilet decor was unique and not handicapped-friendly. One would find it difficult to get into the tub to take a shower. The entire place is wonderful if you are not handicapped. Check out took long due to lack of coordination with the one who checked us in and the one who checked us out. But this was a great place.
My husband and I stayed over the Holy Week and the resort is amazing with the balance of nature, breath taking view and class A accommodation. It is quiet enough for those who want the serene rest and still with enough activities for those who like tours and the adrenaline rush of water sports like kayaking and scuba diving. The staff are very friendly and honest and kind (especially Jlou). The restaurant has a wide variety of dishes to choose from and very flavorful like home. Highly recommended stay in panglao!
The place could have been better. The place is good from the surroundings to the pool, to their staffs. The place is very quite and there's a lot to see. I love the flowers especially the Bougainvillea. The pool is also nice and you can actually enjoy it the whole day. One thing negative is the dine experience, especially if you're in group. The service seems so slow that what you ordered at 11am was served at nearly 1pm and you already lost your appetite. If the dine experience can be improved , we will definitely coming back.
Been here 3 times and going again in September, staff-great!Rooms were good but look like they have been refurbished now. The place is half hour out of town on a motorbike, great sun trap-sea so clear and calm, protected by netting.. Food on evening was surprisingly good also-pool area romantic at night and wow what a sunset!! I would recommend this place its little bit different and draws you back! Many thanks Steven Hall uk!!
The room was clean, toiletries were complete, linens were good too. There was hot and cold shower, TV (signal was bad so we didn't use it much), mini fridge, phone, tea/coffee facility, complimentary water bottles. There was not much of a view from our room. the window had a very bushy view. Outside our door was a veranda but had another building in front. Our room was a connecting room, so they have space for families should the family room be unavailable. Restaurant was al fresco. They could use some more high chairs for the toddlers, though. Buffet breakfast was basic, a gew viands, rice, fruits, bread, butter and jam, juices. My husband was able to request for some cereals for our toddler at no cost. Staff are cheerful and helpful. The resort has two pools, one was infinity. It also has a dino park, some gazebos and cottages, tennis court, a function room, videoke facilities, spa, water activities, a small concessionaire shop by the lobby. The beach was beautiful, but it reached the resort's seawall for most of our stay. I had a bit of an issue with the mosquitoes. There were a lot during the evening. Bring a repellant. Also, have some snacks with you. There aren't a lot of shops nearby. Room service is there, of course, but price seemed steep to me for something small or simple. Tiles by the villas are also very slippery when wet. Take extra care.
We stayed here for just under a week and had a pleasant stay. The resort is big and well equipped with gym, tennis court and a clean pool. Unfortunately the beach didn't seem too appealing and although they had advertised water sports we couldn't find anyone to sign us up for it. The breakfast was very limited, but if you ask for cereal or different types of eggs then they'll happily do this for you. Very strange dinosaur area for kids felt like we were in Jurassic Park but was more funny than anything. Slightly out of the way from the main town so had to get tricycles everyday.
So, this hotel has high and lows. The infinity pool is lovely. The beach is secluded and quite peaceful. The gardens are well maintained. Some of the staff really put themselves out for you, especially at reception Unfortunately: The rooms are not very well sound insulated. The breakfast is not great. Hot food has been cooked but isn't kept warm- so cold eggs, sausages and rice. The juice isn't real juice, it's like cordial. The room was supposed to be a superior room, and it wasn't cheap, but the furnishings were quite basic. Also they couldn't cope with the idea of a gay couple, so initially downgraded is to a standard room because it had 2 beds. We complained and showed them the pictures on their own website, showing our room as clearly a standard room. They tried again to tell us it was superior. We argued and they said, the superior room only has a double bed. We said that is fine and we got given the room. I don't have too much of a problem that someone's view of the world doesn't factor in homosexuality, but I do when someone lies and tries to fob me off with a very nasty basic room when I paid for a superior one.
