We have been taking weekend trips to this hotel for several years. Our son and friends live in Bay St. Louis and this hotel is very close to them. Over the years, employees and owner have become an extended family to us. They are all so friendly and helpful. Although, it is not a top rated hotel, the effort of the staff to accommodate and friendliness is appreciated. I occasionally travel without my husband and they always make me feel very safe. I must say they went above and beyond to accommodate the IRMA evacuees during our most recent scheduled visit. The hotel unexpectedly booked to capacity very quickly and they scrambled to the best of their abilities to house them along with their furry family members. See you all next time, friends!!!
First, the reason we were here. We were on the run from hurricane Irma and this was the closest hotel to Homestead we could find. They are pet friendly and the staff at the front desk were very nice. But make no mistake this place is in serious disrepair. We were there for four nights and our room was cleaned only once. We had to ask for bath towels, and there were no hand towels in our room or a bath mat. I will not stay here again hurricane or not.
Last minute reservation for evacuation from Hurricane Irma. Older place that needs attention, but served our purpose. Indoor pool was a godsend for the 6 year old even if it was brrrrr cold. Older stained carpet and furniture but safe and sound while the winds were blowing back home, so no complaint. Staff was very accommodating and friendly. Staff 5 stars, amenities 3 star, room condition 1 star. Ave 3.
Terribly poor quality to include: Wi-if not working, stale cigarette and mold smell, light not working, not telephone to contact front desk, door frame cracking and falling, wall paper peeling off of walls in several places, baseboards cracked and taped (yes, taped) to the wall, bathroom vent fan broken and rusty, mold and gapped seams visible in bathroom, and there was a live roach in the room. Did they offer us a discount, refund, apology? Nope.
Dirty room, ragged towels, pillows aren't much. That is just for starters. They put no money back into this place. Ice machine broken and you have to walk a long ways to get ice. No coffee in the morning in the lobby as the desk is too lazy to make it. I won't stay there again. You can do what you want, personally I didn't like the gang hanging around the stairs.
This place needs to be tore down! Nasty! Upon entering the building nasty cigarettes butts on the floor along with trash and hotdog buns under the stairs. The room smelled old and moldy. The bathroom ceiling is covered with mold and the sink is filthy. No trash can or ice bags inside the room. Of course baby roaches crawling throughout and the room next to me door squeaked horrible! Room 241 is a hot nasty mess! Pool and hot tub is green and slimy. To much chlorine. Please take pride in your building because it reflects on you. This could be a nice place if you take the necessary steps.
Let me preface this by saying we made last minute reservations for the 4th if July and this was the only hotel with vacancies....now I know why. After check in we find our room with no linens and garbage in the cans..( We have our hands full and dragging luggage) we called the front desk who apologized but wanted us to come back to the front desk, after explaining our situation someone came to us with key cards to another nearby room. This room at least was clean...BUT...no frige, no microwave, no room table, the hairdryer was missing and no iron. The indoor pool was green so we didn't even attempt it or the hot tub. At one time this place may have been very nice....but today it seems it only opens up all the rooms on holidays and they're not all equipped. For shame on the owners.
Huge let down for the end of a wonderful family vacation. Although reserved and paid for months ago, room was not ready for over an hour. Lobby was rank, smelled unclean and there was apparently once a restaurant attached and to the left of the lobby that had mounds of broken furniture. Homeless looking folks with feril children were running around. Think they actually lived there! No wifi, no lights at the desk, were afraid to use the water or bathroom at all as fixtures were falling from the ceiling. Walls had been very roughly patched and painted over. Gross.
Very nice place to relax and enjoy time with the family. The rooms were clean, staff was friendly and had a nice indoor pool. The cost was very good and we will visit again for sure. They have a washer and dryer on site if you need it and several places to eat close by as well as a bowling alley across the street.
Utterly disgusting place driving from tampa to dallas stopped in to get some sleep got a room found roaches in the bed and on the night stand requested my money back told a manager could only do so. So i got a different hotel after only being there for 5 minutes. called the manager for a week and a half no response finally another employee called me back stating i couldnt have my money back because i didnt want another room this place is complete craphole
