Stayed overnight to break up a long drive. Somewhat disappointed by the actual facility versus the Trip Advisor ratings - could use some upgrades. Book online if you go, prices are lower than at the counter.
Stayed here again on return from wintering in Florida.,as we always have for 5 plus years. The heater in our room was noisy and non working....a call to the desk resulted in a member of management coming to room.He was unable to fix it so we got moved right next door..easy,solution implemented with no issue. We used coupon we'd picked up at travel plaza so rate was wonderful.for one bed (married couple so was what we are used to)..All employees friendly..room clean, quiet with microwave & fridge and good water pressure.Pool and whirl pool area very nice.Good selection at breakfast When we do our next return trip we will stop again.
Stayed in non-smoking two bed room. Arrived at 4:30 AM, looking to get the advertised rate of $46 per night. The night staff charged me $36 for first night and $64 for a second night Much more than I was given through the internet. I ended up staying only that day because of false advertising and the internet was not working. When I checked out the daytime manager charged me for $64 . Service was poor except for the night clerk. When we tried to get soap, shampoo and coffee the man who was cleaning rooms ignored my request or he did not understand English. We were not advised of breakfast time, when I went to the lobby to ask at 9:15 AM they told me I had missed breakfast by 15 minutes. Day staff only wanted their money for an over-priced room and horrible service. Will NOT stay there again. Room was clean. I was nearly turned away at 4:30am even though the motel was obviously mostly empty
It was a great stay! I was traveling from Texas and stopped here. The staff was very friendly, nice breakfast, pool and hottub. Will definately stay here again.. I would like to say is please don't listen to the bad reviews because the staff was amazing and so was my stay, couldn't ask for anything else
Was great room and when we checked in desk clerk was super friendly, pool a hottub was so clean and hot, Breakfast was sufficient and fresh, Room was clean and best. Bathroom. Was super clean, they gave us all information what we needed a staff is great and location was super great with all restaurants near by walking distance mcdo
Clean and affordable place to stay on opening weekend of deer season. They had early breakfast and Sat night Chili for deer hunters which I appreciated. Place was quiet. Pool and tot tub were nice. Bo yah
Made the reservation a couple of weeks ahead, and noted in special requests that we were travelling with 2 dogs. Called ahead to make sure that a pet room was available. They had noted we had pets, so all was good. Check in was fast and easy. Room with king bed also had a sofa, so the room was very large and spacious, room for the dogs to stretch out and run around a little. Hallways were clean and quiet. All the staff were pleasant. Breakfast was standard, but filling.
So it’s a blast from the past. Clearly from the 1980’s they did put in new carpet and painted but that’s it. I urge u to “see” the room before u decide to stay. We checked our first room which needed cleaning and there were plenty of hairs In the bed. The second room at least had clean sheets but lots of hair in the bathroom and none of the surfaces had been cleaned. We only stayed because it’s next to the truck stop and we r truckers. Not the worst we have ever seen which is why I gave it a 2.
We've stayed in Tomah a number of times. The Econo Lodge is by no means a bad motel -- but there are better choices in Tomah. For example, the Lark Motel in town is a clean and fun Mom and Pop operation, and if you just want a motel near I-94, the Quality Inn and Microtel are better than the Econo Lodge (in my experience). On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, and the most important things (hot and cold water, and temperature control) worked well enough. So I got a decent night's sleep. However, the place feels dated and a bit tired. The tub wasn't dirty but it didn't look totally clean; the bathroom is cramped; and when I plugged in my phone charger, I was rewarded with a flash of blue light -- something definitely wrong with that outlet! Breakfast offerings were the usual stuff you find at a budget motel, so that's neither a plus nor a minus. I stress that this place is not "bad", so if you end up here, you should have an OK stay even if there are better choices in the area.
For starters, the TV in my room only got 1 channel. I called the front desk and they said they'd have it cleared up in 3 hours. It never got cleared up. Worse than that were the 3 very large spiders living in the bathroom. Their webs were substantial so I assume they had been there for a while. Doesn't say much for the cleaning crew. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
