Econo Lodge Tomah

Made the reservation a couple of weeks ahead, and noted in special requests that we were travelling with 2 dogs. Called ahead to make sure that a pet room was available. They had noted we had pets, so all was good. Check in was fast and easy. Room with king bed also had a sofa, so the room was very large and spacious, room for the dogs to stretch out and run around a little. Hallways were clean and quiet. All the staff were pleasant. Breakfast was standard, but filling.

So it’s a blast from the past. Clearly from the 1980’s they did put in new carpet and painted but that’s it. I urge u to “see” the room before u decide to stay. We checked our first room which needed cleaning and there were plenty of hairs In the bed. The second room at least had clean sheets but lots of hair in the bathroom and none of the surfaces had been cleaned. We only stayed because it’s next to the truck stop and we r truckers. Not the worst we have ever seen which is why I gave it a 2.

We've stayed in Tomah a number of times. The Econo Lodge is by no means a bad motel -- but there are better choices in Tomah. For example, the Lark Motel in town is a clean and fun Mom and Pop operation, and if you just want a motel near I-94, the Quality Inn and Microtel are better than the Econo Lodge (in my experience). On the plus side, the bed was comfortable, and the most important things (hot and cold water, and temperature control) worked well enough. So I got a decent night's sleep. However, the place feels dated and a bit tired. The tub wasn't dirty but it didn't look totally clean; the bathroom is cramped; and when I plugged in my phone charger, I was rewarded with a flash of blue light -- something definitely wrong with that outlet! Breakfast offerings were the usual stuff you find at a budget motel, so that's neither a plus nor a minus. I stress that this place is not "bad", so if you end up here, you should have an OK stay even if there are better choices in the area.

For starters, the TV in my room only got 1 channel. I called the front desk and they said they'd have it cleared up in 3 hours. It never got cleared up. Worse than that were the 3 very large spiders living in the bathroom. Their webs were substantial so I assume they had been there for a while. Doesn't say much for the cleaning crew. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

This hotel has very friendly staff and the rooms are clean. This hotels location is a Convenient location to food and fuel. Very accommodating for parking our truck and boat and is pet friendly. Would stay here again!

We had a good time staying at this hotel. The pool and hot tub were nice and the temperature was good. The room was clean. A restaurant was within walking distance. That staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good.

Good location without the highway noise. Room was stuffy and a bit smelly. Pool area appeared to be very clean. Parking lot was well lit. A Denny's and Kwik Trip are in the next parking lot. A few other restaurants also working walking distance. Friendly staff.

Stayed on June 9 @ this hotel. When we made the reservation in March, we asked for an extra bed so we could sleep all five of us in the room. The other three choice hotels we did the same thing with had them in the room ready for us when we arrived. This one had no extra bed available, but was going to charge me for it at check out, which tells me that they had it on my reservation, even though the front desk said they did not have the request in the system. They did delete the charge after I said something. The beds and pool were fine. The indoor pool was very large. The hot tub was extremely hot and we only stayed in it for about three minutes. Breakfast was standard continental with a waffle machine. The Orange juice dispenser was all water, but the apple juice was fine. The cereal took a long time to fill from the clogged up dispenser. Looked like the front desk also had to do the breakfast area as well. Good thing was the ample seating area in the breakfast area. The shower took about five minutes to get warm. You had to get it to a middle area between off and all the way on. Some shampoo dripping was in the shower when we arrived in the room. We used the fresh bottle instead. If you have trouble with loud noises, the air conditioning rattles when running. I could sleep through it, but three of the five of us had issues with the noise throughout the night. I cannot recommend this hotel. They lied about not having my extra bed reservation, and would not even apologize for it. I will try another hotel when in the Tomah area again.

stay here just about every time we need a motel in the area..A 3 hour drive to home but to avoid getting home late after being gone for an extended time,we choose to stay an extra night and get home refreshed .Location is goo, desk staff friendly , rooms clean & comfortable pool area nice,,Restaurants close by

We were in town for a family funeral and this was the first time we've stayed at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and eager to help. When the desk chair was stuck in an upright position, we called and told them and within minutes they were there with a new chair. The breakfast was continental but well supplied. We would stay there again.
