Great stay, huge improvement from when I stayed last fall. Last time nothing worked - TV, internet, hairdryer, etc. This time the WiFi was fast, TV had over 300 channels, room was extremely clean, bed very comfortable and breakfast was simple but very good - waffle bar. I had a great stay and will come back for sure. This inn is historic and has so much charm, also it is located in the woods, so very quite and relaxing.

The booking service and the hotel did NOT communicate at all. I drove my kids 4 hours to Indiana and the hotel staff said, "Sorry, we don't have any rooms." They said they tried to get ahold of me but I received no calls or messages. They made no effort to help me other than sending me to another hotel which was $90 more expensive. I don't know who is more to blame, The booking service or the hotel, but I'm not impressed with EITHER. I don't plan to use booking service again. Since typing the name of the booking service flags this message "We're sorry but your review text contains either profanity or travel brand names." I will only say that the booking service was the one that starts with an Or and ends with bitz.

overall, it was an good hotel. the only problem is that the sign of the hotel is not big enough, and it was not easy to find it in a forest. but anyway, we found it. The public area was not having A/C but the staff said it was because of the storm. Also breakfast can be a bit more generous, and the food was not supply in a continuous matter. Overall, for a night to crash, it was reasonable.

This hotel has so much potential but it needs to be updated. The pool was filthy,Bed and pillow were hard, lobby wasn't air conditioned, breakfast was very limited in selection.

Staff was wonderful and welcoming but needs a good cleaning and update. Windows dirty, found roaches in our room on the last night. Decks need pressure washing. Pool area nice but water was very cold. No internet access, not a large selection for breakfast but kitchen area was clean and well maintained. came for wedding in the area so it worked for us. Close to casino and beach which was beautiful!!! Shopping and local food was great!

The decorum is dated and some features of the rooms are wearing out. But this is a great facility in an unexpected place. The staff were most helpful. We will likely return.

For a family wanting to enjoy a few days relaxing in the Indiana Dunes area, this was the perfect choice. The low price ($59 per night for a double queen room) had me nervous until we arrived and saw that the place was just as it was described on the hotel's web site. The outside of the hotel and the lobby/eating area look like something out of a fairy tale. Each room has it's own balcony and ours looked out into a mature wooded area. Our floor had a quiet reading/gathering area that also looked out into the woods and was perfect for getting away from the kids while they were watching their cartoons. Our room was clean and the beds and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was large with plenty of counter space. The carpeting was older, but we usually don't let the kids roll around on the floor in hotel rooms anyway. The staff were all friendly and courteous. The free breakfast was typical of what you might find at AmericInn, etc. but the eating area was much nicer. I did start to get tired of the fruit cocktail after the 4th day though! (Did I mention it was free?) For some reason, even the other guests seemed friendlier and more laid back; possibly because of the peaceful setting of the place. The pool itself was fine and the water was clean, but the area around the pool had some missing tiles and peeling paint that took a little away from the attractiveness of that area. The kids didn't seem to notice though! All-in-all, this hotel made our trip to the Indiana Dunes an enjoyable one and will definitely be our first choice if we decide to visit this area again in the future.

When I got to the hotel, my first room had an over powering smoke smell. I asked for a second room and it smelled musty and the bathroom smelled like urine. I checked out within 20 minutes. [...] That hotel was awful.

We stayed here simply to sleep and go. We were pleasantly surprised by the cozy atmosphere and the cleanliness. It had that family business feel and we couldn't have felt more at home. The price (~$60) was well worth it...bring your GPS if arriving at night, it's set back into the woods and cannot be seen from the main road.

[...] the hotel was sold out. Thankfully someone had just cancelled when we arrived, so we were able to stay, but it was a smoking room! The room stunk SO badly that we couldn't sleep well, especially my two children. That smell made everything feel dirty, including our clothes and hair. The hot tub was broken, but at least the kids got to swim in the pool. The breakfast was okay for the price. The entry and dining area are nice. In all, the hotel was a good value for the price, and maybe the other rooms are nicer than the one we had to have.

The area you walk into to check in was decent but it all goes down hill from there. My non smoking room smelled like it had been smoked in for 30 years. The carpets were so dirty that i was afraid to take my socks off. It appeared as if the comforter hadnt been washed since the 80s. The girl at the desk in the morning seemed like she hated being there. At least the girl in the afternoon was very apologetic. I am waiting to hear from a manager to see if i get a refund. We had to get reservations at a different hotel. If you choose to stay...proceed with caution!

I was moving out of town so my best girlfriends got together for a girls night away from the guys and kids. The hot tub was down, the front desk personnel were unfriendly except for a black gentleman whom was very friendly and wore a smile on his face everytime we saw him. [...] They did not have extra pillows when we requested. Weekend breakfast could have two waffle makers. Blankets had stains all over them. The hotel is very cute and in a quiet area making it a nice getaway for us girls who live in a constant hustle and bustle of young children.

The hotel was a surprise to us. The outside looked a rundown but once inside, while needing updating, the rooms were very spacious and we were happily surprised by the balcony off of each room. There was an issue with the A/C but since the weather turned cold, we didn't push the issue. The Springhouse Inn was willing to change our room after looking at the A/C. We had a 2-queen sized room and there was still room for a roll away and to move around. Very nice sized rooms! I would definitely go back and have already recommended them to family. The pool was in service but the hot tub was out of service. They also had a sauna which was another pleasant surprise!

Had a great time very private location, nice view, staff did what ever they could to help. The hot tube and the sauna were not in order is the only complaint we had.

Very quiet, pleasant, beautiful, place. We stayed there 2 years ago and enjoyed it , so we came back again. We happen to have family in the area so we stayed there for Thanksgiving. People there are very friendly and helpful

Cordial staff. Lobby atmosphere charming. Pool was ok, sauna nice. Great location. Bathroom was clean. Plenty of towels. Decor outdated but okay. Balcony facing wooded area nice. Micorwave, fridge, tv all decent. There were pebbles in the heater and sheets didn't smell fresh. Breakfast was basic bagels and muffisn, juice and coffee. Boiled eggs? Weird.

Very accommodating staff but some rooms need attention. The first room we were put in - one of the beds box springs was falling apart and it squeaked horribly all night so the next day we told the staff and were moved to a room that was much better. We arrived at night and if we hadn't had a garmin probably wouldn't have found it because it is off of a back road. Did hear trains go by all night about every 1/2 hour. Was clean and breakfast was adequate - price was great.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was exactly as described online including the balcony with a breathtaking view of Indiana Dunes. The room was very reasonably priced.

great location for beach. quiet in the country setting. very friendly and helpdful staff. balacony overlooking wooded country setting excellant
